I've been planning on making a NW discussion thread, but obviously I got a little distracted. I'll get one up after the race this weekend.

hhmm just found an awesome tune. try full min-max on the aero, then -0.5 front toe, and +.63 rear toe. do that and set your dampers at about 2-8 (both). works a treat. just managed a 37.8 with it 👍. that would be my base tune for quali, hope that helps you hendrick guys 👍.

I still like the idea of limiting the amount of times active SC drivers can earn NW team points to something like 3-4 races. After that, you can race, but you are racing to help your teammates, not yourself.

Me and RPH would love this idea as we were running almost every week after 'our' (RPH's) fall out with Grinols. And I didn't and still don't have a great schedule for that timeslot

Cheers Sam, seems about 4 seconds off the pace though 👍

In response to S3 NW thread:

Well I'm available for NW but would need to keep it at its current time slot or an hour later. I can't do much later than that. I have family commitments before I go to work on Saturday. That's the reason I quit sprint cup in season 3. So if the schedule works for me, I'm available to drive for any team that needs me.

I am also available to drive for any manufacturer. But particularly want to stay away from Ford. I would prefer my current #24 2011 car as well. Or second preference would be an #83. If I need to drive any other cars, I would definitly need tunes. So the easier it is for me (since I have no time to re-tune for the bizzillionith time) the more effective I can be on track.

I also don't do road courses. So 75% oval schedule would be my preference on schedule.

I'd push NW start time back to where it was in season 1, I think it was 1:00 Eastern (have to check).

High Speed Ring will find its way back due to popular demand. Probably replacing Nurburgring. Monza will probably also go. Suzuka East and Laguna Seca will stay. One of the SSRX races might get axed as well.

After that, I don't know. We'll figure it out after I get the thread up. Of course this is all assuming there's sufficient interest for both the series in general, and me hosting it.

Throw on Motegi short (west?) course. That could make a fun NW short track. :mischievous:

I think a way for both the DM1 series and Nationwide to run in the same timeslot would be to simply run it like this season. (NW during the regular season for Cup, DM1 during the Chase)

👍 agreed, this way I can keep racing n pissn off da wife  I'm serious

Which prevents who from racing?

Well we used to have Neljack in this didn't we, And last season at least we did have some people who would have not been in. Might actually be ok this season come to think of it.

That would probably be too early for some people, is for me at least :(
But weren't you running full time NW before you moved to Sprint Cup?

I was just thinking it would make more sense having TOCA ran earlier with most of the drivers being from your side of the pond.

I only did the first 2 races, I couldn't make all of the races which is partly why I moved to SC.

I can't run it earlier, i'm usually never home until gone past 6.30pm and if I am home earlier, tea's around 6pm - 7pm.

What time is TOCA in central time zone? If its too late I can't do it. I can't be racing past 2:30pm cst, this includes longer race times. Currently the lastest I have been ending is 2pm I think.

Toca starts at 2cst I believe. It's 3pm EST.
Yea so then if NW and TOCA swapped time slots our NW longer races would end at 4pm and I have work at 5pm. That leaves me no time to hang with my son & eat dinner with the family before work. He's only 16 months old, walking n talking. Its very amazing n I wouldn't miss my time with him for anything. I also have other errands to rush through before our racing.

So ideally for me I would want to keep the current time slot at 12:30pm est. Or I would be okay with moving to an hour later for 1:30pm est. 3pm is pushing too far for me. And then I would have to be forever done with GTP NASCAR. And that's not an option for me. I have been in this since its start two years ago and don't want to see it end that way for me.

Just to remind y'all, I'll be racing under D4lvy tonight.

Don't worry, it's not another guise forming part of the RBR / SGR / JGR alliance :sly:

Wont that be a bit awkward when you're using a wheel? :dopey:

There's an element of truth there. He usually plays the 'girl'.

On another subject, seems I'm bucking the trend by saying the reason I liked an earlier time slot for NW is because I liked the option of going out on a Saturday night! Call me old fashioned..... :sly:

So if somebody needed D4lvy to drive for them won't he be under Knelly?

Oh and Dave, could have worded that a bit better

Yeah, you're right. Words are dangerous things, if twitter rules applied to this thread then Knelly can call the police on me!
Just a thought but what about flexible times for NW starts? Say ranging from a prompt start time that's announced a week before the race anywhere between 5.30-6.30pm GMT... depending on the length of the race. I do appreciate that adds work for the series organisers. I know I'm suggesting something that'd work for me, I'm not denying that! Just wondered if it had been considered by anyone else?
