That would have been really cool to see, especially in the Kingdome. I think I've outgrown Mosterjam now, though. And the Tacoma Dome just isn't the same.

Well, Monster Jam focuses more on the Entertainment aspect than the Competition aspect, hence why the promoter owns most of the trucks. In fact, the USHRA, the sanctioning body behind the Monster Jam series, has been more about entertainment than racing for many years now. Try and find a Special Events Jamboree near you, the tracks are usually faster, outdoors, and the event's more racing oriented. The Special Events series is the former PENDALINER series.

Oh, and Bigfoot runs that series. They don't run Monster Jam.

I honestly think Monster Jam's "Pro-Wrestling on Wheels" mentality has hurt the image of monster trucks in general, and I wish they could get back to pure racing, like the old Renegades TNT Monster Truck Challenge, or the Special Events PENDA Series.

I wanna see the big figure 8 set up in Louisville Motor speedway again. X3

Never seen Bigfoot, Grave Digger, or any of the other sick-as monster trucks that were in that old Windows 98 game Monster Truck Madness. The 4 monster trucks that DID come to the very south of Australia weren't really that interesting, and they didn't crush the ****ty 80's and 90's Commodores and Falcons that DESERVED to be crushed, instead they did laps of a tiny oval circuit and crushed maybe 5 Japanese hatchbacks. Not to mention the one that was apparently "Australian", wasn't an Australian based car, looked like a Japanese dragon, and caught on fire. Bear Foot was the only interesting one there.

Based on next to no knowledge at all really, Bigfoot goes for an Uncool because it's a Ford. I always loved Monster Patrol and Grave Digger a hell of a lot more, despite them being Fords as well.

Monster Patrol is a Chevy (my favorite as a kid) as is Grave Digger. ;)

Bigfoot is Sub-zero for being a monster truck, as well as being the first.

Of course, my overall favorite is the 1972 El Camino Aces High

A few other notable mentions are Rollin Thunder

and probably THE COOLEST Bigfoot ever, Bigfoot Fastrax which is a fiberglass Ford Aerostar body on a M84 Personnel Carrier chassis

Did I mention the dual Ford 460 V8's?

In the aforementioned Monster Truck Madness game Monster Patrol was a Ford. Can't really remember that far back as to whether Grave was a Ford or a Chev though.

Hmm, well looking through Google Images, Monster Patrol has been a Chevy and Ford. Different versions for different locations/events perhaps?

That's all well and good, but the further you travel across the big pond that separates our countries, the less any of that has any real meaning :P

Rockingham Speedway, Corby, Northamptonshire, UK... British Touring Car Championship...

MONSTER TRUCK DEMO

I went with a mate of mine and we took his little boy (my god son), he was mesmorised by the thing, yes he may only be 5.. but in perspective - the laugh of a 5 year old - it puts things in to perspective... he has no preconcieved stereotypes, red necks, nazi's, black, white, hick, german, american, he's seen F1 cars racing, Touring Cars rubbing, LMPs errr, following each other, GT cars battling... in the eyes of the innocent, awesome is just awesome.... take your sandles off, stop drinking lattes, put down the Audi brochure and just appreciate the fun things for what they are!

If it isn't cool, it isn't cool... but don't vote that way just because you can't reach far enough out of your own *** to reach the cool end of the Poll! (that's directed at everyone, not the quotee above)

What? If I don't think it's cool I'm not going to vote cool because you want me too. The whole point of the cool wall is to discuss how we feel about certain cars, not bash someone because they don't like something.

Five year olds also think that buses, lorries, trains, crayons and eating their own bogies are cool ;)

I personally don't find monster trucks cool. I voted uncool because I don't find it cool, not because I'm a staid, boring, stuck-up berk. They just don't tally with my definition of cool. Fun to watch, sure. They're just a bit "YEEEEE-HAAAH" for my tastes, and that isn't my thing. And as I'm not alone on that opinion, I'm guessing it's not just me being odd...

Understood 👍 Likewise, don't take my comment above as a rebuttal against the way you worded your post :)

This is so Sub-Zero to me because when I was young, (Dang it I have to now admit that!) it was the most awesome dream of any kid to own. You wanted one of these to crush that teacher you didn't get along with, or dad wanted to borrow it to crush the bosses car, or you wanted to scare the crap out of people. Too cool. ---- Randy

He isn't saying vote cool or else... He was just saying "Don't vote cool because you think its a hick sport for hick people."

There's been a dodge body on the Monster Patrol, too.

I think part of it is that Paul Shafer now owns several identities, so he switches bodies around enough to where Monster Patrol has been all three of the Big Three.

If you were a kid again you woulnd't want a quad-turbocharged W16 engined, four wheel drive, carbon fibre-made car. No, you dont even know what all that rubish means. No you would want a BIG AND ENORMOUS THING!!!

For good or bad, its a childish car :dopey:. And today, its a sub-zero .

What a dumb thing to say. It wasn't even particularly appropriate when P. J. O'Rourke said it. That attitude now just makes you out as an ignorant imbecile 👎

I still call them that. I absolutely respect them, and they would be a consideration if I happened to be buying a car that cost $100,000. I just like giving silly names to silly cars.

By the way, a Viper to me is a van-engined neck breaker. :D

VERY COOL!

I used to have a Big Foot Power Wheels F-150. It was so cool, the girl next door to me had a Barbie C4 Corvette Power Wheels, she always wanted to ride in mine. I remember the long drives I took through my back yard, the neighbors yards, it was great fun. Ahhh those were the days, wind in my hair, cruzing through the back yard, taking on my CB radio, which was included. I used to drop the tailgate and sip on some cool juice boxes. Did I mention chicks dig it? (Or rather used to when in pre-school ;D)

I used to think monster trucks were so cool, now a days not so much. But I still have a special place in my heart for Big Foot. :D

Bigfoot, the pioneer of the Monster Truck. Despite the fact that crushing cars entertains me for a few seconds, this is what I think of when one says "monster truck". It is an icon.

COO-

Aww hell...

SUB-ZERO

Uncool unless it's Bigfoot Fastrax or Bigfoot V. Saw them in the Georgia Dome back when I was a kid and went back a few years ago but it's just not the same when your an adult....

Useless fun fact about Bigfoot V: It's tires came off of a an experimental U.S. Military Arctic land train built back in the 1950's

Ah, well at least you aren't actually being serious then. My apologies.

Think I just found a candidate for GT5 car wishlist

<joke>

Although I do have a hankering to play the Monster Truck rounds of Toca 3 now.

With the right tires, Bigfoot can be used as a boat...'Nuff said.

Cool.

Seriously uncool. :indiff: For the simple reason it's not even street legal.

Once again, per the cool wall rules you can nominate racing vehicles. Do you think all racing vehicles, aside from rally cars, are uncool because they aren't street legal?

It's also (slightly) more practical than most other racing/competition cars, except for those pesky parking garages.

They ruin the environment, and that's not cool.

And other motorsports activities don't? Besides, the primary race series trucks (the ones most often run nowadays) run Methanol, whose emissions are pretty clean compared to the Gasoline run in Formula 1 cars, stock cars, and most other forms of motorsport.

as well, very few serious monster truck teams do "irresponsible" off-roading, as the courses are specially prepared in sanctioned events at stadiums, fairgrounds, and speedways.

You should have left it at "not a Saab."
