Maybe it is actually possible to have more than 1 copy of each car. Judging from Amar's pics you receive the cars in the car delivery truck in form of a ticket. Remember that ANY ticket can be sent in GT5, so even though you cant send the car you might be able to send the ticket itself and then redeem it and you get the car. Just me dreaming thats all

Why? At the very least it gives people the opportunity to try before they buy. And they're only able to play on it as long as they're online.

Plus, for people running racing leagues (such as myself), this means everyone doesn't need to have the DLC to compete, meaning more people can race.

I see your point and I think you're right to a certain extent, however it's the next best thing for the community. If only people who paid for it could run it online then the online community would be segmented and there wouldn't be a lot of people running it.

I say it's "the next best thing" because the best thing would be free track packs and pay for the rest (Cars, gears, etc.).

For sure. It would be horrible if only those who paid for the DLC could use it online. This is another way that PD isn't "screwing" people over. If you don't want to pay, then at least, you'll get to try the tracks sometimes. If you paid for it, you get to use it all the time and people will find you popular from then on. 👍

HOWEVER, the LBP2 Collector's Edition I bought for my daughter, has avatars. Those stupid things can only be used on my account. Needless to say, she's upset and I'm PISSED at Sony & MM for doing crap like this. This is the type of bullspit I'd expect from Micro$oft.

Well, everyone I play with is getting it, so I hardly think it's an issue. And if you don't want other people/strangers to race your paid DLC track, don't select it while online. The choice is always yours, and having a choice is good IMO (especially considering all the weird restrictions PD puts in other places ).

Even if it is possible to dupe the cars in some way that still isn't good, you shouldn't have to use what could most kindly be described as an unofficial work around to get more than one car/paint from the DLC.

I mean every other racing game with car DLC has done it right, why can't PD? It makes no sense.

Actually this is brilliant. By extension it looks like it means that any special event that has Spa as the track will be assessable to all regardless of if you buy the track or not, but only people who buy it will be able to use it and arcade and practice modes.

IMO Spec II was awesome and epic, but the DLC`s are the complete opposite.

And I don`t care anymore about all those japanese cars in the car pack. I like every racing car and driving the Schulze GT-R is pretty awesome, I would love to race in a DLC touring car series online!
But... Only get the cars one time? That reaaaaally sucks. Im already bound to do setup tests in online freerun because of the milage each car gets, even with cars like a SLS AMG which can be bought again.
What should I do with 15 exclusive cars I cannot buy again? Racing them, wearing the engine and chassis? Wish those cars would have ben RM`s, they are rm`s anyway, so I don`t understand PD`s approch.
Its the same with the paint chips. Can only be used one time...


Well, I will only buy the track dlc. As long as PD doesn`t change its approach, I will refuse to pay money (as a european, MORE money then US or japanese citizens pay...) for something purely virtual I only get one time. I wonder wether the DLC is account locked, I wouldn`t be suprised If people, who share the console and the game with their brothers/son etc have to buy the DLC 2 times.... Its PD we are talking about...

btw: Anyone noticed that PD has disabled helmets/suits as prizes from every seasonal event? ...

They do, they're called patches. Most games have them, and they're free. The only reason most of them aren't as extensive as GT5's is because there isn't as much missing from the game that should have been in it by the creator of said games own admission.

Also as an example because people like to bash EA and their DLC/non-updating ways, Burnout Paradise was released by them in January 2008, and was a pretty complete game on release. However throughout the year four free updates were released, some completely changing the game including new vehicles, bikes, new game modes, weather systems , challenges etc. Lots of content, all free. They then had paid DLC on top of that. Sound familiar?

When did you notice this? My GT5 has been "locked" while utilizing Race Suspend for an enduro.

Day one of Spec 2, I won helmets & suits for the FGT events.

Well guys, I did some maths based on the specs of the RX-7 TC compared to it's base car (The Sprint R.) And I found something interesting, the Horsepower figure for the RX-7 TC is only slightly higher then the Sprint R (451 vs 459.) Now the Sprint R has everything on it but a high RPM turbo. Leading me to believe the TC's already have every upgrade but a turbo. The weight figure seems to be roughly 0.78x it's base curb weight (+ or - 50kg.) So I did some numbers on them.

Roadster Touring: Car 210HP/721kg
Skyline R32 Touring Car: 490HP/1150kg
GTR R35 Touring Car: 700HP/1280kg (I believe the Horsepower will be around 600.)
Challenger Touring Car: 667HP/1440kg (I think the Horsepower will be around 500 and the weight around 1320-1350kg.)

These are just rough guesses based on the RX7 Touring car, so don't take these as facts.

I'd bet the rebuilds on the engine and chasis are highly discounted just like the chrome line cars, which means miles won't be an issue.
