GT7 & PSVR2

I think it’s fair to say this will become the pinnacle racing VR experience. Yes, even compared to a 4 grand+PC with additional high-end VR headset and visually leading titles like ACC. Which will still in ways, be outclassed with GT7s graphics and lighting. With no fuss in setup, using PS5, as well as the hardware/software being better optimised too.

Yet even more, for car enthusiasts, the included ability as we had hoped to be able to enjoy viewing ALL the cars in such detail both exterior and interior.

This May Be A Milestone In Gaming!

To be honest... this hype feels that way. GT7 in that fidelity in full VR is title of similar scope as Half Life Alyx it can really bring some more people to VR scene.
I really hope that GT7 in VR is big sign for other racing* games to go for full VR support on PS5. Maybe F1 2022 won't get VR support, but I hope F1 2023 or new WRC game and maybe Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will go for that support.

*(and vehicles games in general, looking at you Ace Combat :D )

From Japanese site GameWatch interview,Kaz is in Europe right now.I don't know if it's google trqnslate but it just sounds like Kaz is humblebragging 😂😂

It is re-projection though 👍

All PS VR games on PS4 use reprojection to reach ""120FPS"", besides those that run natively at 90 or 120 which are a handful

Thanks for the precision! I thought that PSVR was not capable of reprojection. That explains why GT sport and many other games look so smooth.

Sorry Auditore for pointing out a mistake which wasn't one 🙏 My bad!

DualSense and PS VR2 impressions sound very good. I was worried moving your head in-game and using a pad would be disorientating. For many pad users it would be a stretch to pick-up PS VR2 and a full wheel set-up in one go.
Well, I’ve decided to go all in and get a wheel & seat. Will juggle my finances and sell some memorabilia. New experiences are what matter to me. Do I want a model car sat on my shelf, or enjoy it to the full in VR?

This feels like the first time I saw Ridge Racer on the cover of Edge magazine and heard it was coming to PSONE. A transformative change that changes the genre on consoles.

Good choice. And you will enjoy other racing titles on wheel!
Lets hope more PSVR2 racing games are coming!

I wonder what it’s like to play it with the controllers, I always imagine everyone will be using a wheel when of course they won’t be.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 in PSVR2: New Footage and Hands-On First Impressions

I just got back from a trip to PlayStation’s North American headquarters where I had the chance to be one of the first people to play Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, and I’m here to tell you all about it...
Jordan, almost your whole article and feedbacks have been quoted and translated by the number one video game news French Youtuber Julien Chièze. He cites gtplanet many times so I hope it brings some new blood to the site as well 😁

That's exactly how I feel, including the Edge magazine moments,....not felt this way about something videogame related since the advent of 3D graphics.

The future is almost here (for those Edge readers amongst us :D)

I remember having that experience too. I think Edge was new then too.

Pre-ordered! This is even better than I was hoping it might be. Now I need to somehow wait 3 weeks :-/

At this point, waiting 3 weeks is peanut compared to how long we have been waiting for this experience for over 20 years since the inception of GT...

As for me, I have to be more patient and wait for Christmas 2023... 11 more months.. have to continue being a good boy for Santa Claus...

I checked out Super GT's (Steve Brown) tweet yesterday and he said he was slower and likely will always be slower while using VR. I wonder if he is short-changing himself.
It took me a couple weeks to improve my times in iRacing when I switched from flat screen to VR. One of the reasons was that you don't drive as recklessly because you really feel like you're in that car. Eventually I beat all my previous flat screen bests. One thing that really improved was my consistency, especially with braking. You could see how far from the corners and turns you were with the new depth perception.

That's something I'm really looking forward to. I struggle to hit braking spots consistently especially coming down long straights into chicanes. I feel like I'm guessing because often you have to start the braking process before you can really see the turn coming. Hopefully braking points will be more intuitive then which it sounds to be the case.

This guy got to try it as well:

Starts around the twenty minute mark.

Man...getting an impressive amount of praise. I do agree with them on the concern about titles going forward though. I'm going to be happy just playing GT7 on it mostly (granted it would be an expensive GT7 only device). I've been wanting a VR sim racing setup and since I already have sunk cost into PS5, GT7, and Fanatec GT DD Pro wheel/pedals, the $600 for PSVR2 is a no brainer for me. I kind of gambled on going full PS5 set-up thinking that GT7 would eventually get VR support and it looks to be paying off. Can't wait to experience this. It will be my first VR gaming ever.

So he says that we can finally pass our head through the window! The screen was turning black when you tried to do that in GT sport and it was kinda frustrating!

Did they just improve every single aspect of GT sport? 😁

Everybody seems so much convinced by the game so far, I was expecting it but it's still really good to hear all those superlatives :3

Next gen VR gaming starts in less than 3 weeks!
(((o(゚▽゚)o)))

One would think that you would bump your virtual head onto the virtual window, the same way that you car would hit invisible non existent pit walls in the game...

I had to stop watching the video, those guys are so full of negativity... :/

I really like the dirt driving physics, but I genuinely hate those invisible walls all along the dirt tracks as well... xD Especiallyin VR!

for memory it did exactly the same as with the windows if you moved your head too much over the passenger seat or too much close to the windshield. The screen would just turn black.

Anyway, we are getting rid of pit walls as well as those black window, but I think tgat we are stuck with the rally walls for a long time 😜

FWIW, they sent their biggest Xbox fan for this, I think to eliminate complaints of bias or something. Even he was almost gushing, so I don't think theres much to worry about lol

I have a question for you guys. How does GT7 feel compared to GTS ? Is it much the same ? I was disappointed with GTS as I felt that the track surface feel was non existent, it felt to me like I was driving on a slab of polished marble. No bumps other than the nurburgring. Is GT7 any better in this regard ? I would hate to buy a PS5, VR2 to feel the same lifeless feeling.
