Gave it a shot today... too much stuff going, little noises, talking, and also work in my head, can't concentrate, can't get even close to yesterdays times, done in absolute silence.

Decided to watch replays, and do some test runs and that showed me a lot of places to improve. Now I have to put that all together on a lap tonight :)

My first hour with the stock got me a 1:50.570. Not great, but not bad as I havent played prologue in about 2 months. I will have another go tonight, a low 1:49 is my target. :)

And the driving physics, graphics etc. are amaazing:tup:

Whoever is using my GTP screen name is first in the USA... Imagine my surprise when I opened the leader boards and I was already on top without having played yet. :)

Well today I tried out my G25 instead of the DS3 (it was connected to PC, nothing to put it on in living room, so had to move ps3 into my room with my monitor. What a shame!)

I spent maybe 40 minutes having a go. I cut my tuned lap down by 1.3s and my non tuned by 2s.

Tuned - 1:37.746
NT - 1:50.075
Total - 3:27.821
Australia, rank 26.

Will spend a lot more time on it tomorrow and be aiming for top 15. :)

Just gave it a shot with the DS3, managed a 1'53.051 on the second lap which was good for around 250th position. Still not great but i'd say it's quite controllable with the dualshock.

I'm 17th in my country with
1'50.987 1'38.130 3'29.117
Still behind Kaz and Lucas, but not as bad as I thought :)
It's still only 1 day though, I think top 20 positions will start to stabilise only after 1 or 2 weeks.

It's amazing the amount of nicknames with good times that I had never seen before online or on leaderboards on GT5p

Luckily I have MAY's ghost to follow :)

Returned to GT playing last night, after many, many months away. Decided to go for the tuned car first, it would make for an "easier" comeback. Since meagainstyou belongs to another league completely, I tried to understand what kind of times you two guys were doing.

Didn't do too bad myself with the tuned car (1'38.161), and before I left I had a brief try with the normal car, so only have a lousy time on that one (1'51.594).

I'm a bit off-pace, will try to improve 👍

Update off my times:
This morning i was thinking "my god, hopefully i didn't lose the good feeling i had with the cars yesterday" I went out with the tuned car and already on the first lap i beat my previous record with almost 8 tenths  WTH?

NORMAL: 1:51.075

TUNED: 1:38.165

TOTAL: 3:29.240

Dont have the laptimes for the cars in my head right now.

Total: 3'29.535
DualShock 3, cockpit view, racing line off, manual transmission.

i want the replay from GTP_DHolland :>
he's really really really fast
post it please DHolland

He already posted it here ...

Look for posts under the name MarkWebber. I see he's gone under 3'24.000 now ... can't let the Japanese beat the Aussies now can we :-) Time to start the 'C'mon ozzie c'mon' chant! Mad's doing great too but I think he's third overall now.

I could really use some advice on how to take turns 8,9 and 10. I can stay with all the top times in turns 1-6, then I always loose a bit of straight line speed on 7, then on 8-10 its like I am standing still because by T11 I am already 2-3 car length behind. What erks me is that I am actually hitting 155mph at the start line and sometimes will be ahead trough turns 1-3, then even on 5-6. Its just that middle section that is destroying me. I am stuck at a poor 1'38.129 (tuned)...ugh.

And for some reason I STILL cannot figure out how to disable traction control for the stock Z. I plugged my wheel in booted my PS3, booted the game (with no controller on), selected the stock Z and I still cannot change the setting. This makes setting a top time impossible. Anyone know what to do? Thanks.

Is it just me or does the yellow part coming out of turn 7 seem to slow you down abit? It also seems like when you slide in it, it makes you spin alot more. Just got through doing ten laps in a row(surprising considering I'm about ready to quit after the first two unsuccessful laps) and I'm getting close to my 1'38 times but only managing 1'39s. I know I can get into the higher 1'38s and maybe even the 1'37s, I just can't find where I'm losing time.

For me the biggest time gainers are the final and first corners. Enter T11 as wide as possible, brake a TINY bit and cut in as deeply as possible, with about 60-75% throttle, make sure you exit smoothly then on turn 12 start way wide and cut in, your exit point should be just past a dark metal grate on the left hand side wall. If you do this perfectly you should be able to hit 155mph across the start line. For T1 start as close to the wall as possible, brake hard and I am not joking clip the tires with your mirror, use the hard turning to scrub speed then turn in for T2-3. I can't help you with the rest because that is where I fail... good luck.

And just after I post that, I've gotten a 1'38.462 :D Turns out I was making alot of time off coming onto the oval the entire time as I noticed I was flying past my ghost going into 1. Now I'm gonna try your advice for Turn 1, just hope I don't smack the tire barriers.

Tuned: 1.40.310
Normal: 1.52.940

I can't believe how nervous and jittery behind the wheel. Could be excitement, could be I had too much to drink at the office party, but still. I think I'm leaving .500 out there on the track. I love the way the tuned feels around the track and how often I spin. Overall impression is very favorable.

After being first yesterday, almost a sec in front of the 2nd in my country, I was down to 4th by the time I got home from work this evening :ouch:.

But I managed to get first place back ( with GTP_Manuelos in 2nd) with these times:

Stock: 1'48.659
Tuned: 1'36.804
Total: 3'25.463

Well done to Manuelos for leading with the tuned Z atm with 1'36.724 👍

Yeah, same here. Not first... but dropped 2 places, recovered 1 on my test runs. Really looking forward for tonight :) a lot of work to do in the tuned.

yeah, I have alot of work to do in the tuned aswell. If I compare to mad94d, I'm only 0.2 behind him in the stock Z, but a massive 0.8 in the tuned :ouch:

Again, this has nothing to do with the gameplay, but I looked on the rankings and then laughed when I found this guy:

Perhaps the Americans might reconize him, I know it caught my eye

Not touching the tuned car until I break into the 1'48s with the stock version. Currently 1'49.776... seems I'm unable to hold enough speed through corners 7 and 11... and corner 6 could use some smoothing out.
