At the moment I'm in the 1'50's in the standard car. I tried the tuned car last night but I was struggling with it, but I'm slowly getting faster with the stock car and I'll jump back into the tuned one soon.

Sadly havn't had chance to play the demo today.

But a 1'35.xxx :dunce:

I think GTP_DHolland/Holl01/MarkWebber had better get down to the gym to get fit enough to handle the forces of the car and also try and get as much high speed driving experience as possible in real life. Daayum! (I'm guessing he already knows this :P)

I'd bet he's safely in the top 5 worldwide with that time.

I wonder if Kaz ever thought 3'23.9xx was a possibility, let alone a reality.
Surely there isn't too much more:drool:

Can anyone playing right now in the USA take a look at the overall leader boards for me? I need to know if there's anyone in front of me also using a controller.

Thanks. :D

Well... after around 1 hr of playtime I managed to do a 1:40 something with the tuned version using G25 and playseat. I dont consider it that bad since I achieved rank 600 something overall ... but im really sad that the country im currently in (U.A.E) is not included and hence there is no point wasting time on this ... im really sad 👎

1'52.035 in the stock 370Z
1'38.309 in the tuned
3'29.344 overall

171st in Great Britain right this second.

The stock 370Z I'm going to have trouble breaking that time down because I'm using the DualShock 3 and it appears TCS is permanently stuck on 7, so its difficult to get a good handle on the car sometimes and rarely do I get a good exit as its constantly stopping the throttle.
Tuned there's a bit more room for improvement, only 2 seconds off the ultimate pace (for the UK anyway) and I'm not completely satisfied with my laps just yet.

I feel I'm at my limit of what I can do with that TCS hampering me but might be able to find a second with the tuned. As always though, its just practice, its nice to be higher up the times for a change, this track and car combination suits me far better than Eiger last time.

You are by far the fastest with a controller on the US leaderboards... everyone else ahead of you is using a wheel.

Update of my times:

NORMAL: 1:51.035

TUNED: 1:37.755

TOTAL: 3:28.790

Keep in mind: Times are set with the standard PS3 Controler.
After X-mas i hope to improve with a G27 and playseat.

Is there a possibility to see on the leaderboards who is driving with a controler and with a wheel?

Kinda hard (in a challenging way) when improving around a second only brings me back to 15th again... still I will crack the 37 on the tuned (38 flat now) and haven't tried the stock today.

I guess I should be happy to remain in the top 15 by the end of the weekend :/

Going back to subject of "cutting" corners, I'm loosing to the #1 (meagainstyou) in the final part. You are great around the last slow S and the penultimate corner, that's where you (I'm using your lap as ghost) pull away. I'm just too slow and too messy respectively :(

Break time... May not improve any more today... too tired... need rest...

Just finished for today.
I only tried to improve the normal 370Z as yesterday already had a nice time.
After losing almost 10 places during the day (!) I managed to improve to:

13
Gaviao_GTPT
1'50.105
1'38.130
3'28.235

megainstyou is my good ghost to follow :)

I've given up on the Normal car so don't expect anymore times from me there, I just can't improve at all. I'm starting to think I should do the same with the Tuned car as well since I just will never hit 1'37. I'll never be anywhere near R1600Turbo with a stick as the best I managed was a 1'38.436. Maybe if I had actually waited and gotten a G25 instead of this piece of crap Mad catz wheel (that I intend on selling), I would be doing loads better. Then again, I'd probably be just as crappy with it. I guess this is yet another chance to attend a race I just will never have :ouch:

I know the pain Ardius! For some reason PD haven't given us the ability to turn TC off so we need to be extra smooth with the controls and imputs or the lap is wrecked. I've just spent all evening trying to put in a decent time and finally managed something I'm happy with. Makes me laugh when watching the replay, you see the red bar flicking up and down when everyone else just pulls away nicely. Makes you feel like a beginner all over again

At the moment I've got 1'39.590 for the tuned and 1'51.918 for the stock giving a total of 3'31.508 which it says is the 467th best combined time. When I started tonight I was about 950th so I can't complain.

Because the cars are a bit more tricky to control you seem to be able to make up a lot of time if you get a few corners spot on. Likewise you can easily lose a handful of time with a few slides coming out of corners but I am slowly getting to grips with it, I'm even getting confident with the stock car and when I first drove it I could hardly keep it on the road.

If the cars are like this and they put rain in GT5 things could get messy!

Using my Japan account. I qualified last year but withdrew and don't have time again to really take it further and don't want to take the place of someone who has. I expect some will go just for the day out.

1'48.820 standard
1'36.906 tuned
3'25.726

Good enough for top 10 in most countries at the moment.

I've not used my G25 for 8 months but just fancy a play at this. New physics are great.

My times so far using FLASH48.

Overall: 3'29.385
Tuned : 1'38.635
normal: 1'50.750

PS. I have an excuse, old people drive slow!!:)

:grumpy:

He's not good, he's God 👍

Just cracked the 37 and edged passe you:), only to see us both passed by someone else... :ouch:

I'd like to try and crack the 49 on the stock... but now my kid woke up...

Managed 1:38.773 after a few hours. Can't see where I am losing 2.5 secs cos I'm spinning out 4 out of every 5 laps trying to apply power smoothly. Also 1:53 something on Normal car, just wanted to record a time so will work on that tomorrow. Need sleep.

Tuned
1.39.897

have not messed with the stock as yet cause I rarely used N or S tires in GTp

Ah but his times might be beaten. He's currently no. 1 but with enough effort there are a few drivers out there who could challenge his position.

Either way, i think we have our first finalist.

With every track and car there is a theoretical maximum possible time. Dan usually hits it with his first attempt, sometimes it takes two tries. The rest of the pack then see how close they can get to the theoretical maximum.

I know that sounds inplausible but I've raced in and followed WRS for a long time and that's just the way it always seems to pan out.

I agree with the previous recommendation. At this point the chance of a sub 3:24.000 time not being top 20 are slim to none, so I'd be putting away the playstation and hitting the gym so that he doesn't get cut because of lack of fitness like so many did at the first Academy.

I'd probably do pretty well on that front because I'm very fit (weightlifter, cyclist etc.) but I'm a bit old at 45 and I'd need a massive infusion of raw talent to even consider the times being posted as achievable (in WRS I was pretty consistent at about Div1 winning time + 3-5%, meaning I'd expect to be able to do something in the low 3:3x combined time).

1:37.771 Tuned... TRW I have your replay loaded up and chasing lol. I always beat you in the entry of T1, but you edge me out at the end of the S and keep pushing. Don't think I'll catch you, but I'm happy trying.

Currently 29th on Tuned US leader boards and won't give up till I cut it down to low 7's :)

Tuned - 1'36.590
Normal - 1'49.167

Currently ranked overall P6 in Australia. Bit of work to be done in the normal car.

1'49.118 + 1'36.874 = 3'25.992
Currently P8 in Australia, I expect to get whooped any time though.:sly:
