On pole for Race B ... if the race ever starts... waiting 4 minutes so far

Edit :11 minutes ...

Edit 2: 25 minutes later. I'm the only person left. Pole, fastest lap, and the win.

Also, something seems weird with the feel of the cars. I'll try resetting everything, but it's like throttle staying open, terrible understeer, and my load cell brake feels weird. Can't trail brake at all.

Edit 3: resetting everything has fixed brake problem. Weird issue I've never had before.

Had one normal race... now the server has frozen again 🙄

Edit 4: race eventually started with 2 of us left. I pulled a 12 second lead then let the other chap win. Not even a "thank you" in the chat 🙄

Why did you get axed? From experience, a dirty driver took you out, you commented post-race without being rude and the scum had the ego to report you and you got done without actual investigation! Am I correct?
It was on the last chicane, lap 1. [With hindsight:] I took the first corner of the chicane at a bad angle and had to brake more than normal for the second corner, and the guy behind me clipped me. He quit right away, so I didn't have a chance to chat with him. Also, I totally screwed up getting back on track, and was a good 10-20 seconds behind, so I just quit.

I could have avoided the entire issue if I took the chicane anywhere near normally. Also, I slightly messed up the first chicane, which allowed the people behind me to get close and cause a bottleneck at the second chicane.

And this is something I think we all need to remember:

If you screw up, and as a result something bad happens like someone binning you, that's what you get for messing up. You can't expect other drivers to avoid you if you're not driving in a way they expect. Yes, shame on them for not avoiding you, but still - you mess up, something bad is gonna happen.

Just finished a race moments ago and from start to finish (even in the pre-race lobby) I was all smiles and excited like a little girl when I realized that 2 of the 3 people I mostly follow on YT where in the same race! 😂

I started in P11 but spent the final half of the race in P7 putting as much pressure as I could on one of them 😀 Almost fluffed it in the final corner of the race but thankfully controlled the car and finished 4 places ahead of where I started in a clean and close race 😀

** EDIT **

Race replay available below 😀

LOL my ratings plummeted down from A+|S to A|B. The first SR drop came from the infinity loading screen; after 15 minutes i restarted the game just to discover my updated rating. Then I had a really fun race C in the rain. Lots of argy-bargy which is to be expected BUT I got hit 3x in the back right before one of the chicanes. Every time the offender got a 2-4s penalty. I had 3 track limit penalties, of which one was questionable because I avoided a crash from someone rejoining the track unsafely. Lesson learned: Rather touch this car, it nullifies the track limit penalty.

Also - as stated here before from y'all - the ghosting is an absolute joke. Everytime I sense some pattern, the game proves me wrong.

I think I have to regain my SR next week or in tomorrow's Manufacturer's Cup. Despite all Race C is too much fun :)

Be careful, one or two more infinity loading screens and your SR goes down again and you are also B/C. I am gonna risk it one more time now...

After 4 unsuccessful tries to race daily C and always waiting 25min before I close the game, I still lost all my SR and as a consequence my DR went down as well. Thank you PD for ruining my good work of the last few months..... from A/S to B/C without doing anything wrong
Wow we have similar experiences and want to cry out at the same time xD I don't mind too much about my ratings. I mean I want that SR S rating because I try my best to drive cleanly but DR I don't care. I see that other people have different feelings about it and it's a shame that these things happen due to no fault of one's own.

EDIT:

here we go again...loading fof four minutes and counting..

It really does bend the brain...how can the application be so completely unaware of a true disconnect -vs- something user initiated (quit)? I don't code, which may be plainly obvious after the next statement, but, it can't be THAT hard to script this stuff out and prevent this situation.

Like others have said, if my DR/SR is gonna be tanked, it should be ME, and ME ALONE that is taking a sledgehammer to it. 😁

Last night I had 3 attempts with 2 frozen loading screens and just one race (a very decent one in a surprisingly clean lobby!).
Had to reboot the game in those 2 frozen screens and my SR bar had a big hit.

Im not gonna try it again until PD fixes this crap.

How long did you wait before you restarted the game? Is it worth waiting? 13 minutes and counting...
The first time I left the screen (the same that you posted) almost until next race (25 mins or so) and nothing happened.
Rebooted the game and it worked for the following slot.

After that I tried again and, I got the frozen screen again and turned it off at the 5 seconds with all hopes lost.
Sport mode its not playable after the update

for me it worked now, finally a race!
B/C lobby and people were quite fast... 3.40.8 is nothing special, but in A lobby I had P4 and P6 this morning (when it crashed), now in B lobby I started P8, finish P6.

I waited 20 minutes before the race started - I was desperate to start the race as it was very wet at the 'waiting in the pits' screen, and there were only two of us on IMs! Thought I stood a good chance of a win.

Lo and behold, when the race finally started there were just the two cars in the race - me on pole and a fellow Brit, in the other car on IMs!

I was in the 08 Lexus, and he was in the CLK, it rained heavily for the whole race, and he was collecting penalties as he started to close on me. He finally passed me on the last lap, then he collected another 1 seconds worth of penalties.

I retook the lead as he slowed in the penalty zone, and managed to beat him to the line by 0.7 seconds......

"I kept bumping people through that section."
"Then those people would get angry"

You don't see a correlation there? There's this old joke:

[Raising arm] "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." Doctor says "Then don't do that."
Like I said, I wasn't trying to. People kept braking at random unnecessary points during the esses.

Are daily races still broken? I don’t fancy trying a lobby just to see and wait.

Also the rest of the game seems broken too. GT Auto shop is taking forever to load too

Itty bitty. Had two race Cs all seemed well currently waiting for a third that's frozen.

For now the only safe thing to do is the time trials.

Ah, so it's not just me.

Still hanging, by the way.

EDIT: As of 3:40pm Pacific Time, I had a clean, pause-free race. I'll try the next race and see how it goes.

EDIT: Next race is hanging. Crap - and I'm doing this one on my primary account.

Just watched the GT movie and I have to say, was way beyond my expectations! Was obviously default in plotline and aside from 2 instances which pissed me off (which funnily enough, represent the dirty driving in sport mode perfectly) the movie was quite good and in a way, inspiring/ feel good factor!

Ok, they stole the Dumbreck incident (lol) but was really nice to watch 😀 Obviously feeling revved up, switched on the console 30 minutes ago and low and behold, it worked 😂

My race finally started after 16 minutes of waiting. Me and one other guy. I was already pole position, and I'm not sure where he was, but it didn't really matter.

Not sure I can brag about any of this...

I only gained 4% DR. I suppose that makes sense now that I think about it - if I had run a full race and finished first, I probably wouldn't have gotten much more than that.

It's crazy, though, that people get penalized because PD's servers are broken.

BEGIN RANT

And What The Hell are they waiting for, to fix this?
You don't suppose they're so ignorant they don't even know they have a problem, do you? I mean, I was a developer and worked in a mission-critical data center for a VERY well-known amusement park here in Southern California, and we had all sorts of ways of getting notified if something wasn't working right.

For PD, assuming they couldn't get notified of something obviously wrong hardware-wise - all they'd have to do is monitor the stats from a different server. If races don't start on time, or have a bunch of people drop out, then there's a problem. And even if the problem was such that the monitor program couldn't get the stats to monitor, that's a red flag right there.

I really have no clue what they're doing. Can you imagine waiting in line for one of the world-famous park attractions, only to discover they weren't letting anyone on the rides, and they wouldn't tell you why? That would most certainly not be the happiest place on earth.

Happened to me earlier too, did not imagine the race would still take place after 6 minutes of waiting, so I quit :/ Ridiculous from PD to still have this crap happen after a year and a half of having released the game...

So this is borked still? Really!?!?

PD! I am ill. I'm up at 5am not out of choice! But I thought hey what a great chance to get some racing time in!

Silver linings and all that.

PD says NO!!!!
