This... doesn't... compute... Failure to understand...

How can you choose the very low to the ground car, as your favourite, while saying that "it's a Lexus, not a tuner?"

Also, P.S., it would be nice if PD let us paint our rims in metallic shades...

But you see, there's a whole world of lowered Lexii with nice wheels. It's called VIP. :sly:

O I c how it is. You're one of them. :grumpy: I would need a six inch metal plate around all of my bumpers if I did that. I refuse to avoid speed-bumps...

(Bumps, taken at speed, on racetracks, naturally.)

Hey, I like the VIP Lexus crowd, but I wouldn't want to have one of my own, because it's just not practical.

Sorry, I had to.

But, in all seriousness, I can have a VIP Lexus, but, simply raise the ride-height to an acceptable Canadian's standards.

Those VIP lexi look like ghetto thug junk with busted suspension from too many jelly-rolls riding around in em. Morons who do that kinda stuff shouldn't be allowed to own anything beyond a golf cart! just sayin.. :dunce:

Well, if I have to have a golf cart because you said so, then I want this one. :dopey:

There's a difference between what you think they've done and what they've actually done. There's no busted suspension involved here.

I for one love VIP and Stanced cars. If I had the money, I would definitely invest in a set of nice alloys, springs for my Lexus - maybe even bags.

VIP is an acronym; "Not For Track Use" and that's a problem. Sure, it sorta looks nice... to snoooop doggg, but, nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

You can have a VIP car and still use it.....and Snoop Dogg?
VIP started in Japan, Snoop Dog style might be raised with 26 inch wheels.

You have no idea what your talking about.
These cars have full coilover suspensions+other goodies....how is that busted

and

Clearly VIP style, but has done more track work than mos sports cars Look at those brakes!
326 POWER!

It's funny because it is.....
Watch the video, it's a fully built drift car...

Also, why are you trying to buy a Lexus and turn it into a race car or something.

I'm not; I want to time attack/autocross in a nice car, and use it as a daily driver.

I'm a touring car type. I wouldn't bash door-to-door in a Lexus. Never!

But, I'm interested in Castrol Canadian Touring Cars... So, I'll probably end up in an Integra or such, for a real racing car...

I can tell you now you wont do anything worth doing in a SC...they are boats.
drifting is hard in them, so imagine trying to Auto-X/Time attack...you'd have to completely strip it.

If you can turn a 3600 pound car into a Auto-X car and be competitive, I will make a video calling you the Auto-X god.

 I'll figure it out. The V8's got torque. I've also seen a stock Corvette running Auto-X up here, and imagine that I'd be in his class. (So was a Toyota Echo, though... :scared:)

If you're gonna use a Lexus SC400 to autocross, you're gonna have a bad time. Your best bet is to just use it as a daily driver, but just drive it aggressively.

Another new avatar?

No, you see, someone at the track was using a 1950s Mercedes... Ummm, a 1950s 190D I think? Yeah, it isn't that bad, in a Lexus... But, it will do best at Mosport, and I know it.

But of course. :dopey:

Why in the world would one use a Mercedes-Benz 190D for a track day? It wasn't restored, was it? If it was, that would be sacrilege, you know. :dunce:

But anyways, I have a feeling you may change your goal after driving an SC400, unless, you've already driven one...

Ummm, it was a pre-restoration bet, actually. In one of the earlier track sessions, one guy said "He'd be fast in anything." So, in reply, the 190D owner switched cars for one round, to see. The 190D, unfortunately, was too much to overcome, and was last overall; another victim to the Hyundai.

However, the SC400 is better than my current Hyundai. So is the FF Mazda Atenza thing, (what's it called now? Mazda 6?) and the Infiniti G37 and the BMW M3... But not the RX-7.

In the end, it's all about the tires. :dopey: That's why the SC400 will work. Especially when I do the suspension & brakes myself.

So have you actually driven the SC400? If not, I'd say it could change your views. Lexii aren't exactly sports cars to drive. But if you still feel inclined to tune it yourself, and you have the resources to do so, and you're not worried about resale, then go for it. 👍

Doog, Winter Stars won't always just be making GT5 tunes. The first car, the "Look, at my business! We mean business here at my business!" will be my Lexus project. I'll start working on it in college, and afterwards. Upon completing it, to an agreeable standard, I'll open up a speedshop... I'll offer up some quality enhancements for many cars, using the Lexus as my "business card."

Well, you wouldn't exactly be the first person to tune an SC400, but it might just be unconventional enough to make people remember Winter Stars. Maybe. Though, if I wanted to be remembered, I'd tune an LS430. 💡

I know of a SC that is quite the drift machine, granted it's stripped out.
Google Risky Devil SC300.
Clean, but for auto-x I doubt tires will all you will need.
If that's the case, I can auto-x my ES with tires.

Meh. I want to make an impression.

Tuning something like an SC300/400 into a 'Vette killer might do the trick. Granted, I can't be sure that I'll beat the Vettes, but, if I can even come close to the C6 ZO6, it won't be hard to persuade people... :dopey: I also think I should probably make new (and functional) aero packages... '97 front bumper with a custom lip spoiler (Gurney flap attached to OEM rear wing,) re-designed rear bumper (to act as a diffuser) and a splitter...

Mosport *was* a downforce dependant track, before Ron Fellows & Canadian Tire renamed it.

& Hella, look up "T&E Soarer"

That car has nothing in it, but I love it.
When Forza 4 first came out, it was the first car I made, Vertex aero and all
I loved that car(in the game)

Same. Seriously, though, Forza didn't get the bumpers quite right. It looks WAY bigger in game than in real life.
