That makes things interesting. Maybe run Darlington this week instead?

Very interesting, maybe run Darlington as the points paying race it was intended too be as well?

Oh god no, that's me finishing last then.

Tyre wear off maybe? Just a suggestion, although it would make the race less interesting.

We'll either shorten the race to eight laps, or run 10 laps with fuel and tire wear off. I'll have a final decision by tomorrow.

Run two 5 lap sprint races. Split points in half for each race. Simple.

This was what I was originally thinking but I thought it might have got tricky with laps led, pole, .5 points etc.

If someone has x.5 points at the end of the two races, then round it up or down or something.

Drop, you should put up a couple different options and put it to an owner's vote. Would that work?

8 laps is almost exactly 150 miles, so this weekend's race will be the Aaron's 150, 8 laps around SS Route X, with fuel and tire wear set to ON.

I'll use my 2/3 points when I can, I didn't have anyone set up to race for me yesterday, kind of a last minute. If I can get someone to commit to next weeks race, I'll use the points then.

Hendricks will not have any drivers for the next race. So Matty can drive for me. And if Smuffy or Carbonox want to drive for Dowhat or Mudd they can. And if they don't, any other interested drivers please let me know.

Please let me know if you plan on using your one-time 2/3 points substitution for this weekend. Before the race starts, I need to know which driver is filling in, and for whom he will be earning points. I also need you guys to make sure that the substitute driver is driving the same car (year and number) that the normal driver would be driving if he was in the race.

Example: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7132190#post7132190

If your substitute driver will not be racing for 2/3s points for the normal driver, no post or announcement is required ahead of time. Just have the replacement driver show up for the race, and they can participate as normal.

Carbonox is driving for 2/3 pts for Mudd. Matty will be permanently driving the #24 for the rest of the series. He will be earning all of his own points for the Chase. I believe DoWhat was waiting to use his 2/3pts if needed in the Chase (assuming he makes it in).

Is Matty going to be earning 2/3 points for you in any certain race between now and the end of the season? I might suggest Suzuka East, as he has proven especially capable on the road courses. Plus, there's much less risk of being caught up in a huge wreck like there is at Daytona or SS Route X.

There is maintenance in 11 hours time, hopefully fixing the bugs they created from fixing the bugs they already had.

If they fix SSRX pit lane, will we still race here for the full distance scheduled?

Na, I thought about it (discussed with Matty) and he can earn all of his own points. I don't think 2/3pts will do me any good if I can't race and it will only hurt his chance at moving up the leadder for the Chase and Team Ownership. I don't think I will be an owner next series, I'll probably just race NW if I get on a team. But Matty is officially hired by HMS as the #24 driver for the remainder of the series.

8 laps on a single tank will be interesting..

Will it do it without draft though?

I wouldn't recommend losing the draft for at least the first 4 laps or so. :sly:

I have no intention of losing it at all ;)

I was just wondering if the car could make it without :dopey:

Yes, Matty will earn full points for himself in every race, even in the one race where he earns 2/3 points for Crazy_Bassist83.

Example, Last year's Brickyard 500 Results (see Mustartaddict and Matty's results, and the points awarded to dowhat and furi):

Well, since he can earn full value of his points and 2/3 towards me. Maybe like you suggested with Suzuka, have him earn my 2/4pts for that race? I would be interested to see if that would possibly keep me on the border for making the chase despite if I don't race again. How do the standings look? Is that idea too far off? If it is a long shot, then nevermind he will only earn his own points. I can't see the standings here at work. Can someone tell me how far off I am now and would be if Matty did earn me points (cough....Droptop)?

Your on 39 and the last chase spot is currently at 55. Only reason I mentioned it too you was because I thought I could use 2/3rd points for every race :dopey:

Oh okay, I was wondering why. I knew there had to be some kinda confusion. Thats ok though. Well with me at 39 and the chase spot is 55. Thats 16points needed within two races. So it would maybe, maybe like remotely work if you won, got pole and most laps led LOL. So nevermind, just take it and run with it Matty and good luck 👍!

I have too races too get me from 21 into the chase

Only way I could make it would be if I won the two races and had the wildcard as most wins :dopey:

You're not eliminated until you are officially eliminated. The way the standings sit right now, everyone that is running for Sprint Cup points is still mathematically Chase eligible. Winning the last two regular season races would guarantee the wild card spot for any driver that did it, even if they hadn't started a single race all season up to this point. After this next race, the Chase-clinching scenarios will definitely get a lot more clear going in to the last regular season race.
