It is the pre-season, so it's the best time to try some things out. ;) Now all that's needed is to get someone with a Nissan Skyline GT-R Safety Car in their garage to volunteer to do the duty. Maybe for the next Pre-Season race we can try out a few Rolling starts for practice?

So did any of the GT500 drivers had their lights on when we started the reverse-grid race today? I don't know if anyone did, but I did try to stay out of the others way as we all went into the first turn.

Also, shall we keep going with the Grid Start with False Start Check or should we try our hand at doing a rolling start for next Sunday?

If the rolling start option is available, lets do that.

Currently - and if memory serves me right from what you and I have talked about - only the Indy and Daytona ovals have the double-wide rolling start option available. In the ITCC series I've been talking part in the last few weeks, the number of laps for the first race was set to 1 more than the scheduled race distance so that we could do a rolling start with a formation lap beforehand. What happens is we went around the track at about 60 MPH to get the tires warmed up and then formed up before we got to the final turn for the rolling start. Before the first race, we get to agree on where the 'green flag/light goes on' for the start of the race. I'm thinking we can do something like what is done in the real-life SuperGT series with a formation lap before the start of the race with either the GT500 field in front of the GT300 field or we do it in the grid spots we qualified in.

Ah, ok. Well, I could serve as the pace car if needed for the formation lap.

Problem is you're already in the series as a driver. :embarrassed: Wouldn't be a bad idea for you to bring not only your Sunday Driver but the Safety Car as well. ;)

Once the season gets underway, we would probably need someone with experience in racing online and currently not competing in the series to be a Safety Car driver/Chief Steward.

It isn't as if it'll count in pre-season :P

Well, I do have two people in mind.

Welcome to the series. Oil changing is unfortunately not allowed at the moment, to keep the cars as close to their stock setting as possible.

Question for all currentely participating: Whats your aim for this season? Mines's to just finish and (if at all), grab a point.

As for my test session, well its not doing to badly.

I'd like to move to GT300.

subtle bump.

Also, where can I find the room?

Friend me or CAMikaze. The rooms are usually private so you have to go to our Lounge.

I'd like to move to GT300.

Ok, will be changing entry.

I have the Lounge up and running for SuperGT Practice. :)

EDIT: If I'm not on your Friends list yet, please send a request to me.

Welcome to the series. There are many spots open, but not alot left for just one room.

Ok! Got a question for you guys!
What is the rule on blocking on the series?
Is it a 1 move deal or can people drive you to the wall?

Come to think of it, I haven't made a specific rule on that so I'll definately be keepign that on my mind. Really, I don't know if there should be one. Driving someone to the wall however (especially if they already have at least a nose in) would count as rough driving so I will definately draw the line there. As for the race, I'm not sure what went on with you guys so I can't say who's in the wrong here, but try to drive clean. I would also like for you guys to try to work things out with each other. If you've got a problem, its best to work it out as soon as possible.

Hey, turn me down if you want, but maybe we should run the pre-season at the Daytona Road Course since we'll be racing right after the 24 Hours of Daytona. Would be kinda cool. :)

YEAH.:D Maybe make it a 24 lap race? :sly:

If your talking about me, I made 1 move.

Whoa! Easy there buddy, not pointing any fingers here! Yes your move is the reason for my question, one thing is to pick a line and hold it and completely blocking the road in reaction to the racer behind you is a whole different thing...
You certainly have the speed, you proved it, once you got in front and clear you blew us all out of the water by 15 seconds IIRC! But your reacecraft has a bit of cleaning to do...
