Thanks mate đź‘Ť

Ok, I've spent 5 hours solid testing and sorting out. Thanks @NinjaEvo for coming in and helping.

So, The Citroen, BMW, Ford, Toyota and Honda are all fine. Setting equal lap times in mine and ninja's hands. Also with others who have been trying cars out for me.
The Volvo is fine. If wanted an additional 20kg is there, to give it a bit better handling
the vw will stay at 270
its been requested the Nissan plays with its weight. 290bhp 1420kg is proposed.

the specs are fine. i'm fed up now people saying it was meant to be sorted. it is. if you don't like it you know where the door is

deadline is now monday

I've had all this crap directed at me and complaints about the specs. Can I get some feedback please? They are all fine to me. Only change is the Nissan to give it some weight play. But I see no reason to change. If people don't give me any feed back on it then there's nothing else I can do.

I'm starting to get the feeling this season isn't going to be very good :(

The season is going to be ace mate, the specs seem right and the rebalance for the Nissan seems sensible. Not a lot of point in me testing RWD as I am a fair way off in RWD compared to FWD pace but I found everything else right.

I personally can't wait for it to start.

I have no complaints, everything feels fine in my hands now it comes down to driving and tuning ability... Oh 🤬, I'm screwed...

Nah, in all seriousness all is good from where I'm sitting. Top job m8.

Oh yeah, you're all going to get a PM at some point in the next 24 hours, have a look through and tell me what you think. Just an idea I'm toying with but if the initial reaction isn't what I'm hoping for I know to refocus... đź‘Ť

My 2 pence:

The way I look at it is true put the final specs up so I treated them as "set in stone" we then had 2 weeks to choose a car, in those 2 weeks I tested all the cars that I was interested in (all RWD's, and a couple FWD's) I put a 90% tune on each one and then went to a few different tracks that I knew I could do constant times, I got the best lap time out of each of my cars, recorded them down and picked my weapon from the times I set.

There were cars that in my hands I thought were slow compared to other cars, so I didn't pick them, but I didn't think they needed a BHP boost or weight reduction as I knew the specs had been made equal so it was just something on that long list of variables that made me slower in that car.

So at the end of my testing I just picked the car that I was fastest in, and that's it, untill round 1 lights out

You've done a great job as always @True-blue-8 all seems good to me, love the format. Let's get it on :D

Wise words, all of them.

try it first for me please

Proposal
Now pens are a lot more fairer and less of an impact. I propose we bring back top 5 in the championship run a pen for race 1?
This made me think, I have a reason for and against on this:

For - if I'm not in the top 5 I want to catch up (obviously ) but mainly because winning every race 1 could boost their championship considerably.

Against - if I'm in the top 5, I don't want others to catch up (again, obviously ) but mainly because it could be too little of a challenge (never know until we find out đź‘Ť) and I finish in the success penalty zone which will slow my car down even more for race 2.

I'll leave this to others to decide, but in all fairness I don't mind either. Racing is racing and it's good enough for me! :gtpflag:

I'm very đź‘Ž
1: because it means if your in the top 5 you have to test at 2 differant specs each week (which is annoying to me)
2: because if I were to say miss round 1 or 2 I could go the rest of the season not in the top 5 and have full power every race 1. (I know pam benefitted from this in season 2 and yuc missed a round so he was out of place on the champ table)

If the top 5 in championship penalty was based on "including" drop scores this would be fair to those who don't miss a round.
But I'd still rather not have to test 2 specs for each round

I'd be glad too. I'm available tonight if you'd like me to do it. That or I can test it out in Race 1.

Also I liked the top 5 penalty system for race 1.

(Sorry for double post)
Conclusion:
I feel that having an extra 20kg of weight on the Volvo has no competitive advantage. But it does however make the Volvo easier to drive around technical race tracks a lot like Laguna Seca. So I'd like to present the idea of making the extra 20kg optional on the Volvo.

I like this idea, its technically easy and I can give peoples 1 weeks notice on the penalties by posting them on the forum but .....

This is a very good point.

Point 1 I don't see as a problem, the maximum power difference between the two settings is 28BHP in the Volvo, the way I tune this wouldn't make any difference and you will always need to be prepared to run different settings in race 2 and 3 anyway. You may tune differently but either way you are going to have to be prepared for different settings in all 3 races anyway.

Point 2 is a bigger concern, I think the idea of doing it based on the drop score points is the best way to proceed but this raises its own problems as it means that we can't implement this until 4th race meeting as up until the end of the 3rd meeting all the scores recorded will by default be the two worst that people have scored.

Another potential issue with this would be thus: if I am routinely doing quite well but not winning, say finishing 4th or 5th in most meetings and then have one strong meeting in the first 3, by the time the penalties are calculated I could get a power penalty for being first despite not really being there when the season results shake themselves out.

I think on balance it is virtually impossible to do it fairly based on season results.

If you want to have penalties for race 1 I would recommend basing them on the results from race 3 from the week before, this gets around the problem of dealing with drop scores and means that there is a directly accountable reason to point to if anyone queries why their power is lower than normal.

I am in favour of pens for race 1, I think they should spice things up and help to keep racing more interesting but I think the above is a better way to do it than basing it on championship standing.

Interesting:lol:

I'm not too excited about power penalty for top 5 in championship.
2 Volvos are left mate. No one else can match you in them and hell, i'm way of, as was ninj

The race 3 is something also considered. How do people feel about that?
