brilliant write up. Just one small quick question if u got time...

Can u change the wheels on standard cars?

Great review so far Amar its a real pleasure reading you insight and thoughts of the game.
Looking forward to your updates,
Bravo care samo naprijed ovo ce biti pravi review i naj realni 👍

:)

Yep im putting my vote in for finding out about the standard car wheels thing. Also after reading your bit about the sounds, you didnt mention turbo sounds. Are these noticable, or are they silent like in the last few GT's?

THANK YOU !!! :)

That review is just fabulous. Can´t wait to have the game on my rig

sorry for the double post :(

Amar212, could you please start a race with full damage modell and would you be so kind to bump with 300km/h into a wall?

Or to put it another way: We need info about visual damage!

I'm asking this question, because this is really the most important thing about GT5. If I want to drive with perfect physics, I could stay with IRacing. But IRacing has no serious damage modell, so this is the part, where GT5 could really take the lead.

Hi Amar and thanks again for all your information.

I have a question, i am french, i understand english but not perfectly. What do you mean by "Slipstream" ? Alternative word for my personnal comprehension please ?

Thank you again. (-;

C'est l'aspiration :). (Just translated slipstream).

the most important information to come will regard the tyre and fuel degradation.

If tyre wear is modelled correctly it will make or break great online racing and offline endurance racing!

Physics and other physics related content is most important. car and track content has already been covered along with other things.

The UNrealistic drafting is GONE!!!! FINALLY!!!!!

except from the physic only bad news, no historical tracks, no option for point to point, no bonnet view, forced to play wiht aids in license.

I think is not saying anything about damage cause it sucks balls like tekken version, i don't believe he didn't tried it.

More questions about physics.

On cars with stiff sway bars (and possibly soft tires), is it possible to lift their internal wheel(s) while cornering? This has never been possible in previous GT's. Some examples:

On a rear wheel drive:

On a front wheel drive:

- Have you tested rollover physics? With a tall car (think of certain Keis like the Daihatsu Move or the Suzuki Wagon R) it should be possible to do this very easily especially after fitting sport or race tires on stock suspensions. Will the car rollover right away without any chance of control, or is it possible with some skill to drive the car on two wheels? It would be interesting to know when the auto-recovery function we have seen exactly kicks in.

Since there has been mention of stunt arenas a few months ago, I guess it should be possible to actually drive cars on two wheels.

Thanks again for your time and reporting job, Amar!

What is that supposed to mean? Enlighten me please, anyone?

I think he was saying that due to the 'poorer' quality of the DFGT and DFP pedals we'd really struggle if we were to turn ABS off. Even on his G25 (which has better pedals) he was locking the wheels too easily and struggling.

I think that's what he meant anyway :D

Basically that without ABS it is easy to lock the wheels. I believe he mentions the pedals as the sensitivity of the pedals aren't as great as the G25, meaning that if you're using the DFP pedals you will have to be very light on the brakes to avoid locking up.

By far the best news in this, is the slipstream has been toned down, this should make online races infinetly better.

Yep, spot on. :)

aside from the game, the model AMG is bigger than I thought it would be. Actually cannot wait now, thanks!

The model he has is not the same as the one that comes with GT5 SE
See that little black box on the right? That houses the model car

Amarr can every premium non race car go under race modification? Ie can I turn an Aston Martin DB9 into an Aston Martin DB9R

That is a quality write up!!

This maybe a silly question, but here goes:

Will/does wind play a role in the game? Driving into the wind...etc. With lightweight car, a strong wind would I guess affect the balance.

i think it was possible. I have a photo that i took on GT4 somewhere, just need to dig it up.

Update #4 is up, regards :)

Thanks for the writeup Amar. Say, when you give the Ps-Eye a go this evening, could you try to define the calibration zone for this feature? - eg. will it register your face properly only at ~ 50cm from the camera, or will 1.50 / 2 meters from the camera be okay too?
