WTF! So you don't even have GT7?! You've been posting on this website, specifically the GT7 forum a lot and you don't even own the game :S Bizzare behaviour to be honest, you post way, way more than many launch owners, myself included.
Different things get different people through the days. I don't go around questioning other peoples choices, I'd appreciate if people didn't belittle my choices either. You don't know my situation.

I come here a lot because I still like to talk about Gran Turismo, as I'm allowed to. I don't use any other social media, I'm not trawling Twitter and Facebook all day, some people do, that's their choice.

It would be incredibly easy for me to pretend I own GT7, but I choose to be honest, even though it's nobody's business but my own why I post here.

Forum staff definitely likes them for whatever reason
And now we're moaning about the staff.

People are entitled to express whatever opinions they like within the Acceptable Use Policy. We will not mandate that only positive opinions about this game - or any other - are allowed. If you don't like seeing negative opinions about this game - or any other - I suggest either using the Ignore function (which is what it's for) and not making a fuss about it, or going somewhere else. Maybe a small box into which you can proclaim only positive statements for yourself.

So. How about that update that's coming in two days, eh?

He hinted.

Edit: Okay, let me hint less and more overtly state.

ENOUGH WITH THE COMPLAINING ABOUT COMPLAINTS

All you're doing is perpetuating the complaining you're complaining about and dragging the thread off-topic, turning it into exactly the thing you're complaining about - a pit of negativity.

There's a game update coming in two days, and the people who claim they like the game are more interested in complaining about people who don't than being excited for it.

If I have to delete any more posts carrying on the complaining about complaining (even the ones that also say nice things about me), I'm handing out temporary bans.

The Porsche Cayman is a car that they should have added to GTSport straightaway but they didn't for some reason. I mean they had the Gr4 model which is almost the same as road car model. Probably licensing issues I suppose...

And the same with the VW Scirocco and Bettle

Wonder what sneaky engine swaps will be added. Personally would be nice to Audi V10 or Ferrari V8 go into something.
Be nice.It would be even better if we could buy the engines rather than the lottery ticket.Ive`won`2 engine swaps via the tickets but closed the game after opening them as they are ones i already have, hoping after the update they change.

I think it will be crap 🤪

Sorry 'bout that. I never comment on updates before they have come out.

Just save all tickets for each update, this way you have big chance to recive some of the engine swaps
That would only work if they increased the chances of getting engines in said new update. They have previously changed the odds of what you can get in each ticket, but nothing significant and I wouldn’t expect that to happen. When you are awarded a ticket your prize has already been determined, the wheel spinning is just for show before you actually get what they gave you via the ticket.
It is what it is.

No, the prize is determined only when you open it.

That's why saving the "bad" ones until after the update is worthwhile; most will remain "bad" (because most prizes are "bad") but some will become less "bad" - maybe even "good". However all draw a different set of not-prizes even if they remain the same prize.

It's only about one in 10 that will change for the better, as it's only about one in 10 that the prize you receive isn't the smallest amount of credits possible for that level of ticket.

I almost hope it's not the official MP4/4 just so we hopefully won't lose it in the next Gran turismo game. I'm still really pissed about losing the Mercedes W08 F1 car, and the Ferrari F10 and F2007. I like the super formula, but I've said it a million times, the W08 was a million times more fun to drive in my opinion.

I'll take a Faux1 rather than a license that only lasts for the duration of a single game.

Or if Polyphony is going to represent the BIGGEST parts of motorsports (F1 and Open wheel in general) with just a couple cars, maybe they should put a higher priority on bringing them back in the future. Just a thought...

All of these are problems with the type of roadmap as a whole though rather than the concept of a roadmap. It doesn't necessarily need to be "On April 17th we will do THIS and add THIS car" it can just be something like

Q2 2022
  • 12 new cars
  • 2 new tracks
  • Hotfixes addressing common issues (Weather Radar, Lobby instability).
  • Implementation of paid Time Trial events online
  • 1 new mission pack

You don't need to worry about exact contents or dates or listings or whatever but its nice to know that the developers are actively working on the game, importantly in the areas that need working on.

I can almost guarantee you this forum alone would cut down on a lot of its issues with the game by at least 50% if they had written somewhere that Car Selling is due by the end of Q3. That's all they need to do, and that type of roadmap is all that new players need to see to know the game is on the mend. It's such a big window that there is absolutely no way they will miss it considering it's just 1 feature, yet it would settle a lot of community distrust. That, in my eyes, is a million times better than silence.
Wow, this thread has moved on a lot in 24hrs.

I do see your point in that better communication helps. However, the sort of roadmap you are describing is an old software development model.

With agile development, which I am assuming PD are using, with monthly sprint cycles, a modern roadmap looks different.

Nowadays, development roadmaps don't have quarters or dates on them, they are just Now, Next and Later. Exactly because people have date expectations when other things can arise.

Taking your Q2 2022 example. If that was what was released back in Q1, everyone would be complaining because we've only had one track Watkins Glen. And there was no mention of the time that was spent fixing glitches and allowing the saving of custom races. Which might not have even been on the roadmap back in Q1 but was worked on because lots of people requested it.

Obviously, I'm making up that scenario just to make the point, but the fact remains that dated roadmaps or delivery plans can lead to misunderstandings and heightened expectations.

Especially with a stakeholder group that complain when given 3 new cars for free that they are not the cars they specifically want.

Plus some people prefer to be surprised.

Question to the crowd…

How many of you guys have gone back to playing previous Gran Turismo titles more than you play GT7?
Nope. Although I loved the car lists of GT2 and GT4 and some of the tracks. They didn't have custom races.
Plus the graphics are much better now. Even just PS5 GT7 compared to PS4 GTSport.

For me it's especially the physics that prevent me from ever going back to previous entries most of all but honestly I just think gt7 is the best by a mile. Don't see much reason to go back other than nostalgia for specific cars or tracks.

Previous GTs had better career modes I guess (i still think GT7s presentation is better but the lack of standing starts really sucks) but frankly, even with the better AI gt7 has I'm still just not that interested in racing against AI.

I think that the addition of the Mclaren F1 car should bring more 80s F1 cars. Kinda hallow addition without something to race against, outside of the F1500.

I disagree. Super formula is one of the most fun cars to race in gt sport and gt7. Personally I enjoy spec series and I'd much rather we get other eras represented rather than just add more cars from the same year. Ultimately they will drive very similarly.

What I would really live is a 1979 F1 car, or even better, a Brabham BT46B which for some reason hasn't ever appeared in a racing game that I know of.

BOPed races between FT1500, 4/4 and Super Formula incoming? ;-)

In my opinion that would suck. The super formula is just too different for it to really work. Similar to how the group C cars either are OP or not competitive. Same with the older super gt500 cars.

The 1500 and 4/4 however could definitely work out I think.

Disagree? Why? You wouldn't want Lotus, Benetton, and any others? Sure a spec series is fun and SF19s are basically that anyway. But '80s F1 was not a spec series.

The main thing I wonder is how long will people have to wait to get the game that was advertised? Because if the GT7 package is what Kazunori deems as "complete" then this series' future is quite questionable. Three cars just is not enough to hook people into playing the game, a meager three events isn't either. This game has only been out for a couple of months but already it feels like it needs a total overhaul - a "Spec 2.0".
The game right now just relies on people grinding for credits. Not only our fun in the game is limited by the amount of cars, tracks and events, it's also hindered by the cost of the cars themselves, plus the cost of tuning.

The car list is limited, specially if we compare with Forza, and at 3 cars per month, it's just not enough. Too many omissions to be drip fed in the long term.

The track list is quite stale and in many cases some tracks are heavily underused. A new track every 2 or 3 months is acceptable, as long as it's something unique.

The events in general pay very little, don't make use of all the tracks, lack imagination in cars/track combo, barely any use of the Drag racing mechanic. The only saving grace is that we are scheduled to get the new AI, but as a short term solution, they should just make custom races actually worth doing.

I know this is anecdotal, but I got the "Congratulations on 200 cars" in-game message from Sarah when I had 199 cars!

I had an unopened ticket which, surprise surprise, gifted me with a car (Gr. 4 Atenza).

I recorded the exact same thing happening for a trophy... but it happened the moment I clicked to open the ticket which awarded the car.

I have been going back to the classics here and there for years, being that there are things I miss from them, but....

....with the new games, there are things that have been addressed and added that players used to ask for.

Many didn't like the way classic Gran Turismos layed out the career path, and how the cars sounded, lack of customization etc. (Recalling how we couldn't do custom paint jobs until Gran turismo 5 lmao)

When Gran Turismo 5 came out, many didn't like the standard cars being included, which I understand, but it was nice to have those cars available just to play with.

Now, they are making ALL the cars from the ground up, and adding "new" cars with time... but maybe not fast enough for some.

To combat my gripes I do tend to go back to GT3, GT4, AND GT6 sometimes. (Other titles too)

I guess that's the best way to cope until GT7 becomes more acceptable.
