GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
I was thinking angular, like the Delorean or 1st gen mr2 or an Esprit (Not change the whole shape but with little touches here and there.)...like I said it would be bad for performance.

@Gt4lover "air vents and antenaas and side mirror"

Thank you; I didn't even think about those. XD

Compare its shape to this car; and a modern LMP. :D

Wow, never really looked closely at a new one... that Rothman's Porsche LMP looks like it would be more aerodynamic.
GC cars have more DF than modern LMP cars; but modern LMPcars channel the air better; My attempt was to blend the two together. Hoping to animate it later tonight. :)

I want to make something, but I don't have any 3D software programs. Anyone have a good one that is easy to learn?
Also, 1 other thing. The software must be free, and no viruses. NO VIRUSES AT ALL. OR ELSE.

By far the best of the "free" programs and virus free ( unless you download it from a fake site ).

They have improved it but it is still somewhat hard to learn compared to other software but that other software isn't free.

My diagram of the Turbo v4 Hybrid powertrain and transmission. If anyone needs any clarification on what's going on here let me know. Currently designing a Ariel Atom like car around this powertrain. All these sketches are quick roughs because I don't have as much time as I'd like to work on this.

@TacoParty Wouldn't the exhaust be an expansion chamber?
You can kinda see what's happening in the picture. the exhaust feeds back into the turbo from the lower mid part of the v block. after it hits the turbo I had envisioned it running back into the piping for the funnel, only I drew the funnel too low and redrawing it seemed tedious. BTW the funnel is made out of Carbon, the block and the trans made out of beryllium pistons, aluminium block and a magnesium casing. the Transmission is mostly titanium with certain parts being made out of magnesium and beryllium.
Also here's my idea for the chassis asthetics

If you have a .edu email address maya is free and it is the same one PD uses. :)

I am now streaming! Will be a lot more interesting than the previous two nights! :D

The expansion chamber or fat part of a two stroke exhaust, gives the reflection required to hold fuel in a 2 stroke, as the exhaust port is closed by the piston as it compresses the air/fuel/oil mix from my understanding.

The exhaust is on 2 and 4 strokes and is to transfer gases, reduce noise and some emissions when a catalytic converter is installed. It's also used to reduce air density under the car in previous model F1 to increase downforce.

Okay, we want a rear wheel drive car. Let's vote on body style and engine so we designers have a bit of guidance.

We already have a poll and the results can be seen in the first page

I think @CLowndes888 has a point. Do we want to stick with the results of the poll that may have been manipulated through multi votes, or should we have another go using a secure polling system?

Hopefully most designs will able to be adjusted to meet the new criteria.

Personally I like the idea of having another go to get the the best representation of what the community wants to see developed. No rush, as the manufacturers would have had deadlines and we're still waiting on many of their VGT vehicles.

It would appear to be a track that converges at two separate points allowing a collision every once in awhile, am I right?

Me too.

That's the result after I deleted those votes , the manipulated results will be : flat 6 four stroke engine with "combine or create something new" body type. That manipulated results is actually more "interesting" than the pure results

Anyone want to give it a go?

Sure, every suggestion is welcomed :) , so what is it?
It's still in the WIP status, but the body style is that of what I would call, a "Super-LMP": follows the shaping routine of an LMP car while carrying the essence of a supercar. It's low to the ground, and has gaps, curves, and edges to guide the wind and air through high speeds.

Do you have any picture, that everyone could see? Sounds cool though

Also : If everyone still think we should do a re-poll, after all this is a team project, what do you guys think? A re-poll, use the sabotage results, or stick to the plan? Please answer immediately
