Stopping faster isn't really the objective of a brake upgrade. C'mon man, you should know this...(which is pointless, since it already stops on a dime)
That would be more a brake balance issue, so proportioning valve.Depends on the vehicle.
I guess that works.Well take for example a '64 Chevy Impala with 4-wheel drum brakes. If a person got a brake upgrade for it, I'm sure they would consider stopping faster as the objective.
Well, brake fade, brake modulation, brake application, brake release, brake feel in general. The general "capacity" of the brake system becomes much higher.buickgnx88Now if you were to be specific, and said a racing brake upgrade, then of course stopping faster wouldn't be the main reason. It would be to fight brake fade, which is what I assume you meant when replying to Azureman.

Or a car with drum brakes on 2 wheels
I guess that works.

Me.Who is that a response to?
I'm sorry that I preferred to be more "technically correct." It's just my nature.Stop splitting hairs. The reason for brakes is to stop/slow the car. Brake upgrades are to stop/slow the car better.
Fine."I'm so smart and cool because I know everything and I'm also cracking down on how people word themselves."
Oh please.. Post your car instead
This thread just got full of win
Very good looking indeed, good shots.Couple of pics of my E46 318Ci taken last December
Tell me about it. It's not as bad as it was right now, but it's still painful to fill up every week(couldn't afford anything with a bigger engine and gas prices don't help much either).
Love the Subies!!
Nearly?! I see a ton of snow!
