Will have to download this so, sounds like 100 laps at Daytona is becoming a possibility :dopey:

Ah, but people still had to pit halfway through at 75 laps of Daytona back at Season 2 (the first race I led BTW) even though the old tire model was in place.

Not sure how much more the tires can take now though :dopey::dopey:

supposedly further than pre-pre-patch. Like the old tire model from the look of things.

Furi got 50 laps on new model, FURI..

I could have got 55-60 with Joe in the 200 (Second last chase race of S3) so I currently think its a big possibility.

The one where both of us got wrecked and we nearly reached the lead pack?

I'm sure the tyres last much longer and a lot more laps are possible, but there's this little thing called FUEL that will probably run out first. Once you get past 50-55 laps in a stint in the race, you're just running on fumes.

That's setup, anyone could have got 50 with the setup, the only reason I lost my tyres in the Bud Shootout was due to a slight variation.

Also, 100 laps may be possible, but good luck getting the fuel to last that long.;)

Yeah, 50 was possible with no aero; I think I was the top finishing no stopper in the shootout. Just shows you how aero dependent the tyre wear is/was.

You would have won if it wasn't for the wreck and Niop and Knelly were taking the 1-stop strategy anyway.

I'm definitely going to need to test all of this stuff to iron out the specs. Don't expect hard tires to stay if they are going to last so long. It's very likely we'll go to medium tires.

As for qualifying, I have no idea what we are going to do, as I don't want to spend an hour watching each driver make 4 lap runs alone on track. We might just go to a standard "inverse order of points" starting lineup for all races, and no longer have a pole point.

Mediums and softs last much longer as well, I doubt that's the answer.

As for qualifying, I've heard that the 'no collisions' setting disables the draft. We could just use that.

So maybe soft tires with "no collisions" only enabled during qualifying?

Definitely soft tires. You guys will have to test but soft tires now have a very similar wear rate as hards did pre-2.08. Hards as of now can last forever and it kills the objective of tire strategy. Everyone is going to 1-stop Suzuka and Motegi if we are on hards.

EDIT: btw when I tested, I noticed no differences in feel in my ride height settings.

Going to open a lobby now, all night, anyone on my friends list to test pretty much everything, a V8, TOCA car, NASCAR, Truck, don't care but we need to test.

Point about me getting 50 laps. Thats set up, Chqr witnessed me driving at 892hp around Daytona with 4 black tyres once.

Anyhow downloading update now and will set room up. PD just threw a huge curveball in our direction.

Fuel I think is good for about 65-70, although I think I am wrong on that.

Can you confirm this? I've seen some posts about softs lasting longer than hards again.

This is mental. A 750hp NASCAR Truck Silverado would have around 40% wear after 10 laps and last for 20-25 laps on tyres. Now its... 5-10% after 10 laps. Barely 1% wear a lap.

I btw think we should continue as planned for Sprint Cup, throws a new dimension. As for quali I suggest to avoid big teams mugging small ones, tandems only? If you go to ghost cars you will re set room and times when you switch it off.

You can just line the cars up on the grid after it's switched off.

EDIT: Better yet, we can just run a no collision race for quali.

Absolutely NO to softs or mediums. Please.

There is no way we stay on hard tires if they are going to double their life cycle. Pit strategy is supposed to be part of the equation.

Drop. I am getting same, if not better wear out of a Racing Soft since the update than a Racing hard pre-update.

That's just awesome, let's go start an iRacing league before PD cut out fuel usage or something.

We have this weekend off. Let's do a test race at Indy on Hards. 60 laps just like last week and go from there.

By my estimates tyre longevity for all compounds has been tweaked. Softs and mediums doubled, hards tripled.
