This sounds almost too good to be true, a feature that just makes it better? Why wouldn't that just be on by default?
If it's off it's because I've never heard of it.

The Honda RA272 on the Nordschleife with heavy rain at night is a blast in V2!
No headlamps!
Yeah this is what I meant. Should fix the issue.moby323 and I are talking about the same thing. To enable Tracking Support on PSVR 2, go to Settings > Accessories > PlayStation VR2 > Tracking Support and turn the option on. It's off by default because it displays a zig-zag pattern as a border around your monitor display, and not everyone needs or wants that border there. The border is used by the headset as a location datum reference. But if you don't have an audience, you might as well enable it because whatever the lighting, or not, with it enabled you shouldn't get any tracking issues. That said, in showroom mode, most people get the slight 'drifting' that you're talking about, even with Tracking Support enabled. It might be the case that the game (in VR) is always prone to the slight drifting but that we simply don't notice it when bowling down the Mulsanne Straight at 200mph!
In my experience drift is caused almost entirely by the lighting situation. Almost always the room can be brighter, but I think the evenness of the lighting also plays a factor, like if your room is lit by table lamps as opposed to an overhead light. Some people buy infrared lights which brighten the room A LOT in the infrared spectrum which is what the tracking cameras use without making the room brighter to the human eye. Lastly one thing that is useful is for the camera to have lines to use as a reference. If your room has a lot of blank wall space it has fewer reference. People have reported improved tracking by hanging a painting with strong lines on it on the wall.Yeah, the tracking support option can also be useful if you want to play in a darker room, sometimes I play single player with the really obnoxious lamp I have beside my rig turned off using that.
I usually don't use it though, mainly because I play usually without the TV turned on, no reason to keep it on it nobody's watching or I'm not using the tracking support.
I've been suspecting if maybe the drift is caused by the steering wheel being like only a couple of feet from the head unit, causing the depth perception of the room based off of the unit's cameras to sometimes be wonky. I sure didn't have any drift whatsoever in RE8 from my couch. Otherwise it just is some GT7 oddity I guess.
EDIT - I bet drift could be reduced if you get a really good room scan, I'll try being more thorough later and seeing if that helps. I feel like I notice it mostly in the showroom because, well I'm looking around more, and certain points of the view are obscured by the rig in front of me, plus it is just metal bars and a wheel, so it probably does make tracking a bit difficult. I definitely feel like I've gotten drift when I lean forward looking around more than not.
Where do you get that track artwork?I've got these on the wall behind my screen. My PSVR2 has never lost tracking.

Yeah. Selling it would be nuts now. Personally, im waiting for this to become ps compatible and then mmo’s etc would become really interesting.I purchased mine mainly for GT7.
If no more games come out, I would still keep it just for this game.
Everything is better in VR.
licences are no longer boring to complete and my racing has improved.
Online racing though, in VR, is only on this device for console and it’s awesome.
In many ways when I look at PSVR1. I have kept that for 4 games.
Skyrim,
Dirt rally,
Wipeout,
Hitman.
One more racing game though on psvr2, fingers crossed.
F1 or a dirt game would be perfect.
Also on a side note
Medieval dynasties looks promising.
No, they're just the large. And yes.Man this is amazing! Are those the super size option? They are expensive...
I already put money aside for that. 😂 What’s tempting me however is a DD wheel.i am cheking several times a week for news on ps5 pro, thats how much I want to treat my psvr2. There might not be an insane rush for preorders for the pro I would expect, but I still want to be a day 1 pro owner.
Me too.I already put money aside for that. 😂 What’s tempting me however is a DD wheel.
Many games got a nice boost in VR performance on the PS4 Pro (I actually think GTS was among them?)Unfortunately, I’m not confident that PS5 pro will do much for PSVR2, as the PS4 Pro didn’t do a whole lot for PSVR1. As someone who loves to get stuff on launch day, this might be one where I let the reviews come in first
To me, it was a “seat of the pants” improvement. But I will agree, that GT7 was made for VR, whereas GTS was not. Hopefully it offers improvements. But I think I’ll still wait for the reviews. Bring that GT7 is pretty much the only PS game I play, if the improvements aren’t extremely noticeable, then I might be more apt to put that $$ towards a PCMany games got a nice boost in VR performance on the PS4 Pro (I actually think GTS was among them?)
I would actually fully expect GT7 to take advantage of the new hardware in some form.
Plus all the money real car costs.Drove my real car this morning, worse than VR, do not recommend.
Its one of my goals to have a 'track Car' within the next 10 years, but given that Sim racing technology is only going to keep improving, and costs will most likely keep coming down, I have a feeling my money will be better spent on all the latest and greatest when that time comes. Hell, the only thing we technically don't have to provide pretty damn accurate experiences, would be a haptic-dynamic gear shifter/transmission, that with a couple mouse clicks, would be able to emulate any gear box from any car. The shift throws, the gear splits, the feeling of a missed gear, the feeling of when you nail a shift.... all there!!Plus all the money real car costs.
