Are you swinging into the pit lane from the track at the last possible moment, or running along the apron for a while? Is there some trick to driving through the pit lane at daytona? At several occasions my pit time seemed much longer than my competitors, even though I don't change tyres or take fuel. My total 'drive through' pit time is about 32-33 seconds.
Example 1: Leader is 24 seconds ahead of me (P3), and 19 seconds ahead of P2. It was lap 9 and he had to pit. So I thought this would be an easy P2 for me. Not so much, he even got out ahead of P2..
Example 2: I pit from P14. The cars on P15 and P16 are multiple seconds behind me and also dive into the pits. Again I don't take tyres or anything, but when I come out I am dead last 3-4 seconds behind P15. What am I missing here? I click on the no tyres and nu fuel buttons as fast as I can.

Hope to see you on track, man! With the right people, this one’s pretty good, albeit short (I’m fine with short but I know many aren’t). I do miss some night time settings though... We’re in Tokyo, come on, man!Just got round to doing some laps of A and wow I'd forgotten just how nice the tuned porker was.
Managed to set an early time in the top 500 and one of only 10 911s in the top 500.
Did I say how much I love the handling of the Porsche 🤗

Edit:
As is typical 🤦♂️ I post a pic of a time do "one more lap" and take 3/10s off of it

Edit 2:
Went over to my main account and improved a fraction more on the first lap

I can definitely get in to the 2:08s with the Porsche. Did I say I love the way this car handles!!! 😝
Edit 4:
I was determined to prove to myself a 2:08 with my hamfisted scruff of the neck style was doable in the porker
And that's me done

I always forget this. When I experience it again I'll try to save and share what I mean.Watch the replay back and compare the entry speeds and exit speeds
Had this too when practising, so I made sure that it didn't happen during a race. When practicing the Daytona pit entry yesterday, I noticed a couple of times as the AI took over control it steered the car to the right, bouncing off an invisible wall on the edge of the pit lane. I imagine that could slow down your pit stop a bit.
I'm the same.I always forget this. When I experience it again I'll try to save and share what I mean.
Welcome to the party.Catalunya:
What. Is. Wrong. With. People?
Nine out of ten races has been absolute purified horror. I am so done. No thanks. Nope. Nope. Nope.
(Sorry, I just had to vent.)
I'm not having much fun there either - I don't think the slightly OTT track limit penalties help, as they seem to lead to some desperate weaving and blocking. Hope they nerf the AWD cars a bit in the next update - one-make races are a bit dull (and I prefer RWD cars)Catalunya:

I did! There's also the 2nd problem, the quicker you go into the pits the quicker you'll come out. I'll be doing a video on it at some point. Here's the one about different times;I'm the same.
I always imagined that it took the closing speeds because their animation would play fractionally quicker etc.
There are also some cars that get out of the pits faster due to gearing. @Tidgney did a video on it.
There might be something weird but for example at brands last week, I'd have a good delta but enter the pits from the tight inside line, others wide and sweep cough just cut across cough and they had faster deltas especially if they didn't **** the outer wall like I typically did.
Thanks for your thoughts on this. Sounds about right. And kind of a relief to hear that I am not the only one struggling.Welcome to the party.
Across 3 accounts spanning the US and EU/EMEA this race is a tough one.
I said in my practice laps post this will feel touring car-esque and it does. Add in less than ideal car control, DR thirst it's a recipe for chaos.
Add in the fact people don't bother practicing or doing TT you end up with this sort of race.
I do think this is one of those "be careful what you wish for" things.
The circuit isn't great for overtaking because of the nature of the in field. Makes me think that PD resisted using it for the greater good.
Also unintended consequences, we now have a B race that prioritises over aggressive position taking in 2 hairpins and 3 corners that run out to gravel.
Because a track hasn't been used for competitive racing doesn't mean it should just because.
Especially when it's a one make race dressed as a gr4 race. It's a 2 make race at best but realistically.....
To address your question, short race, technical track, and being a one make race...that is why.
It's my time and I got it first 🤣Snap! @newmedia_dev
Though yours must be a fraction quicker 🔬

I think I'm done with trying to improve on B though - those seemingly random track limits (I know they're not) a pixel off at the wrong angle seems to trigger a .5 or 1 second depending on how the game feels.
yeah, I gotta agree - I'm enjoying tokyo more as a tt, trying out the different cars. (porsche is also my fav) But my one and , so far, only race, most of us survived turn 1 (hooray!), then everyone went full on rage berzerker through the rest of the first sector. I realize it is only three laps, but must everyone drive so desperate all the time?!It's my time and I got it first 🤣
In all candidness I haven't enjoyed this week so far but I fall back on my love of TT and chucking road cars around a city circuit has been massively carthaic. I love my racing, but I know when to fold em and chucking a Porsche round a street circuit is fun. I wish this was a TT to be honest.
I dunno, I'm a having a great time with it. I've won 6 of the eight races I've had there so far.Welcome to the party.
