I just can't understand why they have disappeared in the group... the Suzuka round pics.

can one of the photographers or someone else make a image wall pick of all the cars we have had in the series

R10
R8 2001 / 2005
Courage
908
C9
Minolta
GT-One
Speed 8

Drum misunderstood the rule about getting out of the way as you are being lapped he did this twice

I had spun off so I figured I'd let everyone past before I rejoined the track.

Since you guys are regulars, I'd like to enlist the help of a couple prototype series people one evening to test out some formats for a weekly series I want to get running this fall.

Basically, I like the Formula Gran Turismo but feel it is woefully underused because it's a pain to drive. I want to make a series closer to GP3 in the horsepower range where the car can still bite you, but it is a lot easier to catch oversteer and the focus is on fun, organized open wheel racing (something missing in GT).

I was thinking maybe sometime during the week or possibly a Sunday?

I want to test
  • Tire life
  • Full races
  • How dramatic the effect of rain on the handling
  • Ring 24H to see if the track still disappears
  • Smaller circuits
  • Other fun stuff

I have something a bit more grand planned than that. In fact, alot more grand. Rather than a picture wall, I want to do a photoshoot showing all of the LMP cars. It would be at the pit straight of Le Mans and would feature all the LMPs. they would line up in the following format:

[PIT EXIT]
/ / /
/ / /
/ / /
/ / /
/ / /
[LAST TURN]

Of course I can change the layout based on attendance and each / represents a car pointing in the diagonal direction. Simple enough?

Would we be able to do it after quali this weekend?

i will insist that all my evil minions will help. GTP needs a good FGT series. right now its impossible to get the other 2/3s of the triple crown.

The only succesfully running FGT series atm is Berty's, but i tried that. They are usin skid recovery, cutting is allowed unless the game's penalty system says it's not etc....

I'll help, of course... I'm guessing I'm one of the evil minions :)

I might be able to do the FGT series and I can do the photoshoot as well. I have the C60, 908 (both of them,) R10, C9, Judd GV5, 905

I was thinking the only aid would be Best Line. The Formula GT is fun to chuck around corners at 470 HP and you can still get the back end in line if it swings out when exiting a corner. No SRF for sure.

Bermuda, what do you think of the photo shoot idea instead of a photo wall?

Oh and Mike I would love to help. Could you run it the same time as the LMP series but on a Sunday? I want to race in an FGT series because I run iit completely wild. No assists. None. Not even ABS. Its wild. But the only good one is rubbish. Oh and I am quite a bit faster than most people I race against in them. Its like reversing me and Jamm in LMP :D

Seriously the replay from yesterday is probably pretty sick, the last 12 laps watching the gap from Tiss to me close and close down, till a fateful mistake in the last 3 laps or so

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Although you didnt use a filter or use the EV settings to make the fireworks even brighter, it looks awesome

also, you put the B the wrong way round.... and it should be a g :D

i still want a photo wall. The Oldschool le mans start pic is a good idea

Bonus points system:

Finishing race = 3 pts (still) + race points
Finishing qualifying race = 2 pts (still), quitting the quali race will give you absolutely nothing
--
Or if

Disconnected = 2 pts (for trying to complete race)
Parking, yet not quitting = 2 pts (for following OLR about not quitting)
Quitting, but staying in lobby / lounge = 2 pts (for showing interest in race)
(Rage) Quitting = 0 pts, you don't deserve anything

will replace the finishing race bonus points. This also makes it impossible for one that shows up for a race to get 0 points.

oh I was planning to have the whole start finish line full of LMP cars but now you have made me feel like an idiot. Why didnt I think of that. We will do the old school Le Mans start style with everyone lined up according to their quali position at the Fuji race.

Like it. Not much but's it's something at least for disconnections :)

Also I like the new renovated OP bermuda 👍

Yeah looks great. There is just one problem with it:

"* There are still a couple of slots open for drivers who are serious about joining the arguably best Le Mans Series on

Razor and I drove around monza several months ago in the FGT at 680 hp and it was a joy to drive! Very controllable and fun battle. We got back in the 787s and were spoiled by the aero grip of the FGT and wrecked everywhere, lol! We used the same aids as this series (was testing monza for this series).

Also I'll upload the replay file later today.

Fuji F.... Fuuuuu-x, I don't like that track. And it's not going to be fun stewarding it afterwards either, so for our sake.. please, stay on the track, don't use a little too much kerb or the tarmac outside the track.. pleeeaaaseee :)
--

Btw... I've got one on my friend list who hasn't been online for 4 months. Should I be worried about his health? He was my red Dead Redemption partner and a GT5 user too, but suddenly disappeared.

If anyone has any interest in testing right now let me know.... I guess I'll be in my lounge. Also, anyone (coughBKcough) who has a BMW lmr setup is my new best friend...

Don't worry. We know how to race and incidents are few and far when racing seriously at Fuji. Although hte back markers will have alot of fun with AMF

And don't worry about your friend. I have one guy who is at about 15 months. Although I know he got a 360. He probably just got a 360 your friend.

I have a setup made by a guy that doesnt usually do seetups at all but love the LMR so much he made a one off

Also, is it illegal to go full pelt into the pits and use the barrier as a natural correctioning tool to put you into the pits?

i drive my bmw stock. lol

Some things to be done.

we should decide as a group on the extra bonus points...
i agree with 2 pts for disconnects if you finished half race distance
2 pts for parking the car after 2/3 distance
1 pt for sitting in the lobby after disconnect -for race interest (only if you didnt already get half race distance 2 pts & you must stay for most of the race )
so for anyone who disconnects can get points = to finishing in 15th + 2 pts if you qualified

Also on the pace lap - i think it should be from now on if you crash out or spin the car in a ditch, you file in at the back of the line, - meaning dead last.
