Why does the thing where you shoot the wheels to lower the car only work on some vehicles? Some cars work perfectly, some it works on but blows it up and, some it doesn't work on and still blows them up. I know it won't work on bulletproof tires but I have only tried it on NPC vehicles.

This feature has been hindered by the recent updates. Apparetly the first notice of it being wonky was around 4 months ago. The first thing I tried to do months ago when I fired up GTA was to lower my car. It blew up in my face and launched me several feet.

Two things:
  1. The Middle-Class Death Truck has been released at a proper middle class price of $1,775,000. The difference between this and the Technical Aqua is 1) this one doesn't float and 2) you can upgrade in either an MOC or an Avenger, so I suspect you can throw some overpowered machine gun on the back or missiles on the front. Like I said, Middle-Class Death Truck.
  2. Apparently, mr. Yan is in possession of some early details on the next update, mainly how it's apparently going to be "fairly big", basically about combining all the previous businesses and have its dripfeed end around RDR2s release, though if you're capable of basic maths, that shouldn't really come as a surprise. That also means it may be the last update but that's kind of been heard before.

A few days ago, I’d finally been obliterated by an orbital cannon, but just about an hour ago, I got an opportunity to try out the ‘live bait’ counter to orbital cannon strikes.

Courtesy of GhilleMaster, the live bait strategy involves a Avenger and by being on the turret(or just in the Avengers hold.), you won’t die when the Avenger gets blasted, but the game still considers the strike a success and doesn’t refund the player who called for it.

So this player heads to his facility, I call the Avenger in the LS storm drain and park my Stromberg next to it, go inside and jump on a turret.

He’s in there for about 5-10 mins and then sure enough...

(You can even see the shot too.)
The buzz I got from someone pretty much spend at least 500k to blow up my car and my Avenger and not kill me was damn good.

Turns out, this wasn’t a tryhard though, this guy hadn’t played the game in over a year and had “money to burn” and was testing the news toy out, quite civilised player in fact. :)

So I gave the guy some pointers, like don’t orbital strike static Avengers or MOCs for example and after he got blitzed by a randoms Pyro in his Hydra, I recommended it to him as the best dogfighter to fight jets with. :P

Earlier in the night, I did a sale run and was chased by a Avenger, Before I went to the first drop I trusted my gut feeling to call my Anti Air trailer in and hook it up to the Insurgent and then set off.

Happily my gut call was right on, all the MOC’s feared the Flak cannon. :D

Second attempt was also shot down, but by my Mk2 Heavy Sniper which somehow oneshoted it, they did eventually wreck my shipment, but I only lost one crate and the payback I doled out with the help of a likeminded random more than made up for it, even went from a 1.65 to 1.68K/D (Not that I actually care about it mind you. :P)

Aside from that one minor setback, it was good fun night of GTA Online. 👍

Has anyone spent time doing the "Motor Wars" adversary mode? I feel like GTA's weapons are way overpowered for this time of game mode to be fun, but I could be wrong.

I really wish there were slower paced, more deliberate game modes for online. No radar, no explosives, no weaponized vehicles, no aircraft. Anyone remember Extraction & Escort maps/game modes from the Socom series? Or battling "The End" in Metal Gear Solid 3 (come to think of it, basically all gameplay from MGS3). Or even playing RDR online. An emphasis on using the map to your advantage, being cautious rather than aggressive. I know that's a lot to expect from GTA in 2018, but it seems like it could be fun. GTA has become a little too vehicularly focused for my liking.

Is this part of an event or job or something? I've never seen it before. I couldn't get in the truck even after killing the drivers.

There was an Avenger about a block over and a few thousand feet up dropping bombs all around me but somehow not killing me, but there was no one else around. The truck was indestructible, too.

That's from one of the Doomsday prep missions.

That’s a sign that someone was doing prep work for a Doomsday heist, if you look closer at the Stromberg’s rear, you’ll note all the seaweeds on it.

But interestingly, That’s the first time I’ve seen it on anything other than a Wastelander. :P

Sounds like the way I play Contact Missions. I can easily spend half an hour on those, usually using only the heavy pistol, the marksman rifle and the occasional tear gas grenade. A lot of fun for me, but I can understand why my teammates tend to leave the job when they’ve run out of lives...

I used to something similar. Shame that the contact missions pay out so poorly compared to other activities. Maybe I should start playing them again now that i'm up to $3.5M and not really keen on buying anything.

I’ve just been buying and selling some cars I wanted to experiment with; bought the Contender and then traded that in for the Guardian. Prolly gonna trade it in and buy another bike.

Try them out first in creator mode maybe?

Go over to GTAF and look at the various appreciation threads to get an idea of looks/mods before buying?

That what I do.

I should prolly do that. They’re not too crazy expensive so I’m not too bothered about some money lost; same with their mods.

I do check out the GTAF threads for cars I do plan on keeping though. :)

I passed $10,000,000 in Criminal Damage for the first time yesterday!

I barely made it, too.

I definitely could have gotten more if I didn't crash the jet and if I didn't waste as much time trying to get the buses.

When you're just about to log off but the game interrupts the process with a call from your Assistant about "something special on SecuroServ" so you head right over to your Office, log on, pay your Bunker fees and find it's the Rare Pocket Watch.

Even when it's not on Publisher-Simulator-Bonus-Week, that's still a handy $120,000 to have in the back of your hand. And it's Tuesday tomorrow, and who knows what happens then?

Tunables updated, and NO new cars. Real shame since I was expecting the Issi Classic & Seasparrow to drop today.

Some decent sales though. The Weaponized Tampa, Dune FAV, Neon, Autarch, AA Trailer & Nightshark are all 25% off, while the MOC is 30% off. Only thing I'm really interested in is the Nightshark which I'll probably buy when I get back over a million.

Plus I've been told there's also double cash on bunker supplies but I haven't checked for my self yet.

..yeah, expecting content to drop any week is probably the worst idea possible. The clue is in the vehicles being released in "batches".

We know we've got three more batches of vehicles incoming, and we know there'll be new Special Vehicle races and new Transform races + Creator updates on May 1 and May 29 respectively. That leaves at least 1 batch of cars unaccounted for, and that can drop any day between next week and the week before the next update, which is still sat at some theoretical point in the future.

Apart from that, there is apparently Double Trouble on Bunker manufacturing and 50% boost on Research. Imagine the gloriousness if it was both double cash *and* 50% boost on manufacturing..

Edit: not quite worth double-posting, but that "unaccounted for" batch of vehicles? That's coming next week.

Also The Vespucci Job sounds a lot like.. well, that obvious reference.. but something along the lines of Cops and Crooks as well. Except we can pretty much guarantee it's no introducing the one feature everybody wants from it. Oh well, if it'll let you choose the LSPD outfit and someone knows of a quick and easy way of cheatsydoodling that into being a personal outfit..

The Vespucci job sounds interesting. Hopefully there’s some instance of getting to run the cars down the stairs into the tram tunnel.
