This sounds fun and interesting. Hope I can join in next time. Just gotta get me a 4x4 now :)

So this weekend is a Canis/BF meet, or just the Canis one and the BF one on the 8th.

I would offer to be the support pilot, my biggest interest is in aviation, but driving around mountains with you guys is too much fun!!

I'll be bringing a Seminole, because why not.
The Seminole ain't that bad offroad. It's no Patriot, but it's not bad.

IMO only way to go. Best looking off road vehicle by far. Just takes a little finesse sometimes.
The MW Mesa looks nice and all but it's butchered severely by the horribly-unbalanced 4WD system. And if you lift one wheel off the ground, all power cuts off. It's rather embarrassing when a Futo has an easier time climbing Chiliad then a MW Mesa. I'm not saying it's terrible, but there are definitely better choices out there (Patriot, Dubsta, Kalahari, etc.)

Finally! Someone agrees with me!

Hell, even the Seminole was better up Chiliad!
And if you put a turbo in the MW Mesa, you're gonna have a bad time. Adding turbo lag to an already awkward 4WD setup on a lifted heavy Wrangler? I know LSC says the Turbo has anti-lag, but it certainly doesn't feel like it.
Me and a buddy were offroading around Blaine County, me in a MW Mesa and him in a Sandking SWB. Everywhere he went, I followed. He cleared a rather steep hill, and my MW Mesa got stuck.
I dare to say, that the MW Mesa might be a tad overrated in my opinion. In a test with a buddy in a MW Mesa and me in a Patriot, the Patriot outright trounced the MW Mesa in every portion (climbing, offroad speed, rockcrawling, plowing across the rapid at Raton Canyon).
The Patriot is the best offroader in the game in my opinion. Excellent 4WD system combined with loads of power and torque, and a good amount of ground clearance all add up to a nice and easy-to-get-into offroading vehicle.

The issue is two fold: the 4WD system you speak of, and the fact that a cars on-road traction greatly influences it's offroad traction which is donkey poo. Personally I keep it as realistic looking as I can by using cars such as the MW Mesa, and just dealing with their issues as I go.

Fair enough. Personally I was deeply disappointed with the MW Mesa and moved on to the Patriot.

I completely agree that the 4wd model is skewed. It seems backwards in game, seeing smaller tires always have more grip and more power than larger tires. That MW Mesa just plain looks and sounds too cool to be ignored, though. The poor traction merely adds to the challenge of a good climb. Really, I feel that the poor traction of the Mesa is slightly more realistic than the supernatural traction of some of the other vehicles. These trucks should have trouble climbing mountains. That's why they look the way they do with all the roll bars and winches. Stock looking vehicles climbing near vertical, smooth rock faces is really quite absurd if you think about it.

Sorry about earlier with my dumb post . I'm liking the canis kalahari, light weight 4wd. I'd like to get in the next run . Thanks

I'm tempted to go with the MW Mesa for the Canis only meet... but i'm think i may well stick with the Kalahari due to it's awesomeness. :D

Whoever decides the trail, please can it have plenty of switchbacks, that was my favourite part from the BeeJay meet, you should have seen my focused concentration face on the decent..
