Okay, I wonder if this will affect the strategies at Tokyo and Le Mans.
It does. I used to be able to keep the hard tyres on for the full distance, weather allowing, and they'd still have loads of grip at the end. Now they are mostly red after 4 laps at Le Mans.

I've said it before, but I am convinced that PD does not want car selling. This update strongly infers it. 6 months later, half a whole year and that feature is still absent.
I don't see them implementing selling cars for as long as they can, maybe another year as they milk mtx, maybe they are planning a major overall of the game economy, before selling cars becomes a option, but it seems there will be a long wait.

Is PD trying to reel in grinders again? I had to de-tune the car I've been using on the Le Mans 700 grind and I noticed I have to pit now to change the RH tires.. Why change the tire wear, PD? Why?? Why are you fighting me just trying to earn credits in your dang game.. ugh.

4 events that pay out pennies, to which none are relative to the Gr.2 extra menu, and are seemingly only aimed toward the Cayman. Where are the events for the MP4/4 and the GTO? Why did we not get an open wheel event and a muscle car event?

Why can PD never seem to do anything in a logical manner? I swear if it wasn't for how good cars feel to drive in this game I would've shelved it a long time ago.
That’s my biggest complaint out of this update, why should i spend 2.4 million out of my cold hard earned CR for Gr2 cars with no events to play it in for a lousy 6 star engine swap?

To be honest It’s the way gaming’s headed and there’s no going back, it’s all about milking money out of money us, just how they announced the regional price increase this morning in certain countries due to inflation for PS5’s this morning, We all know it’s daddy Sony giving out the orders to PD to make them the scapegoat and poor Kaz is taking all the heat.

Also might be worth looking into your tune. Due to other physics changes in this update your old tune might having adverse effects on the tires due to the physics changes. Or it could of been that the LeMans race has been bugged this entire time and was never actually on 10x wear like it’s always said.
Uhm... I did another run not caring much about the wear display and the car wasn't sliding so much as I noticed before... maybe it was something psychological.

Mediums, IM and W seem to be the same as before, I would say the changes affected hard tyres the most, but not so sure how much now, well we will see as more players test other races and so.

They probably plan to add it a few weeks before GT8 release.

I’d love to know who’s buying MTX’s as I haven’t seen a single person on here or in the wider social media world state they have.

Nenkai stated the feature was more complex than expected to implement. But it’s been ready (to some degree) for a month or so. We went through the same process with lobby settings & stability. For all we know it takes longer to test for game breaking bugs than it does to get it up and running in beta form.

Did they mess with the controller settings in the update again? Steering feels extremely heavy in most cars I've tried (no upgrades/tuning, regular stock), it literally won't turn fast enough in some corners.
Physics changes. Seems like for wheels its much better. but controller..

Senna happened
Nope, well unless they waited 13 years to get around to doing it.

It was done in an attempt to group cars closer and improve overtaking down the start/finish straight and contrary to popular belief it wasn't because of bikes, they continued to use the chicane free layout for many years after 2007.

"Happily, without the aerodynamic constraints of the F1 cars, the motorcycle course remained largely unchanged for a few more years and witnessed some thrilling racing. "

No I wouldn't. Any car they add could've been something else, and I think it's far more important to represent multiple eras than to simply cover 1.

Variety is far more important to me than having a "full field". Especially when spec racing is so fun.
It is very likely that the MP4/4 will only be able to run in Time Attack and clone races. Unless PD brings other models from the 1988 season in a generic version.

Pragmatically, it is much better to add several generic F1 cars. You set free of license fees and, best of all, you can create a real F1 car race using libre and decals. Instead of the official MP4/4, it would have been better to have brought the McLaren, Williams, Lotus and Ferrari from the 1988 season in generic versions. Honestly, I don't understand the PD's decisions.

I think PD mentioned that bug in their updated Known Issue:
Known Issues [UPDATED: 25 August] - gran-turismo.com

Changing the muffler from the 'Intake & Exhaust' category in 'Garage' > 'Car Settings' may cause the muffler on the car to disappear. If this issue occurs, it can be resolved by re-entering the 'Garage.'

The reason why people do the same races over and over is because of the payouts. PD could put 500 races in the game in one update, if they each had a reward of 1000 Cr. do you think that would stop people complaining, or do you think they'd still be complaining about the grind when PD also bung a 10,000,0000 Cr. car in the LCD? I mean, that's pretty much where we are now with Custom Races.

There's a load of things PD may well have done, and many more they could do, to push MTX's... blaming the number of events on MTX's is just senseless when there's thousands and thousands of races on offer, but people choose not to do them because they don't pay well enough.
Agree with you 100%

Lmao in Kaz's pursuit of realism, he's included a feature where expensive/modified cars are subject to thievery. Next update, haggerty's will offer you insurance at extortionate rates as they hold an in-game monopoly

Later, in a further "quality of life" update, insurance becomes mandated for racing events, meaning the entirety of your garage must be insured. And no, you STILL cannot sell your cars. Nor can you give away the duplicates for free.

Thanks, the news popped up while I was trying to figure out if i messed up something on my end, i was going crazy for a second

Just did leMans 700pp race in the cayman. Managed 3 laps on hards and still had around half left on the indicator and still had feeling of plenty of grip. Don’t know how some of you are getting absolutely no grip after 2 laps.

Sony is in a lot of trouble by all accounts.
I saw a news article the other day about how they're facing a 6 Billion $ court case over MTX's and DLC greed stretching back to 2009 or something.

Someone posted about them yesterday.

Wether it will amount to anything remains to be seen,a lot of people will get something back if it happens.

Did this update fix any of the issues with the 918 Spyder? Anyone tested it yet?
What were the issues exactly? The PP changed quite a bit, and I think that the hybrid system was also changed somehow. They might have changed the gear ratios, but not 100% sure, and if they did, it's a fairly small difference.

The handling feels different, but that's likely due to the change in the weight of the steering in the controller.
