You're definitely not alone on this...

Different perspectives, and also, Gran Turismo, as a game, is just racing and driving. It's not a story based game where you indeed have to play it first hand to get the true experience of both the story and gameplay (games like The Last of Us, Horizon, God of War for example).
The person in question has played all GT games and follows the GT news, which is enough to get an idea of how bad/good the game is. The only thing he can't speak about (because he did not experience it) is the driving physics.

And finally someone with power says it without beating it around the bush... In full size caps to boot. But unfortunately, the trend of complainers about complaints will still not end. But hey, at least it will aliviate things for a bit.

Agree. F1 is a bit tricky because of the official F1 game.

But at the very least, just a few of the older ones that have become icons in motorsport history, should have an effort to be part of this game.

I wouldn't even mind not having events for these cars, like a championship based on them. But just driving them and making CUSTOM races with them would be worthwhile.

MP4/4, F2004, W11, FW14B, older F1s like the Tipo 500 and Lotus 72... The current F1 game doesn't have the rights to these cars... right!? Only the current models which are the ones which are used in the game's career mode.
I too was not happy when the W08 did not come back when it was part of a much lesser game.

There isn't... The way you described it is in fact the only wat for you to know the prize of your ticket withoutthe game register the ticket being opened.
So yeah, just accept your fate, open the ticket and be done with it. The likelygood of you getting anything worthwhile for the effort you did of closing the game and reopening it and seeing 15 seconds of pointless animation each time is just not worth it.[/color][/b]
Is this your new purple text saga?

Does a cup of tea count?

Well, it might not be exhaustive, but you've made me exhausted. If you start liisting every model currently on sale, like for Mazda, that's not a very good reason to expect them in GT.

And one last word on the Aventador-example. There's already two Aventadors in game, and you're basically listing 3 more. The Sian is basically an Aventador with a little hybrid capacity bolted on, and the Countach is a facelifted Sian, so both share lots of parts with the Aventador. I think there's time better spent than adding more of those.
There's definitely better examples of recent cars that should be added to the game, compared to those "normal" Mazdas and such. But we can't hide the fact that we are seriously lacking in anything recent, and by recent, I'd say 2017 onwards. There are brands that lack almost all their recent sportier cars, like Audi doesn't have a single RS model, Maserati has one 14 year old car, Fiat/Abarth is yet to receive their direct competitor to the Mazda Miata (124 Abarth), Opel, Cadillac, Bentley still missing entirely, Bugatti still stuck with the Veyron... The list goes on.

As for the Aventador, I would agree that from all Lambos, another Aventador seems kind of unnecessary, meanwhile the Countach LP800 is different enough to be a worthy addition. Meanwhile, we could use any Gallardo, Murcielago SV, Huracan STO, Sesto Elemento, Reventon in place of another Aventador.

In the end, the problem still remains, 3 cars per month is very little to appease to everyone when it comes to which cars they should add. Double the current amount, and it's more likely that each update will have something for everyone.

True, but it’s not that critical when you actually begin to count what’s there.

Valid criticism. Though, the second generation of the R8 appears to be coming at some point. Kinda old already, but still relevant.
Maserati has one 14 year old car,
Maserati has mostly done luxury cars throughout the modern era. Most generations of the Ghibli and Quattroporte aren’t great on a racing circuit. The MC20 is the only truly sporty performance car they have done since the MC12 (already included as Ferrari Enzo), and PD has plenty of time to include the MC20 while it’s still relatively new.
Fiat/Abarth is yet to receive their direct competitor to the Mazda Miata (124 Abarth),
Hardly essential. Isn’t it just a turbocharged ND Roadster with a different design?
Have they made any performance cars lately? The last one I remember was the Astra OPC, but it’s already old. Opel has been incredibly boring throughout this century.
Heavy luxury cars that don’t handle too well. Sort of like Maserati. Again, do we really want to drive them on a circuit?
Also heavy luxury cars like Maserati and Cadillac. Continental GT3 would make sense though.
Bugatti still stuck with the Veyron... The list goes on.
Chiron also appears to be coming to the game soon.

Gallardo leaked as well, but doesn’t really fit into your “new” agenda.

I agree that three cars per update is pretty weak. However, I think PD’s choices for newer cars over the last few years reveal a priority for cars that were engineered to feel great on the circuit, and that suits me fine. After all, racing circuits are all we have in GT7.

Okay. Where is the Mercedes AMG GT3 Facelift from 2018? When there’s the newer Audi inside.
It’s not in the list and not from this or last year.
It makes no sense for me.
What’s here your argument?

I’ll be surprised if the update brings a new circuit with it, as June’s Watkins Glen addition took nearly four months post launch to arrive. I’m more inclined to think the update might add another layout similar to the 24h version of Spa that was added four months ago and roughly two months in. This could shape up to become the pattern, but at the end of the day I want Grand Valley now!
The expectation comes from GT Sport, where generally a arrived track every other update. As seen with the low number of cars per updates it's not a guarantee they'll stick to this pattern though.

I think, as said there will be bigger updates on this and next month,
this month we will get the selling of cars and next month the 24h races. Than there is no more „room“ for a track and I think at first in October.

My point was mostly centered around road legal track day cars. I understand your frustration if you want newer GT3 cars, but I also think we only have most of the older GT3 cars because PD’s vision was different when those were originally licensed for GT Sport. Sport Mode still exists in GT7 of course but I think it’s clear that PD’s primary focus has shifted back to road legal cars and classic racing cars (like in the old days of GT).

That say to the FIA, if PD wants to come back in 2023. with GT3 cars from 2016 or the old M6, they get no like from them.

Compared to what? A Toyota Crown? A Genesis G70? A Mazda Atenza? Are they more at home on a race track?

Yeah, no. The MC12 is sorely missing, especially when there's also the GT1 race car.

if that’s the case, probably a track from Japan. We got a European circuit(Spa 24H), Americas(The Glen). They’ve been real world circuits thus far. Go for GT Cafe Motegi.

Dependes on how you count though. With or without VGTs, fictional Gr.3, Gr.4 and Gr.B cars, race cars? The list for cars post-2017 (heck, make it 2015) is fairly scarce, specially if we check each brand individualy.

Valid criticism. Though, the second generation of the R8 appears to be coming at some point. Kinda old already, but still relevant.
The V10 Plus iirc. Still doesn't replace something like an RS5, which competes with the M4 and C63 AMG, or an RS3, or RS7. In the very least, one of each would be great.

Maserati has mostly done luxury cars throughout the modern era. Most generations of the Ghibli and Quattroporte aren’t great on a racing circuit. Sure, they don't do that many cars on the sportier side, but they still exist in the likes of the Gran Turismo MC Stradale (and its GT3 version), MC12 (and its GT1 version), Quattroporte Trofeo, Ghibli Trofeo and of course the MC20. Any of these would make the Maserati list better.

Hardly essential. Isn’t it just a turbocharged ND Roadster with a different design?
I mean, it's better looking and faster, and it gives a brand that's lacking cars, something different to use. It's a much better option compared to that targa Miata on that leaked list.

Have they made any performance cars lately? The last one I remember was the Astra OPC, but it’s already old. Opel has been incredibly boring throughout this century.
Opel Astra OPC (2013, has competition in the game), Astra TCR (2016, could fit in Gr.4), Corsa OPC (2016, has competition), Opel Adam S (2015, for those who like little sporty-ish cars). If we go a little bit back in time, we have the Insignia OPC (2010), Opel GT (2007), Speedster Turbo (2003). Then there are the older cars, like the Manta TE 2800, Opel GT (1968), Kadett C Coupe GT E, Calibra Touring Car and Astra V8 Coupe (these two are classics from past GTs). So we could still use Opel, as they made more sportier cars than Citroen in the last 20 years.

Heavy luxury cars that don’t handle too well. Sort of like Maserati. Again, do we really want to drive them on a circuit?
CTS-V Coupe (Premium in GT6, faster on the Nordshleife than the E60 M5), ATS-V (competitor of the M4), CT4-V Blackwing (competitor of the M4), CT5-V Blackwing (competitor of the M5), ATS-V GT3 the future LMDh.

Also heavy luxury cars like Maserati and Cadillac. Continental GT3 would make sense though.
Still fast cars, could make for good dragsters with that powerful engine, 4WD and massive weight reduction. They could pick just one Continental, be it GT3-R, GT V8, Supersports, GT Speed, GT Pikes Peak. There's also the Speed 8 '03.

Chiron also appears to be coming to the game soon.
Hopefully it does. Would be nice to have the Supersport and/or the Pur Sport, or the Divo eventually.

Gallardo leaked as well, but doesn’t really fit into your “new” agenda.
I said before, I don't really care that much about the years. It's the model that is very welcome to the game. And the cars/brands I mentioned do no represent any kind of full "wishlist" in any way. A somewhat full list would contain 300 cars easily.

I agree that three cars per update is pretty weak. However, I think PD’s choices for newer cars over the last few years reveal a priority for cars that were engineered to feel great on the circuit, and that suits me fine. After all, racing circuits are all we have in GT7.
Oh, but I also think that the priority should be performance cars in general. And by that, I mean performance versions of regular cars (like a Focus RS, BMW M5, etc), sports cars, supercars, hypercars, track day cars, etc. Though we sure lack a proper, tighter track to take full advantage of the smaller sports cars. Citta di Aria says hi.

PD's priorities were never clear to me. Sometimes it just seems random whatever they add to the game. Let's not forget PD prioritised, for GT Sport, a random Mazda Atenza, over an RX-7 or RX-8! Let's also not forget the first content update for GT7. In the end everyone agrees, 3 cars per month is not enough, no matter what they prioritise or not. 36 cars per year, which is not even enough to get one car per brand.

If we want to get technical, and I can, because I'm bored and I remember this stuff:
1st (content) update APR:Spa 24h layout, 3 cars
2nd update MAY: no track, 3 cars
3rd update JUN: Watkins Glen, 3 cars
4th update JUL: no track, 3 cars
5th update AUG: TBC, 3 cars

It may be a whole new location, new layout in an existing location (Nurb Type-V when?!), or a night/rain update for a track we've already got (Trial Mountain, Monza... most tracks don't have night or rain available). It also may be nothing, and throw off the pattern.

Also worth noting, from GT Sport's launch to December 2019, PD averaged 6 cars per month. From GTS launch to present, the rate is around 4.5 and falling.

I would. I would love to take a Town Car, or an older Eldorado, maybe even a Chevy Belair from the 1950s and thrash them around a circuit. If this game is suppose to be a celebration of cars, of sorts, then doesn't it make sense to be able to take cars from all different types and push them to their limits on the track, track ready or not?

I mean, we have economy cars such as the Prius and Fiat 500. We have two trucks. Hell we even have a Willys Jeep. I don't think being circuit ready is something PD ultimately care about.

With round 4 and round 6 of the Nations Cup without a track for me, my bet is that it should be a new track and a new layout for an existing track is coming. Nenkai excluded layouts, so they are being worked on.

With few tracks in Asia-Pacific, it could be based there. Not out of chance of being in the Americas but I find it more unlikely as we had Glen. If I had to pick one track based on the vibe of Asia-Pacific, it would be be Midfield, but I am going with Apricot Hill which was actually hinted before (fits Asia-Pacific but also USA).

And a new track layout but I honestly don’t have a clue. Isn’t there another layout missing for Nur?

Also a reminder that Watkins Glen track was announced a day before the update so I think if a new track is coming for 1.20 it should happen again.

Because there are plenty of new cars that aren't just "for the model year's sake"?

Even in your example, they could model the Aventador LP 780-4, it's pretty different from the 2011 original.

Not that I'd particularly choose that one myself, given that they already added the 2015 LP750, but there are plenty of fundamentally new cars from the last few years they could model. Your list is pretty selective including two manufacturers that don't put out too many new models but the other, Mercedes, do. As do many manufacturers.

I made a list a while back

Some of those are just facelifts, many are totally new cars or fundamentally different to the current versions. The list is far from exhaustive.
You know you lost the argument when over half of those cars are facelifts of cars made in 2014-15 and or crossovers/econocars. And a good chunk of them are inferior to prior years. Who in their right mind wants a 22 focus that's a downgrade from the one we have in-game? If it was 2024 you would be the one guy asking for PD to include the 2024 crappy downgraded hurricane inline 6 chargers over the more powerful HEMI v8's. You just want to criticize PD for picking objectively better vehicles.

I can see you have not paid any attention to the performance cars Cadillac has had in the last 20 years, you may want to enlighten yourself.
I am familiar with the lineup thanks, but there’s still no denying that these are heavy cars, and therefore lack feel good factor when compared to lighter performance cars on the market.
Compared to what? A Toyota Crown? A Genesis G70? A Mazda Atenza? Are they more at home on a race track?
Nope. I don’t understand why PD included these.
Yeah, no. The MC12 is sorely missing, especially when there's also the GT1 race car.
Hardly new though. The lack of “new” is what sparked this discussion.
As opposed to cramming in a dozen GR86/BRZs?
I didn’t mention those cars. :boggled:

To each their own. Overweight saloons if you ask me. Power can compesate for weight in a straight line, but power cannot compensate for how a heavy feels when you aim for an apex.
A storied marque with interesting cars and interesting engines.
Sure, but I was replying to someone who wanted newer cars, which in Bentley’s case limits us to limousine-esque saloons and overly heavy grand tourers. Fun how?
Most of the road cars in the game don't make sense on a circuit but they're still interesting to drive.
They actually do. Most of them have a performance pedigree of some sort, and were engineered by manufacturers with agility in mind. There are some exceptions, but the vast majority of road legal cars in GT7 are on point for circuit driving.
The C63 AMG is a heavy luxury car and it's in the game.
And it sucks. Very fast at full throttle, but otherwise a boat.
8 years too late.
Late indeed, but the Chiron is only six years old. It was released in 2016, and the person I replied to defined “new” as cars from 2017 and later. So I’d say the Chiron is close enough within context of the original complaint.
Dependes on how you count though. With or without VGTs, fictional Gr.3, Gr.4 and Gr.B cars, race cars? The list for cars post-2017 (heck, make it 2015) is fairly scarce, specially if we check each brand individualy.
It’s scarce but there’s still a fairly decent handful of cars released within the last five to six years. Especially when focusing on cars celebrated for their handling qualities.
The V10 Plus iirc. Still doesn't replace something like an RS5, which competes with the M4 and C63 AMG, or an RS3, or RS7. In the very least, one of each would be great.
Which is why I said your criticism regarding Audi is valid. Though, RS7 is once again too deep into the heavy territory for me to understand why anyone would want to drive it on a racing circuit. It’s little more than a fancy Autobahn cruiser.
You’re starting to drift away from your original point that the game lacks cars from 2017 and later. Like I said, MC20 is the only recent car from Maserati that doesn’t sacrifice agility for all out luxury and comfort.
I mean, it's better looking and faster, and it gives a brand that's lacking cars, something different to use. It's a much better option compared to that targa Miata on that leaked list.
That’s subjective.
Opel Astra OPC (2013, has competition in the game), Astra TCR (2016, could fit in Gr.4), Corsa OPC (2016, has competition), Opel Adam S (2015, for those who like little sporty-ish cars). So we could still use Opel, as they made more sportier cars than Citroen in the last 20 years.
Again, you started out by pointing out a lack of cars from 2017 and later, which I replied to specifically. I could also mention several older cars that I feel deserve to be in the game, but I think there’s no point in suddenly changing the subject.
I keep thinking, why add these big saloons to a circuit driving game when we could have something light and focused instead, such as the Porsche Cayman GT4 coming this week? Driving pleasure is a big deal, and those executive saloons and grand tourers mentioned have most of their merits on public roads.

Why M5 when you can have the M4 or M2? I understand that aesthetics and power might influence your preferences, but I’ll always argue that lighter weight should come first in a game where mastering racing circuits is the main objective.
I can relate to that. Then again, I see a pattern in the type of cars included and those they for the most part seem to ignore. Exceptions occur, but in general I’d say there’s direction as far as car choices go.

older F1s like the Tipo 500 and Lotus 72
The Mercedes W196, Maserati 250F, & BRM Type 15 for me - that noise is godly!
For me those will always be the golden years of Grand Prix. So much technological diversity still existed within the field. Late 60's / early 70's were also awesome with the return to 3l capacity and introduction of wings. I'd absolutely adore some cars from these decades in GT...

I feel the three most likely tracks to come are Grand Valley, Red Rock Valley or Apricot Hill.

Grand Valley would be the ideal situation, because it's the only track of the Holy Trinity still missing, and it's definitely the most popular classic original still not in GT7.
Red Rock Valley would be the shocking situation, because it would be the first original track returning straight from the PS1 days. This would break the community lol.
Apricot Hill would be the most likely situation, not only because it has the most realistic layout between these three, but it also has been teased on GT7's trailers before launch.

I surely can't say I would be disappointed if Apricot Hill comes, because all that I wanted after these long 5 years was to see classic originals coming back. But honestly, if I get to choose between these three, the last one I want right now is Apricot Hill.
