Don't count on that just yet. You had a 908 in S3 and came 3rd. With the C9 it's only gonna be harder. Jake is gonna be right up there and it's only a matter of time before Razor is back to his best. And obviously don't count out Paginas, Seth or Peter as well. I remember while I won Laguna in S3, PJ nicked the fastest lap off me by two tenths :)

Last night I was beating VegasRacer Bentley vs. Bentley at Laguna, and beat him with my 908 vs his Bentley there as well. Just sayin.

Nissen, I'd be interested to hear your pace at Laguna
 
Something has arisen in the DTM thread..... restricting car tuning. We sometimes get talk in the series about awesome setups and how some people simply don't have the time to develop a setup. Well we could restrict tuning which also bans setups.

its an idea but all cars would have to be tested again to sort out right bhp/pp
 
In S4, I took a brand new, completely untuned R8, without the wing, at 650hp, and on my first lap, did a 1:12.4. A wing, tune, plus 50 more hp must be worth about a second.

The stig did all testing on default settings. But to do a whole season on just 1 set up. That sounds miserable , some LMPs default are straight up rubbish .

The Minolta & 905 & 787b come to mind.........

And the Bentley :yuck:

The difference between DTM cars and LMPs is also a little obvious, right? If these cars drive like * you're doomed, but a 4wd Alfa Romeo... you'll live if the Alfa's tune isn't quite good.
All the DTM cars are pleasures to drive stock. None of these cars are.
 
yea I must admit stock settings are awful on these cars. Even tho I don't change that much to be honest lol
 
Stock tune racing is dumb. If you're having a lot of issues setting up the car, post up and we'll try to help. Most aren't very secretive with their setups and will provide theirs to give a starting point.

We have many public setups available for the cars in this series, however, so that eliminates some of the advantage of having a secretive, killer setup for a particular car.

The only thing that banning custom tunes will do is highlight the differences in performance of the cars at their current level, I think.
 
Oh and I am batch-updating my master spreadsheet on Tue or Wed with results from Spa and the previous race.

If someone like Tiss could post the Spa qualy and race replays, I'll get it done. Just need the replays to confirm DNF laps and quits and whatnot.
 
I will be working on a new short trailer on tues, based on Group C Race Cars... Also ill be testing to tweak the regs slightly for saturdays race.

That picture that golfer took, thats on Seetheair - of 3 cars on the straight. I could not find that anywhere so after a few mins of looking i gave up.

Also some of bombes pics no longer work. And a bunch of them i save for some reason my computer stretches them long and makes it narrow.... hmmm
 
Well PP is broken unless you're a magic tuner. The R8 01 is less PP than a 905, only because the 905 weighs 750kg. But we all know the R8 01 is the fastest lmp. I did 1 13s with the 905 in yesterday's play races, but that was at 695pp. More weight, and less than 680hp. Equalising the cars would require everyone to drive them to see where it's weaknesses and drivers weaknesses are. Thats my take.

What pictures aren't working? If it's any use, all of the pics I have posted should be available somehow on Photobucket.
 
Did more testing at Laguna, very perplexing race to make a pit strategy for. 44 green laps may call for a different strategy than 47... :/

Yeah ok I will admit that is it's only flaw. After you've posted it, for 10 - 15 mins it does this while gyazo is doing something technical (idk what). But it appears again shortly :) It's still easier.

Your very theoretical. Are you saying you think I work in the TV shopping industry :sly:
