@brockie Congratulations on your victory. I know how that feels, it feels like making a home run at a baseball game. You show the crowd what you're capable of, sheer wills of steel. Tbh, I'm not a fan of Spa, I hate the last chicane before the finish line. It can kill your lap if you don't use caution during the right/left turn. I'm proud I got 7 wins and I enjoyed every single moment of them. Keep going mate, :)

I'll be back soon.

Race A is brilliant. I love the little Scirocco, never really driven it before this week. Can't remember the last time I spent any real amount of time driving an FF car either.

Did a few races yesterday, finished 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 2nd. Had really good battles in all of them, and not a single idiot was found.

Shame it's not for DR but I don't mind that when it's actually fun!

So, the guy in the middle is about to get passed by 2 cars going in to turn 6, me in the yellow Scirocco on the left and a car on the right, so he decides to take us both out 🤷🏻‍♂️. We both survive and he rage-quits. It actually took some skill to get both of us.

That's amazing skill.

You really caught the feel of the moment in your clip, with the dramatic slow motion and all....

That’s it, took the afternoon off to get some Spa done! Although my t300 is more akin to driving a truck simulator 🤣 I’m hanging in there
You got me thinking...I got a bunch of work stuff done early, a 'Spa Day' seems in order...

With you, though, lovin' it. Lack the talent/patience/interest to pilot the Supra but was able to get the 911 into the mid-sixteens so eager to go race for a bit. Lunch hour is looking like it might be better spent driving...food's overrated anyway.🤣

Good luck out there!

Spa day indeed bro 😁

I’m abit of a meta follower but as you also know I do like the Porsche too, I just watched tidgney video so I’m going for a 2.16 if I can get there, it should be possible if the stars align etc!

The supra does seem to drive well since the update, because i never used it prior.

But I may have to stick some laps in the Porsche now just in case those 6 tenths are sat there waiting for me 😆

🙏

Edit. Yeehaa jesters dead

Anyone else have got a download :queued" like this?

Everyone on PS5 will have the 32GB 1.54 update available to download:

If it's queued, you don't have enough space to download it.

Did 6 races at deep forest this week up until now. After 5 races of being pummeled out of T1 or binning it myself in the last sector, I finally had a race without any major crashes. Finished P6 and regained a little bit of DR after all those losses. Last 3 races were with the Audi R8.

After the last race I also tried some quali laps. I had a 1:26:7 with the 911. Could match this with the R8, and after some tries I now have a 1:26:4. That's within 2.3 % of the world's best time, pretty okay for me. I used the tune from Digit's site which I slightly altered:

bar 7/6
comp 21/24
exp 49/46
nat freq 3.00 / 3.60

ini 5
acc 26
bra 44

Still have to do a race with my new quali time. Maybe tonight, else tomorrow.

I appear to have plenty of space available.

I know it says "Installable at 10:00 PM", but is it possible it's not downloadable until 10:00 PM? I doubt it, but I have no other ideas.

I read in a Google search result that someone suggested deleting the queued download, and it would work after that. That doesn't "smell" right, though.

@GrumpyOldMan It was saying "queued" for me too when I started PS5 and after reading this thread I deleted it and redownloaded update. It now says "queued" again after successfully downloading so it appears that this message is for "queued for update" as well.

I can't seem to find the time I need at Spa. I got .5 seconds off of my time, but I need another .5 to get a time I'm comfortable with. I'll try some more, but if I can't do it I'll wait for next week. The combo is fine even if it is used way too often.

At Spa with the Supra I found that it's very beneficial (especially in race) to make Radillon in 6th. I put it when I'm still straight on top of internal Eau rouge curb, just before turning to the right. Well done it gives a sort of DRS for Kemmel straight, I mean, the speed delta with all others cars (Supra also) is ridiculously higher than expected. I'm following those very good advises from Tidgney's after Stavelot, keeping it flat-out till Blanchimont makes the difference. Tonyt i'll work on the mid portion between the end of Kemmel and Stavelot, in order to shave 1-1.5 sec to my actual 2:16.7. By Friday i'll be probably ready to race consistently. Btw the Supra's speed on straigh is insane.
For those who will try, let me know how it goes, especially in race.

You are short shifting the supra?

Sort of, but i think it isn't an actual short shifting, cause the 5th is already "over revs" before turning right. For a fraction of time you'll get the "change gear blink" while on top of the curb and that's the moment when I put in 6th. The compression gives momentum to gain speed more and better than when putting the 6th exiting the Radillon, i noticed.

With the supra you want to shift at about 80% as that's where torque drops off.

Do you mean that is even better to put the 6th before, downhill toward Eau rouge?
You can do it before or on the curb and both are fine.

I was going to record a video but in offline mode the on Gr3 car available is the RX vision on race hards which isn't as easy to take flat (but you can obviously short shift it to see the behaviour just the grip level is very different.
