I know what I want. I want GT7 to be the best GT game ever made. GT5 and GT6 do not fill me with confidence though.

I also want it announced in the same year it is released but far enough away to allow for good buildup before release.

Unlike you, thanks to GT6, I am very confident for the next episode.

And I totally agree with you on the date of announcement :)

There will probably be a lot to come to GT6 over the next few months. And maybe a sort of Spec II re-release with all of the updates for the holiday season. I can see next year being the year of GT7. But I wonder if they'll show off the future of GT6 and maybe the FIA deal at E3 this year.

Still... I can't wait to see what they can do with the PS4. Maybe Fallout 4 will sate my apatite for the near future.

I'm sorry but Sony putting a 1.5 year old game that didn't sell that great and isn't even on their new console in to their conference or even on the show floor is completely pointless and detrimental to their brand. Whilst this forum is full of mega-fans (not hating), you have to remember that the rest of the world don't give a s**t about an FIA (an organisation they probably haven't even heard of) deal, or whether course maker makes it into GT6.

They do, however, give an aforementioned s**t about GT7, a shiny new 1st party AAA game for their shiny new PS4s.

I'm in shock that this thread is still open and the hopefuls are still hoping (only to disappoint themselves as always then whine after). I'm mean it's already guaranteed that GT7 won't show at E3, like at all, as stated many times now...

Or maybe he doesn't want you to be disappointed... You should not expect GT7 to be at E3, either.

Do you expect GT7 to be at the Pikes Peak event, or at least another game show before the end of the year?

I don't understand what PD's been doing if they have nothing to show for after 1.5 years of development time. We don't need a gameplay trailer, let alone a playable demo. Just some basic news and anything pre-rendered to get people excited. GT, for all its recent stumbles, is still a triple-A franchise that should be teased and always in the conversation. Yet another example of Sony/PD marketing/development/budgeting failures.

Since when do they need to? And since when has Sony been a "marketing/development/logistical failure"? Isn't Sony the one with the skyrocketed eighth gen console sales? Yes. They can afford to take their time on whatever they want, and because PDI is subsidized by SCE, they can appear as they please essentially. Why would they rush out alpha or beta images of a game to go against the kickstart Project CARS and the niche filling F1 2015. We'll get something when they make it. Not when everyone wants it. Patience is a virtue I'm realizing millions of people were born without. If you're a GT fan, find that virtue and wait with the rest of us.

I think GT7 will just be announced out of nowhere like GT6 was, the lack of a presence of PD at a major gaming expedition doesn't necessarily rule out an announcement in the coming months.

That being said, I wouldn't expect to get my hands on the game for quite some time.

Notice I didn't ask for them to rush anything. Games are announced at E3 with little more than a logo and some basic info, maybe a teaser trailer with target footage. That's all I'm asking for, and that is in no way a tall order. I'm not saying GT7 needs to come out this year, or even this time next year. Just something to drum up excitement. And yes, Sony has been failing at that as of late, considering Microsoft has the majority of first-party exclusives people actually want. It's not a question of patience, just good marketing sense which Sony seems to lack where Gran Turismo is concerned.

Drumming up hype for a game that could be two years out doesn't make sense. We aren't talking Half Life 3, this is Gran Turismo, a game for a very polarizing and highly critical community. They need to time it to where it'll remain in people's minds just long enough. Anything more than a year out and I'd bet a lot of people would end up biding out of buying it.

It is actually weird that Sony won't announce it at E3 since their first party output for the holidays is a letdown.

I think it's better to wait till next year, they can work on making the game great. I think a Spec 2.0 update is coming to GT6 very soon and will include all the features that were promised to us, that haven't yet been released. That will hopefully satisfy the majority of the people on GTPlanet.

...I think the site owner counts.
He does, but he has explicitly not said that GT7 won't be showing at E3, I have made this a clear point in my previous posts.
All he has to say is "GT7 will not show at E3", it is a very simple sentence, and one that has not been used. The reason is because he doesn't know or is not able to say. Either way the fact remains there is no concise information regarding GT7 and E3 showing.

...:indiff: Whatever the case, E3 is mere weeks away. We will know for sure then.

I'm betting on a "GT7-no-show" on Sony press event. Simple.

I did say I'm hoping for a closed-door beta showing to a select journos on the Sony booths but other than that, quell yer fires, ye restless souls.

You're right, because who knows if GT7 will be at E3 or not this year. Only time will tell.

Jordan is very close to PD and Sony. If you look at previous news articles here on GTP, Jordan has had many interviews with Kaz and even the executives from Sony. You may assume what he said was simple, but all he's trying to do is prevent fans from expecting GT7 to appear at E3 and then be disappointed about it.

I have not said he has said something simple. I said he can say something simple like "GT7 will not show at E3". But he has not said such a thing. So no one should be saying it's guaranteed GT7 won't show. It's just common sense for all to see. I'm not sure what the issue is.

There are no issues, but it's true. There hasn't been any solid source about GT7 being at E3 either, because before Jordan stepped in everybody was just guessing and wishing GT7 to show up at E3 would happen. Therefore, after Jordan's post, it's guaranteed that GT7 would not be at E3. Not sure how that's hard to understand.

If we are to believe that GT7 will be announced in the vain of GT6 too then theres no chance of it being unveiled at all this year. Andrew House basically said that Sony will have no huge titles in 2015 as its a year of 'investment' for the company...and then went on to talk about TV Shows, VR and basically everything normal gamers don't care about.

He said "sparse" not "no...titles".
There will be some AAA 1st party games from now until April 2016.
We'll see. He couldn't just come out and say 'no titles', I'm sure we will have some indie titles to look forward to and thats about it.

(In 2015)

In the end it I guess it doesnt matter all too much if GT7 is at E3 or not. The game most likely will launch Q4 2016 whether they unveil next month or next year.

Whens the last time a GT game was first shown at E3? 2008? People keep talking about marketing, Turn 10 is killing it, GT is not.

Isn't Persona 5 AAA? plus Uncharted will release before May, would still have loved GT7 for the holidays though, the PS4 has been out for a while and still not even a mention of the biggest Playstation Franchise.

I guess you could say that the Persona franchise has become AAA because it has now reached the mainstream market, thanks to Persona 3 and 4 way back in the PS2 era. As for GT7, yes the PS4 has been out for a while now but I think that they aren't planning any announcements soon since they're still busy pushing out content for GT6, and at the same time developing GT7. You have to stop to think and consider that GT7 is also a AAA game, which takes years to develop.

Yes, but you're forgetting that it takes 2 - 4 years to develop a PS4 Game Compared to how it takes 3 - 5 years for a PS3 Game to be developed.
