We change our clocks on the first Sunday of November.

So it appears that Europe will change their clocks the Sunday before the High Speed Ring race, and North America will change their clocks the day after HSR. Since HSR is a fairly short race, we can adjust the time as necessary to get the most drivers in the race. We'll take a poll about the starting time during the off-week before the race.

Actually, Green Flag is 21.00 UTC. When clock change will be done for everyone in the world, the Green Flag will be at 22.00 UTC.
For HSR, i think the fair way would be to give the Grenn flag at 22.30 UTC which will be 30mn later than usual for EU and 30mn earlier for NA.

Green flag is always scheduled for 5pm in my time zone, which is currently EDT. I simply provide the UTC or BST time for reference, not as the initial setting point. If we start the race at 5pm my time that week, it will be 9pm your time (a full hour earlier than normal), which I know is too early for Knelly, and might run into conflicts with TOCA. A normal 2200 GMT start time for the UK drivers will be at 6pm (1 hour later) in our US Eastern Time Zone. Since this is a shorter race, this will probably be the best solution.

We'll take a poll the week of the race to determine the best possible start time for that one week where our times do not normally match up 5 hours apart. We'll wait to figure that out then, instead of worrying about it now.

Since drivers are from all the world, i don't like to use EDT, BST, PDT, PST, EST, CEST, CET, etc...cause it's a bit confusing for some of us. UTC is the 0 time and will be, forever, no matter if we change time zone etc, this is why i like to use it.

Just say that cause i don't want you miss the poll with all the times, plus guys will have to think that EU have already changed the time but not NA, So that poll can be a bit confusing for most of us. ;)

When we vote, I will make sure I spell out all of the times as specifically as possible. :)

Is it a bad thing that the defending race winner would just be happy getting a top 5 in this race?

Nope.

Would it be embarrassing for our road course champions if a rookie were to grab a win here? ;)

Akmuq is leaving SGR with immediate effect due to working reasons. He will be replaced in the 2011 #42 car for the rest of the season by Nationwide driver Spurgy777, who will be running for team points for the rest of the season.

Team points only? Presuming by that he will still be running for Nationwide Campionship?

Why? With only 2 races completed, Spurgy could still very easily qualify for the Chase, especially as a wild card, where a win at any of the three remaining road courses is very much a possibility for him.

If he is a declared Nationwide Championship driver, he can't qualify for the Chase, even if he wins all three Sprint Cup road course races. Also, any wins made while classified as a Nationwide driver do NOT apply toward Chase qualification.

If I were Spurgy, I would declare eligible for the Sprint Cup right now, and remove my entry in the Nationwide Championship race.

Spurgy wants to stay in Nationwide to help the NW team and guide them up the order.

I haven't decided for sure yet, I might change my mind :)

You really should reconsider. As a Sprint Cup driver, you would be allowed to make up to 3 starts in the Nationwide Series for your team's benefit. Mule is very reasonable, so I'm sure he would allow you 3 more NW starts for this season, not counting your first two starts, where you were officially a registered NW driver at the time.

I think you should take the Cup seat bud, hell if I hadn't have got into the Cup Series just before NW was introduced I'd probably have had to work my way up cause these opportunities don't come too frequently. Considering there's a lot of good drivers in the NNS that will move up to the Cup next season, it would be a good idea to cement your place in the Sprint Cup with a solid run this season.

It means everyone in class A & Spurgy is faster than the rest of the field. Damn, gonna be another tough weekend I suspect.

I have never, ever heard of this being possible in the past, just so you know...
