Nice man. Do you remember that song from Alan Jackson?
I remember "Mercury Boogie" by KC Douglas.

OK, Geezers, another Geezer Challenge from my deranged mind.
Choose yourself any German amphibious vehicle made in 1942. This was my birthday gift car from Kaz!
Must be German, because you're going to the Schwarzwald League in National A Career mode.
Mine looks like this:-

That paint job is good for +5 mph along Antoniusbuche.
Tune it as you will within the constraints of the event, and choose Race 3 (on the Nordschleife). The PP limit is 560, not that you can anywhere near that number with this "car".
Here is the lineup I was given, and the M3 CSL '03 was a real challenge, but useful for drafting.

we could get sidetracked with a "first car" list.
Mine was a 1959 Ford Anglia for 6 UK pounds
Man I wish I could retire and give up this hectic work schedule. It is like being 14 and wanting to drive. I guess I could give up sleeping. That would make for some great driving. It certainly is a lot of fun though when I get to race with you guys.
YES Fun@60!! Those of us who've gleefully reached that day we knew we could sleep in EVERY DAY (if we so choose) for sure remember waiting for the day to come we could ditch the lunch box and thermos 👍👍!! Your day will come bud!! Hang in there!! We enjoy your visits when ever you find time to join the GEEZERS ROOM

Ah the kiss of death is a reference to with a girl in the backseat? Its amazing how much has changed, Back then if you were a kid and your parent gave you 50 cents you could buy a candy bar, a coke, some bubble gum. Also back when they had black and white tv's many people had black and white dreams, it wasn't till color tv's came out did people have colored dreams but it was a while till people could afford a colored tv because most of them costed 1000 dollars.Mine was a '53 Ford, straight 6 with a 3 on the tree - BUT!! - it was a 4 door and we ALL KNOW, or knew back then (early 60's) that "dragging the gut" in a 4 door was looked on by my buddies as a "kiss of death" when it came to picking up girls! Or it was as far as we were concerned! It was understood in our mid Oregon town, NO GUY should get close to a 4 door, let alone drive one! but it was given to me and I could not afford to a different car. Truth be known, it was all I could do to muster a couple $bucks$ by mowing lawns, begging and/or borrowing for gas. Considering gas was ONLY $0.19 a gallon where I lived will let 'cha know just how POOR I was!!!
Can't seem to be able to sign in @ 18:27 EDT. Anyone else having issues?

its nice hearing about the 70's and 60'sLOL Can't say,, didn't try to get a date 'cause I drove a 4 door!! I always believed what my HS buddys told me!
We didn't get a television until around 1958 or so and yes, they were B&W. We didn't have a color set in our neighborhood until around '62 or '63 and my folks didn't get one until the '70's. I left home in '65 got my own apartment and bought a Magnavox color TV/Stereo console for around $350 if memory serves.
4 doors (featuring automatic opening under hard braking)
I might have been ahead of my time. First car was a '57 Chevy I bought in '67. I sold that a year later to buy a '65 GTO. Paid it off one month before I was drafted. Sold it for $1400. I get sick whenever I watch Barrett- Jackson. Looking forward to the Michigan winter weather so I can spend some afternoons driving with you guys.we could get sidetracked with a "first car" list.

I learn to drive on a 1950 Dodge pick-up at 14. Could barely reach the pedals. My first car was a 1965 AMC Rambler 4 doors. But my pride and joy was my 1968 AMC Javelin with a 343c.i., 4 on the floor, Goodyear Wide-Oval tires ( crappy tires ) soon to be replaced with Michelin. My first car was a '46 Mercury Coupe & cost $39.95. Wish I still had it!
I got the same lineup and just squeezed by the M3 at the last turn for a 8.50.151 lap and won by 0.170 sec. Great challenge and great Geezer fun. Thanks Possum

Body and brake calipers in GT METALLIC 009-W won with this car in the current Seasonal Race at the Nordschleife.
Like the color?
I've driven one of these IRL, for maybe 20 miles, and it was just amazing. So precise, so responsive, and the in-game version feels quite like the real thing.
Anyway, I wanted to get your opinion on the color.
I attempted your challenge, Possum, but the BMW Chrome Line pulled away on the long straight because I ran out of gear drafting him. 👎 I did finish 2nd, 2 1/2 seconds behind.
Here's my Schwimmwagen with the Kubelwagen.
