GTA Online Thread (Useful Links in OP)

Is there a way to turn off voice chat completely? The only way I can see is once your in the actual game you can hit pause and manually toggle mute for each player. But you spend the majority of the time in the lobby screens where you can't mute people. Annoying microphone people SHUT THE HELL UP. PLEASE.

Aside from that online seems ok but very complicated, I don't really care for buying houses etc so i'm glad they still have the quick menu for starting races/deathmatch etc.

There is an option to who can speak to you I have it on Friends + crew members 👍. (Tree'd grr)

Also Trav, that was my thoughts exactly. I was hoping to eventually have all the garages so I can store hundreds of cars.. Also to have a few houses a distance from each other so I can get to one quickly.

Yeah I saw that but it doesn't work when you go into a competitive session. I wouldn't mind if people spoke normally and didn't sound like they are dying

Don't forget the people that sound like Call of Duty commentators on youtube. (They sound either stoned, just got out of bed, or about to go to bed, and say "dude" a lot)

Haha I wouldn't mind them, I'm just getting kids screaming and people who don't have push-to-talk on so you can hear them breathing and just strange noises.

I was stuck in the menu where the first mission is and I heard a bunch of loud, annoying, Spanish speaking people. It seems like no matter what game I play, I always get matched up with people who I can't understand/communicate with.

I had 148k and didn't want to risk losing it in missions/dying costs etc, so bought myself a house with a 6 car garage for now.

Should keep me sorted for a while.

To be honest I've given up on GTAO for now. Play the BF4 Beta until that ends (15th) and by then the servers should be more stable.

There's already some stable servers and I had no loading problems since yesterday.

If you play a solo game (in the online system) it still has to ping R*'s servers right? I have a bad feeling that it does and I won't be able to do much of anything in GTAO

Yeah, I got up to Level 5 or so yesterday, had about $10,000, but lost my character when I came back on later on, despite multiple cloud saves.

The other way to mute people online is to use the Quick GPS (hold Select/Back) function and scroll to Chat, change it to Friends or No-one.
But I don't know about how to mute in a mission. The only way I could do it was with friends as the host, and I went to the invite feature and pressed triangle when their name was highlighted.

Ok I had first patience when online started (Ok I still have). I understood there is milions of peoples trying log in same time and nothing doesn't work.
But when I'v created my character now 4 times and always lost it from 5-9 level, I feel kinda beta tester...

This post is the exact reason I will be hosting "private" rooms. Had too many people ruining my fun last night. No more joining open rooms for me. Its hard enough to get people setup for a co-op mode like this and to have someone ruin it, its quite frustrating.

My, you really are a fragile little cupcake, aren't you? If you don't want to be killed and have your prize taken from you, don't play an online game about being a hardcore criminal. Or, do, but enable passive mode and never go after any of the prizes that are announced to all the players on the server. I suppose you could host private rooms and ensure you'll never face competition when taking a prize, but that's essentially boosting I would've thought.

Just had a $3,000 bounty put on my head for stealing an AI car in a lobby by myself =/ great way to encourage other players to randomly kill you in free mode. 👎 I don't mind having a bounty on my for stealing a players car or killing them. But for taking an AI car? Really?

(Unless this scripted to happen once you reach level 10 and unlock Lesters Bounty option?)

It is scripted, if you survive the bounty after 24h ingame you will get the reward.

EDIT: My characters are still missing after the patch. I'm gonna reload a couple of times and hope they reappear out of nowhere.
