The package arrived today, one week after ordering. Considering it was shipped from China to Europe, I consider it express delivery. Well protected, nice packaging.

Very easy assembly, 5 minutes, and you can start playing. The first thing that caught my eye was the quality of craftsmanship. It's premium, and you can see they didn't skimp on materials. The cushions are very soft and pleasant to the touch.

I only tested one of them, the one with the leather and cooling gel. In reviews, this one had the worst ratings because it doesn't allow air to pass through, so I wanted to try the worst one first, so it could only get better if it was hopeless. But there was no need to exchange it... ;)

Impressions after 2 hours of playing (two sessions of 1 hour each):

Pros:

  • Comfortable, I don't feel like I have anything on my head at all,
  • The central additional strap takes a lot of pressure, so the forehead can rest,
  • No marks on the forehead!
  • The gel cools the forehead and the back of the head for up to 30 minutes,
  • I sweat much less, even after a longer time,
  • The sweet spot doesn't budge at all; the goggles stay firmly on the head, as if they were glued,
  • No headaches, no neck pain,
  • The rear circular element keeps the goggles in place.

Cons:

  • The goggles are noticeably heavier, although when they are on the head, you don't feel the difference because they fit so well,
  • Different way of putting on the goggles, you have to extend the front before putting them on because the top strap blocks the ability to slide them in, although it's not inconvenient; it's just a matter of habit.

That's it. For me, there are more pros than cons; I am satisfied. I will definitely check the other included options (fabric and fabric with cooling gel).

Would I buy them again? Definitely yes.

Should you buy them? It depends on whether you currently feel any discomfort. If you sweat a lot, lose the sweet spot, and are bothered by constantly adjusting the goggles or if you have any pains, I definitely recommend it.

I won't go back to the silicone junk that Sony installed as standard.

I downloaded Project Wingman the other day just to see how I did on its VR flight missions. I don’t suffer motion sickness in anything and have no issues on GT7, but I thought a flying game might do it. But nope, had no issues, so really looking forward to Aces of Thunder. Just wish it was a modern jet game and not old prop planes LOL
i watched a few reviews of Wingman and there isn't any scale on the difficulties and the graphics get bad in a lot of areas. Aces looks good with classic planes... im not crazy about wanting to fly an F16. Most modern planes don't get into dogfights so it makes sense to use older plans that went through them

Despite my criticism of GT7.

PD did a great job with VR. The experience and the immersion making it addictive day by day.

Helmet cam onboard videos I watched so many times can now be played in my own room.

I hope other racing games follow suit. If anybody has the money go buy it its an experience that cant be missed even if its one game.

I didn’t say it was a good game, I just wanted to fly in VR. And it’s still pretty cool for that.
I still wish Aces had both. I don’t care about every flight game being a realistic sim. Ace Combat in VR would be, er, aces.

VR with gt7 is a true game changer. The immersion is incredible. Only thing i would like to have is the option to switch to a native 60 or 90hz mode.

I too recorded my full 32-lap Manufacturers Cup race (GT1 / A+ lobby) in VR. The race was generally very clean (and quite competitive) and the drivers were respectful to each other. A lot of fun in VR.

I qualified 5th and did the first 7 laps on RH tires (the guys in front of me at the start were on softs). I pitted for softs on laps 7 and 20. Finished the race 4th.

fOR Those who haven't gotten the chance to get VR2 yet, let me tell you that GT7 was actually made for VR2 from the start, we just didn't see it until now.

i got VR2 on day 1, and after 3 weeks of getting used to it back then, there was no way of going back.
PS5 VR2 is worth alone just for GT7.
(There will be other great titles coming in the furture, but for now GT7 and No Man's Sky will do just fine for me)

Just like every Playstation console i have ever owned, i bought them just for GT games.
i got Gt7 when it came out to play on PS4 Pro that i got for GT Sport, and both titles ran just fine on the PS4 Pro.

When VR2 was announced, i was debating and was on the fence to get PS5, but was honestly not convinced yet due to the financial jump with the PS5.

One week before the official release of VR2, and after watching all the early reviews, i decided to "pre-order" at the last minute.
I got the PS5 with VR2 on day 1 release, booted up GT7 right away... Was blown away.

TOTALLY WORTH IT. GT7 is a totally different game with VR2... and everyone saying how GT7 is boring... well sadly for you, you haven't tasted VR2 yet.

Quite disappointed on VR side, no update to the HUD/UI whatsoever.
That's a shame.

Full HUD functionality as per flatscreen doesn't seem an unreasonable expectation.

What would really be a treat is a mappable button to display the HUD, either whilst the button is held down or as a toggle, I'm not fussy. That way we can enjoy the no HUD VR experience as it should be, but without having to be completely oblivious to everything else that's happening.

I will say though, no HUD and the Spa 1hr is a lot of fun, watching the sky to judge the weather coming in, guessing whether to pit or not for intermediates and so on, trying to feel whether it's time to switch back to slicks...

I don't mind it. I have live timing in the real race car, but still cannot see my gap to those in front or behind, other than out the windscreen and in the mirror. I wouldn't mind having the option, of course, but I would likely still leave it off most of the time.

Im pretty happy with the update…also am okay that there was no vr2 updates. Id prefer pd work on more cars and track options and expansions of the core game as they did in this update

I'm also fairly chilled about the update as they've done a lot to the core game and the AI driver update should - I hope - make a big improvement for me, who does not race online because of all the idiot driving and moaning that goes on. I also feel the same with the race data - in real life I had pit boards for the gaps but no weather radar and no idea when others were pitting or what tyres they had. We had to use our eyes and focus on our own strategies. More data would be nice but it doesn't stop me enjoying the game in VR.

I had more blackout issues while trying to run license test S-7. The worst it's ever been was when I tried to run a the Super Formula menu book, which was completely unplayable in any Super Formula car with the headset. I tried running S-7 for gold yesterday and the headset blacked out on every single corner. Whether or not I actually moved my head made no difference, if I even looked in the direction of the corner, my PSVR2 would black out on me.
Afterwards I ran the Spa 1 hour and the Le Mans 30 minute race. I had one blackout at Spa on the Kemmel in an Audi e-tron. I leaned my head WAY over to the left to cause it. O ran the white 787B that I used in last week's Nations Cup at Le Mans and could not force a blackout at all.
I've had this issue on missions, too.
I don't mind the missing leaderboard and system messages in VR mode, but the blacking out needs to be fixed!

The 'green cage of death' is caused when your head is too close to the boundaries of movement allowed for the particular car you are driving. If you get 'the cage' moving your head to the right, start your VR session with your head to the left a little. If you get it very frequently, move your head up to start, so that your POV becomes lower in the VR seat ...or move it forwards so that your POV is further back. It's the POV and how close it is to the boundary that is important. Also, try to stop moving your head about so much as you are obviously moving about a lot more then most people do. I found this to be a great improvement in keeping me planted in my seat > https://sinclairdesign.com/blog/sim-racing-flexible-harness-for-vr

Never had those issues and i did one menu book that was added some time ago just last week and using super formula car...

unless they changed something in this update i had no issues before so i assume i will not have them now.

Try cleaning the external cameras and configure the headset all over again.

If you moving your head to much youll exit the boundaries so try to correct your posture i guess..

The only reason I want deltas, and a map with peoples position, is because everyone else has them. And in these longer FIA races they’ve been giving us…when in high splits, this stuff can matter when you need to call audibles on pit strategy due to other peoples tire choices, where you’ll come out in traffic ect.
