Merc Slr Mclaren - stock/sports exhaust. Very good.
Hey Mitch, check my feedback on the Fiat Coupé 20v Turbo, you'll not regret it
You also have something wrong at the Amuse part of the OP.
So on the OP list do you want me to say in brackets, (all except Spirit R type A) ? let me know if you have a better idea because I was unaware that all the RX-7's sounded right except for the Spirit, GREAT FIND!
FORD MUSTANG MACH 1 - ANY. The only V8 that keeps a V8 sound for all exhausts.
Ok, been playing with a few more,,,
Porsche 911 GT, sorry, RUF RGT - Titanium Semi Racing exhaust.
Has a definite 911 sound to it, moreso than the full racing exhaust which reminds me more of a broken Ferrari.
Nissan Skyline GTS-T Type M (R32) '91 - Either of the Titanium exhausts.
The semi racing sounds like most of the tuned GTR dyno test videos you'll find littering youtube, and the full racing one has a slightly more aggressively tuned note to it. Sounds similar to my brother's old R33 GTS, only with a slightly lower rev range.
Holden Commodore and Monaro - Sports Exhaust.
Only for the fact that it has a (slightly) more V8 sound than the others. It's such a shame that the semi racing one sounds like it's been recorded at Zanussi's washing machine factory, as it's got a lovely "lumpy cam" sound at idle.
HPA Stage 2 R32 Golf - Titanium Semi Racing Exhaust.
Has a much more defined 6 cylinder VW sound to it than the full racing exhaust. Pretty sure the turbo should be much, much louder than is represented too, but that's a different discussion altogether.
Audi Quattro '82 - Sports Exhaust.
Sounds like a washing machine just starting the spin cycle below 3000rpm, but gets better beyond this point. It doesn't get that famous "dual note" that a well tuned original car will in reality, but this exhaust is the only one that sounds even remotely decent.

Should it sound stock? After all, every car in my garage has been fully tuned, so theoretically it should just have the realistic V8 characteristic sounds. If it sounded like the stock unit even after all that I think I'd be very worried about where the mechanics spent all my money. >:0)
SmuttysyHmm, I don't believe there's anything in the original post about the cars sounding "stock". The phrase used was "as they should sound". A tuned V8, or any displacement of engine, should not sound stock, but will have distinctive characteristics which will differentiate it from another type, with enough real life comparatives to remain within the realms of "as it should sound".
But even a tuned V8 big block shouldn't sound like a straight pipe V6..
Please Keep in Mind, we are only after "REALISTIC" car sounds, Just becuase it sounds like a great, If the car shouldn't sound like that, it won't be added
Confirmation please^
I Linked Holden/Vauxhall Together for now, please let me know If you have objections to this (I'm sure some will for I know little about these companies, but They make the same car models so I didn't know..)
White & NerdyAlso, the '69 Camaro + sports exhaust should be taken off the list. I've tried all three aftermarket exhausts on that car, and the full racing setup is the only one that sounds remotely bearable.
