It may not be in the top 200 on your list, but it would on mine. But everyone has their own opinions, so that's understandable. I doubt it's the most forgettable Cool Wall car. Pyeonghwa Hwiparam? Toyota Prius? Olds Delta 88? Ford Aspire? The list goes on.
The Prius only isn't forgotten because it's hated on so much, and the fact that it's doing very well in the hybrid industry.

As the former owner of a 1982 Oldsmobile Omega (an almost carbon copy of the Aries):

I can assure you that 1) everything in that video is wrong and B) it was the worst pile of steaming horse 🤬 I've ever driven. The absolute only good thing about it was it was my first car and wad given to me by my parents and it provided me freedom to drive.

Anyone who doesn't vote SU needs their head examined.

Will you give me a lobotomy for only voting for uncool without knowing the backstory?

I try really hard to keep my bias in when explaining, which most of the times i can do that. It just gets hard sometimes when you know about, and favor, more about Chrysler than any other brand.
I'm an absolutely huge Honda fan. I would consider a Civic Type-R over pretty much any car, let alone hot hatch on the market today.

The Civic Type-R is as chav-tastic as the Aries is crap-tastic.

It doesn't stop me wanting one, and it certainly doesn't stop me from liking them. I just know that I'd look like a pillock if I drove one down the street.
Will you still be waiting patiently after a year
Don't worry, we will.

That's a bold statement. Myself, and probably every else who did not vote SU, has good mental health.

I'm sure the task is doable for any of us. It's just a matter of how factual it would be, since, you know, it's an encyclopedia.

It might take less time to make the encyclopedia for me, since some people would need to look at the inter webs to get info.

I think you need to experience some more cars.

Each of at least them has something memorable about them.

The only thing that the Aries has as a memorable feature is... well... I guess at least now it has an extremely zealous and amusing supporter.

I find it annoying (not you) how some people pick on Civics because "people rice them". Stock, they are cool cars. I guess since everyone is patiently waiting, in March 2017, search Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com for The Complete Encyclopedia and Visual History of 1980's American Automobiles.

Best selling hybrid in the world?

Doubt it'll be forgotten anytime soon really.

A second gen one is kind of forgotten already.

Care to change your vote? ;)
That's a bold statement.
Bold? No.

Spot-on accurate? Yes.

Bahahahahahaha.

I know two people who I consider to be at the sharper end of extreme expertise in single vehicles and with a broader knowledge of cars at least equal to mine who have written books about cars. Both of them wrote books about a single vehicle range which was at least partially produced in the 1980s. Both of them took a year to write their books. One of them is a member of this site.

I may not have driven a wide variation of cars, but that doesn't stop me from knowing about a wide variation of cars. What's memorable about the Aries (besides myself) is the comfortable, quiet ride, technological (for the time), interior, low price, high fuel economy, and higher build quality than other 80's sedans.

Oh?

Give me information about, say an Isuzu Piazza.

No cheating.

You'll have to wait a year for that.

It certainly depends which generation we're talking about. The new one certainly, but the ones before that were certainly more... sedate.

Here we have it peeps.

Exactly a year from now, @The87Dodge will have a fully-fledged published automotive encyclopedia.

I eagerly await the end result. I'm sure everyone else does too.

Who is the member on this site? I'm curious to know, (maybe I know who it is already).

Please don't bring that up.

There's literally only one person in the entire world who knows why.

More than just me. People of Chrysler, and other avid Mopar enthusiasts.

Don't publish it under that title. 1980's is a typo; 1980s is correct. But I suspect you'll be needing a proof reader for lots of things in this book.

Needing proofreading is normal for 1,000s of pages of words. I'm sure there are plenty of grammatical errors.

You're confusing "memorable" with "press release". Many cars are comfortable, have a quiet ride, are 'technological (for the time)' - whatever that means - have an interior, a low price and a high fuel economy. You are not well-placed to judge the comparative build quality of 1980s cars as you were not around when they were actually built - though it is lightly amusing that you've again forgotten that Volkswagen and BMW are things that existed.

There's nothing actually memorable about it. It's bland to look at, has a bland name, has bland engines with bland performance. Nothing stands out. At all.

So in other words, you have to do your research before you can brief us on a particular car? Even though you already know it? Gotcha.

No, you guys just need to wait a year.

That may be your view, but my view is different. Everyone has their own opinions.

Who's a good boy? YOU ARE!
Now the FIAT is the greatest car in the world. Shouldn't have agreed to it.

The Aries may be somewhat important in the history of Chrysler, but that doesn't mean that it's cool.
