Also my UPS man dropped my replacement fanatec wheel base today (sorry to that guy I rear ended whilst I re-learn to use a load cell again)

If anyone want to suggest ways for me to get around the track more quickly, I'm open to suggestion.

You can turn in harder and tighter to the first hairpin that will be good for 2/10s or more if you get good drive out of it.

Try doing the first sector in cockpit cam and possibly a whole lap as the lines feel different and you'll cut the apex a fraction better. Obviously race and drive with your preferred cam but trust me the change of perspective helps a lot.

The rest is just smoothing out braking and acceleration and lifting for the greater carried speed etc
 
Probably just had one of my best 30 minutes since the game came out!

  1. Almost instantly managed to set a Top 150 time at Deep Forest Race B
  2. Entered my first race and at first, was disappointed to only start in P8, especially with some super fast drivers ahead of me!
  3. Was happy to see a familiar face in the lobby (@newmedia_dev) but seems like you got taken out at some point...
  4. Had some close racing and a particular overtake in Lap 4 which I am very happy with and finished in P4 just ahead of a mega driver who was taken out and caught up to me like I was driving an old Ford Fiesta 😅 😂

Here's me having fun at race B qualifying.
I really don't like using the AWD cars, so I tried some RWDs.
I'm racing the F-Type against my Vantage ghost. The first half of the lap is boring, but the twisty parts are a good time with a bit of oversteer. This is not a very fast lap (@1700), but I found out that I could get a better time by being a little more out of control.


If anyone want to suggest ways for me to get around the track more quickly, I'm open to suggestion.
I use A/T & controller with on/off throttle and brake, plus a bunch of assists. I won't be changing any of that.

Well bugger me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I only had time for 4 QT laps and set a poor 1:49.8. That had me a clear half a second quicker than P2. Was an easy race, the Viper is a dream to drive as long as you remember to short shift coming out of turn 1 😉. I pitted on lap 9 and still came out with a massive gap. Long time since I got a win 🏆 and it puts me back into B/S....happy days

I felt really good about this earlier. Even though I ended up down in 8th after all this despite challenging for the win.

Pink car. I don't need to say anymore. Revenge is sweet and I took one for the wider community after he tried to pit me but I'm clever enough to use the brakes.

There is a donkey in my race lol! I overtake as he exits slow in T3 on Lap 1 and he shoves me off in the corner after the tunnel! Then he gets taken out himself lap 3 lol after being rough with others 🤣🤣

FYI - I'm the black Huracan from the top screenshot!

Thanks for the setup! Just got me into top 500 (extremely rare!) and a pole position win in my first race of the week. Is this the same setup as posted for Brands Hatch Indy a few months ago? Worked really well there too. I think the Huracans behind me were a bit confused about what was happening 😂.

No. Well, at least if there is something wrong with you, it's a shared condition.

Lost flavor for them myself but then Barcelona happened. Was slogging around in the WRX and just not getting anywhere other than disinterested. Finally caved and grabbed a Shablambo and started having some fun. Car can be tossed around and it's (almost) fast enough to scratch that Gr.3 itch.

As a bonus, Deep Forest reverse is an insane track, and mostly in a good way. Had some carnage into T1 this morning but it was mostly safe out there. Notched a couple wins so now, even if the rest of the week sucks, I still have something to show for it.🤣

You are welcome, and this is the setup I used at brands Indy which had me in the top 100 all week.

I smashed the G70 there that week.

But I think having done a few races now across my accounts the Lambo is a better/faster car in race. I don't have setup for it and I think I can go off meta in the G70 but it will be lobby dependant.

The banter is our thing, techno and I are friends, competitive friends but the banter is our thing. As are the lap times. I know it looks bad/confrontational it's genuinely not.

We goad each other to go faster and "shizzle talk" each other. He is faster and that is absolutely ok for me :)

He is a cheating lying bastar....

Nah seriously we are all good :)

I'm not using the PC Chris, I just have the PC and PS5 running through the same monitor at the moment until I can afford to buy another wheel setup so I can separate the 2 👍 I'm doing a good bit of iRacing so it has to be all together at the moment 👍
 
We're always good at GTplanet, racing and hanging out with friends from all over the world. I don't care about being faster than anyone, what matters is that I have a good relationship with all the fellow drivers and respect and give them space on the track during races. It's called sportsmanship.

@Tazzy-91 oh, ok. Well good luck with your races this week.
 
Do any of you know a good way tune a rear-wheel drive Gr.4 car for handling?
Even if you haven't tried race B today, what suspension settings generally get good results?
I'm just kinda guessing what I think may work, but I really don't know.

The suspension is largely fine, it's the diff that makes the difference.

I'll do some time in the NSX tomorrow and share the settings but mostly I'll start with the diff settings I'm using, lower the front anti roll bar for turn in. But other wise I'm not sure it's gonna need extreme settings.

I'm not entirely sure, maybe you could look at some users that talk about it on Youtube, and follow their settings that benefit them the most. I did the best I could to help. Take care and good luck out there.

Maybe adjust the camber angle to how you like it, the toe angle, and the anti-roll bar (like Glen said).

I think if we all stopped reacting his fulfilment would very much decrease.

I'm in the minority here, but I don't think we should feed the trolls or give Gizmo food and water after 12am.

See I think, and this is selfish. As a high A, almost and occasionally an A+ driver, I'd quite like everyone to react to drivers like this. Take them out, force them into B and C level racing.

I admit that's selfish but when you're up at A/A+ level, it's a joke when drivers like that can set you back a few races with one pit manoeuvre.

Obviously there's no real solution to bad drivers, but when there's been such a lot posted online and some of the S drivers have mentioned to PD, you'd think it'd be simple to IP address ban someone.

That driver is consistently fast enough for the top 100, they choose to bait us.

High A/low A is all just smoke and mirrors, I'm a b rated or low A rated driver and I QT in the top few hundred...that ranking is not the measure more the pace the lobbies run at.

You really shouldn't pander to that behaviour, one because it causes carnage and two it gives them limelight and a reason. Take your A+ pace and hopefully thinking and don't rise to it.

And I will rise to it - that's my personality. I'm a clean driver, but if you hit me, I'm coming for you. I've done it before and it's cost me SR but if someone ruins my race and next time you're still in the lobby, I'm making you finish last. I am of the opinion that if you buy a position unfairly, the least I can do is give you a receipt even if it's a week later.

Bleh, I slightly improved my NSX Gr.3 and Gr.4 QTs at Laguna Seca and Catalunya, respectively, but forgot to take down my times before the reset.

Anywho... on to this week's dailies! Hopefully I can free up enough time to actually participate in a race or three.

Race A: NSX Type R '02 - 1:53.906 Hard enough by myself, much less with traffic.

Race B: NSX Gr.4 (default settings) - 1:33.869 Trying to push more led to mistakes.

Race C: NSX Gr.3 - 1:50.494 Poor exits out of the chicanes are costing me the most time.
