As if I was referring to anything other than the Aries with that description.

Those A-pillars says otherwise. Hell, even the wheel arches look like they're struggling to maintain any amount of curvature.

I know an Aries isn't as curvy as Kim Kardashian's buttocks, but all 80's sedans were boxy. The Aries was stylishly boxy. Foxy boxy.

Badass?

It seems you have literally been blinded by Mopar bias.

I don't think so.

W&N's Sunbird - even in it's last known state of ruined suspension and tappety knocks from the front end - has more road presence, grace and appeal than this thing. And that's really saying something.

Please don't mention White Nerdy.

The Grand Am was a marginally smaller car than the Aries.

You are thinking of the Sunbird or 1000.

You can describe the Aries' looks as "badass" but for accuracy you need a space between the 'd' and the 'a'.

I don't think so.

It's exactly as bad as the Cavalier, can't you see?
To everyone else, it looks just like that, only 5% are seeing it differently.

No, the Cavalier is worse than the Aries. I think more than 5% think the car is cool, I just think some are embarrassed to show support for an 80's "junky" sedan.

Even Lee Iacocca would be hard pressed to give this one a 'Meh'.

To the defense of @The87Dodge, I remember being a kid and loving everything full size Chevrolet. Even to the point of saying I'd rather have a '73 Caprice over a Ferrari. Thankfully my sense of judgement has come around.

Still, you're not going to see this car on "What's My Car Worth" anytime soon (or ever). ;)

Compared to Chevy Cavalier, Ford Escort, and every other 80's compact.
Mmhmm. You really weren't alive in the 1980s were you? Have you seen the Volkswagen Golf at all?

I have to say I'm surprised that Dodge didn't use "The new 92hp 2.5 litre Aries - looks more badass than a Ford Escort" as an advertising strapline. It's catchy...
How can you compare a car to an eye disease in the first place?
Quite easily. I know which I'd rather look at.

This joke got super old.

If you are saying that me liking an Aries is a joke, you're way off. All my avatars were K-related, I have praised the Aries in numerous threads, and even started a GT Suggestions thread for it.

Poor people driving cars for movies set in the 1980s don't have access to cars made in the following decade.
Poor people in 1980's movies would drive a 60's Dart, maybe a Monaco at best.

Well, of course. anyone can see it.

A Dodge Aries K is the only car that is both a beater and a sleeper.
Vote on my 1987 Dodge Aries K suggestion thread!

I'm not sure what a '73 Caprice has to do with an Aries, but thanks for telling me.

I wan't here in the eighties. And I know what a VW Golf looks like, someone at my work owns a brand new GTi.

I suspect that most would agree with me when I say that your inability to view certain cars objectively is exactly like White and Nerdy was.

Where have I brought up politics in this discussion. Wasn't W&N famous for bringing up political references in Cool Wall threads? And I'm not close minded like him. Just cause we both drive 80's American 'beaters, which we praise, doesn't mean we are exactly alike.

Gosh what a surprise.

Me being not alive in the eighties doesn't prevent me from knowing a lot about 80's cars. In fact I know more about 80's cars (not motorsport or race cars) than probably all active members on the site.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that this is going to go on for a long time. A really long time.

It may go on for some time, but at least it's a casual discussion and not a flamewar.

Just there^. But otherwise, you haven't, but I'm not sure why you bring it up because it's irrelevant to the point I was making.

White and Nerdy was famous for, among other things, trying to convince everything that a cheap and awful American car was actually really good, and for not being able to view anything without bias.

That's a bold statement there, knowing more than all of us combined.

I meant for my suggestions thread, silly goose.

And over multiple threads...:indiff:

Thankfully, those issues are resolved and do not go on.

Where did Beeble say that you were political?

Good. God.

He didn't, but he said I was like W&N.

That must be a real shame. Did he get a lot of hate around here?

It certainly prevents you from remembering them in their time and makes you conjure up a ridiculous romantic notion of how "badass" this blob of nothing was.

Ohhh, you'll want to wind that particular thought back in.
