It is, without doubt, the future. While VR has been out for years, I think this is the first racing game to fully show its potential, and I think it will start to snowball.

I’ve had multiple VR sets over the past decade but I play GT7 in VR more than all other VR games I’ve ever played combined.
I agree but the other way around, recently set up a pc with accetto corsa modded and a quest 2 and haven't touched gt7 since. Better visuals better ffb and loads more content. Gt7 is brilliant in vr but ac is better. The setup cost considerably more than ps5 and vr2, and took some effort tuning but was well worth it. I also run dof reality rig, haptics and logitech dd pro.

Yet not a single relatively big streamer uses it, even if they own one. It's weird.

That doesn’t seem weird to me. Playing VR is amazing. Watching someone else play, not so much. Besides, how would you read the chat, or respond?...its just not practical yet.

I do wish that the output to the tv’s view could be different than the VR perspective. The full on replay cam, or a variation, would be awesome for people to watch as someone tore it up with vr.

Also, most of those guys are young and have many many more miles on flat than driving a real car. Let alone spending time learning to be quick with one. Consequently, VR isn’t the wonderful return to driving i love. Instead, its a bit of a threat to their business model. That said, fast forward a few years in an era where one could spectate from vr and things will get a bit more interesting. For this gen though, i’d be surprised if anything changed.

You can't really interact with the viewers if you've got a big thing on your face preventing you from reading chat and stuff. VR isn't good for streaming.

That would take the rendering resources of a second PS5, so it ain’t gonna happen anytime soon!

Have they added the leader board yet? I love playing in VR, but I hate not knowing where everyone is. It's not like I have a crew chief or spotter.

Not yet. It is absurd not having it
I haven’t complained about not having a leaderboard….but yesterdays FIA race is one where I really could have used one as a tool to see what strategies everyone was on. In two races, I ducked in for tires and came out in traffic. Had I a leaderboard like in flat screen where I could see what everyone else was…or wasn’t doing, I wouldn’t have made that mistake

That’s why I like looking at the Lap Counter at Goodwood. Daytona should activate the tower.

It's either that, or gold painted midgets with marquee boards..

Of course, the third option could be a slide in the existing VR deck..

Okay, makes sense for streaming. But what about the guys who do video commentary for their race highlights? Though there are a couple of people out there that do that from time to time.

Maybe I just don't understand because I am now at least as fast as I was on flat but I'm not really that fast.

I'd love to see some kid come up the ranks in VR and school these guys. Maybe one day.

@Supercededman Kie indeed does do that but he only races in Daily A. And I really don't understand his logic as to what @Met Entso is referring to (road car vs race car). It's likely just an excuse to stick with Race A. I believe my track awareness is greater with VR.

Also, as far as viewing goes, I much prefer watching VR. As long as the driver isn't whipping his head around the whole time, marveling at the sights as if he is donning the headset for the first time. No one with more than an hour on the thing ever does that.

Gotta second the idea... PSVR2 is a game changer. GT7 has its faults, but now for a tick over one grand, one can enjoy some absolutely stunning gameplay.
I'm also to the point of being able to put any car in any track. Once the Ferarri 250 GTO comes around, I'll get it and have one of every single car in the game.
With the VR, car choice takes on some new roles. Does the car have what I need on the dash? Is the dash too bright ('97 F1 GTR), unusable (F1500 t/a, 917k, Trans Am), confusing (Xbow), inaccurate (911 RSR), or just right? Can I see out of the car? How much head room is there? Do the mirrors suck?

What is inaccurate about the RSR?

The stuff you can change mid race doesn't change on the RSR's displayed wheel. Fuel map comes to mind. It just stays on 0.
The MFD, if you use it, displays the correct info.
Ah yeah, I noticed that a long time ago but didn’t think it was exclusive to the RSR. I swear the same issue applies on any race car wheels that display similar info. I kinda presumed it’s because not every car uses the same range of settings/numbers that GT7 does via the MFD, which is of course consistent across every car.

Are people still using those recommended visual settings that were mentioned bsck along... toning down brightness on headset, then increasing certain settings within gt7?

There's been several updates since, and wonder if default or something ekse is now 'optimum' instead?

Yup, still using them

I crank the brightness up one notch below max. Too dark for me otherwise, and usually go + 1 or +2 on the exposure correction in game unless the whites get blown out too much. 🤷‍♂️

I think Kie would use Race A so as not to damage his ratings?

When racing with PSVR2, all notifications come up to the screen and blocks a certain part of the track - apex, a car - and it's distracting. I've turned off all my notifications already but they still keep showing up on the VR.

Any tips how to stop notifications from showing up at all. Every freaking thing - friends that go online, someone joined the party, etc. shows up and it's really annoying.
