not disadvantaged. just ballasted in a way that puts everyone at the same speed around a given cicuit (not Indy other I wil distort results)

or you could run a season ballasting system so if you win, you get +30kg ballast all the next races. Then 2nd is +20kg and 3rd is +10kg. This way you don't have to worry about ballasting the cars out exactly as the fastest cars eventually win and get ballasted making it harder for them but the poorer drivers get a lighter car come end of season giving them race wins but then they will get a heavy car so my Le Mans we are back at statuts quo

And don't say that is a stupid idea, end off becuase ALL GT champions IRL use that system and it lead to a JGTC championship being won by a car who delibrately never won a race (2nd was their best). So you get tactical people who don't get teh glory of a race win but get the title

horrible, stupid idea, sorry

Ballasts is a tricky subject. We can all agree the GT-Ones dominated last season. They had great drivers and a great setup, similar to S2 with the R8 (I was only at 2 races so going off what others have said). This is not to say the car was that much better. I know At Leguna, I was just as fast as Jam, but made a few mistakes putting me 40 seconds down. But lap for lap my delta to him wouldn't change. GT-One wasn't the fastest around the tracks. I know Johny took 2 fastest laps in the 908, I took 2 in the 787, and I think the GT-One only took a wet race fastest lap. Not sure on Le Sarthe who took fastest. But they're all very similar and it comes down to driver consistency that wins races and wins the championship.

So in honesty, I'm not sure any car deserves a weight penalty right now. Maybe 2-3 races in we can review the results and apply some weight then. Though Jake with the Bentley is still very quick with the extra 60kgs, lol.

How about we get the set ups thatre so great then see if it's driver or car? If someone doesn't know how to fine tune their car but theyre a skilled driver theyre at a disadvantage. I'm not the best at either so mid pack is where I expect to be. But I know I can drive at the front. When you get stuck in 6th you got guys who're impatient and bump you, push you in the grass, wreck you with over optimistic pass attempts etc. I'm not trying to race with losers like that (no names). Thats why I don't race weekends currently.

The difference between the GT-ONE and the Pesky... have you noticed the handling?

My GT-ONE setup can be made better + I have tested on more tracks than just Indy. Nurb GP/F showed 2 secs between my GT-ONE and Pesky, Suzuka 1.5 secs, La Sarthe 2.7 secs (all in favor of the GT-ONE of course).

Did anyone notice?
"I don't know if it's too much ballast for the GT-ONE, but we would've found out if the drivers had been there." :P :)

Whoa, that's some statement. I haven't even raced with you before, so I can't imagine who that person might be. Johny is out, Idk if it's him.

Speaking of testing, I've found Suzuka and Leguna gives the best representation of the overall car performance, at least for me.

2.5 seconds between the cars seems extreme (besides le sarthe). The R10 is 2.5s slower then the Bentley, and the Pesky's aren't that bad, lol.

I'd run the Toyota if I could get a good Tune for it. The Bentley seems more 'planted', less likely to step out. I need that for the Toyota. And the drivers I'm talking about were in the week night race. Couple of them one had a 787, the other I forget, thats why I said no names.

I dont believe any car deserves a penalty. imo the people who are slower are just whinging to get their car performance adjusted.....the sooner people realize that their are faster drivers in the world than themselves(i realize that myself. theyre are people faster than me)(how many people in this league made gt academy? i didnt and neither did any of you guys)...the sooner we can get on with our lives and have good racing.....

A7XMav could wipe the floor with us in an AUDI R10. Nuff said.

i personally in all seriousness dont like the idea of different ballasts for different drivers.
If i beat someone who is carrying ballast in same car and i'm not it will look bad on me

It's a game. Some people got time to fiddle with every little spring setting and some just want a clean challenge and don't have to win every race. I like that theres 2 different types of people who play GT, as soon as people realise it's not that serious then we can all have fun.

lol

I just want to see him drive it, I absolutely hate that car.. well more that I hate I cant get it to handle correctly.

When I attended the pre-season I put the ballast on the car (this was just before quali race as we wen't told prior) and then bam, the cars handling collapsed. The high traction allowing me to get on the power early had completely disapeared. The car was unbelievably slow in a straight line and it was all together undriveable with the oversteer.

Me and Jamm entered my lounge and istantly it was transformed into its old self being mighty fast and driveable. I am well aware that the driver is the biggest facotr but this was maddness. I mean we know GT5 has lots of issues (grip difference in online and offline - lag causing 260mph) but this could of been a new (and hopefully not recurring) issue.

As for ballast, Blaze is right, the driver is the biggest factor and each driver needs a car that suits their driving style. I admit I am extremelly slow but now I hope to challenge for podiums. Should I be penalised in trying to break away from the backmarkers because of Blaze and Jamman having success last season? ANd Johny was usually the fastest guy, with PJ in the MINOLTA dominating fastest alp at Laguna. The GT-ONE won the championship but it was equal to the other top cars, it just the other top cars had bad races as well, the GT-ONE didn't.

THe 908 was slow in my hands but I am much quicker now that I am in the GT-ONE and I know it has t be the cars characteristics, not outright pace since I drive it just like the 908 and when i was in the 908, MU constantly pwned me.

Best race ever, sorry T about cutting into you at the end of Mulsanne on lap 1! I just hammered you, I wish more races were this good.

Yeah that was an intense race. The regular race after qualifying was a great race too. You guys are all good, fast drivers. I have to make no mistakes just to keep up : ) . I enjoy it though...helps me find the corners I'm slower on. The 600hp I'm still having to get used to and finding a car at that level...I run around 800HP in another lemans series but in the R8 01....my girl. I like this series too. Next season I'll run Saturdays when there's room.

And nice Supra too btw Tiss. I always loved Supras but only owned two VR-4's and a 300ZX Twin Turbo. Still have the black VR-4. Supra's still on the list though at some point, after I pick up an M-3.
