GT7 Daily Race Discussion

Daily C this week is what most of us was asking for.
Lots of competitive cars (well done PD with that BOP!) and a race long enough to correct mistakes with possible comebacks.

Im not complaining (best combo so far) but imagine how good it should be this same combo with dynamic weather and 20 or 24 cars on track... (let me dream, please).

Sadly for me, Im having a very busy week and I just could made 2 races so far
Yesterday some alien descent to race the mere mortals and this was the final result.
Cooper pulled 35.8 seconds to the following pack :bowdown:

Must be boring to be that lonely at the front :D

You guys are stopping the merc take over. You even got the R8 to p2. So proud of you guys. 😢
 
Man A+ is just miserable. My DR has floated back up to high A after I tanked it, and instantly as I got near to top split I was met with a last to firster in Race C who punted me off at the chicane twice because all they're focused on is passing 'slower' drivers with 0 racecraft to be seen.

It's shameful honestly. I've had cleaner races my entire time in mid A than I have in that one high split A+ race. Unfortunate that this is the state of Sport Mode.

Dude - I know what you mean! It is HELL out there! Just did a race on Main after going down to 2:29:81 starting in P9 and it was mayhem! I have an S-rated Sportsmanship rating and as you know, I am in no way dirty! Everyone around me had A, B and even C ratings in SR and it showed!

Nearly got murdered a few times, was up in P7 but was pushed wide, down to P10 or P11 but managed a P8 finish, barely! I don't get what is going on :( Will post the race later but below is the qualy lap. Howcome you haven't had a go at Spa?

I've quit more races at this combo now it probably most of the last 12 months.

There is just something about this track that invites odd overtake "attempts" and they can be catastrophic

Edit:

What is up with the odd starts on B most of the time it's the standard start but then occasionally these odd ones where auto drive stays on for ages. This last one I was P2 and auto drive stopped at T1 giving me control at the hairpin....P1 was 5s ahead and P3 3s back??? 🤷‍♂️ I have the video if anyone wants to see it.

Yep, I think when I started in P12 I was already 6s behind leader after T1. This time I think it was 4.5s from P9 but still, lol. And I started half-way round the chicane before the start/ finish so was fun to begin almost sideways ⚰️

This the race I mentioned above.. Mayhem!

That's why I dread getting my DR up to an A, I may stay at a C or a low B if I even get there soon. I can't tolerate but so much carnage and fighting on the track. So, how's your progress going, I've done 735 races so far over a 14 month period. I'm getting the hang of the MT some, keep practicing everyday on it. That's how I can grow day by day.
 
Having done 5-6 Race C this week. First real daily races since Watkins Glen were I raised my DR form low B to mid B. All but one race has been with A and A+ drivers so they have been tough. I am starting to get consistant laps. Had a great race yesterday in a full B lobby were I started 11 and finished 2nd so I was very happy with that. BTW I'm using the M6. That race I changed my pit strat because everyone pit around me at lap 10, so I stayed out till lap 12 for the clean air. I came out in front with no traffic. Also finished all my races with quitting unlike many others. Plenty of last place results, well until the guy in front ran out of gas. I also used this lapping experience to get gold in Master s-10 license.

I wonder if I was in that race with you… I raced with that group last night..I took last tho in one of the races though.. ugh lol I had a miserable race with someone taking me out. I still always finished the race… The last race of the night I took 7th. Today I have been really good! P7 P5 and P4! I love this combo! I’m A.Miller in the 458

I remember your name and after seeing that the 458 was also a competitive option, I thought that it will be worth the try (will test it on the weekend surely)

Hope we cross each other again.
 
I just finished another daily c and out of the 13 cars that finished the race 8 improved DR and 5 had their DR reduced. Someone was saying before that it would cut in half based on who finishes the race, but it doesn't seem like it.

Question: my SR bar is completely empty and I'm SR S. Does this mean I'm almost getting downgraded or does the SR S is always like this?
 
I guess most of my leaderboard friends are not doing Race B this week, because I just did a few Q laps (finally the coughing is giving me a break knock on wood), and I saw I was #6 on my leaderboard:

... but my time only puts me in the 9,000 range:

I mean it was just one of my first sets of Q laps, and I knew it sucked, but #6 seemed nice. #9,290 not so much.

I don't see my name in the list, but I got a time in the 2'36.000's so I'm not too terribly far behind y'all. Welcome back to racing, I overcomed a stuffy and runny nose a few days ago and my throat was sore. I am a Spa fan, it's fun racing on the track. So, you used the 650S too? I wonder why that is so popular here. Maybe it's got good grip and can get through the turns and corners in a fast manner.

Lol, I feel like I'm at the spa getting a massage and a back rub. I wonder where I'm losing time because I'm behind in the 2'36.000's. See the sharp right turn after the finish race is eating my time, don't have a good line which gives me high exit speeds. I will post a video of my runs tomorrow or Saturday depending on how busy my schedule is.

But 3 people quit, their DR will have gone down - so, 8 DR up, 8 DR down
 
My actual time at Spa is 2'36.314. Idk how to improve greatly though. I keep making the same mistakes, it's getting old. I need to pull some tricks up my sleeve to help me save time.

I'm looking forward to racing at Sardegna again, it's been a long time since I raced there in Sport mode. Plus the B track is my favorite so it's a win-win for me.
