Welcome to the second installment of the GTP NASCAR Thunder Series. A proud series of the GTP NASCAR Association. This series was created in mind to merge all the GTP Nascar and Oval Racers into one short series to see who is the greatest of them all in short challenging races using just one-car. With ideas incorporated from Touring Cars, Nascar and IndyCar, we have come to the GTP Nascar Thunder Series. Season 2 brings you 4 Championships and 15 Rounds. But what's changed?

Race Start Procedure

All starts are rolling starts.

For the Road Courses, you must take a parade lap behind the pole car.

For the Ovals, by default we will use the double-file rolling start with no parade lap.

Changes Explained from Season 1

New Car & Tires

Through popular feedback, we have changed the car to the Trans-Cammer from the 'Vette. It was found the 'Vette was far too nimble for its own good on the Ovals in large packs of 12+ cars. The car would be far too loose in the corners and the tire compound didn't help. For the Road Courses, the car was susceptible to oversteer and the grid was although full of experience, we couldn't quite adapt to the car and the feel of it being grippy at times but sliding out of control at other times.

The Ford is 320kg heavier and even less powerful. The car has no aerodynamics by default so no 'I was running full aero to save tires' nonsense. The car has more of a stocky feel making it more adept to a stock car championship. It feels very tame but also wears out tires so much so Road Course events this season will include tire wear this season. Additionally, it understeers on losing tires on road courses which without doubt is favourable by most of Season 1's loyal.

Race Structure

Races went fairly smoothly last season but the finale was pushed back a week due to PSN being down. This season will see the exact same Race Structure as last season that made Season 1 so successful but with 1 more Road Course. Road Courses now have tire wear which brings that into play more than ever. I hope this will be a popular decision.

Registration Structure

Despite getting 26 drivers to sign-up, we did suffer turnouts of 9-10 drivers at Indianapolis and SSRX. This season I hope we can get more drivers involved as there was a spark of interest during the end of last season. So I hope drivers can be explicit if they are 'full-time' or 'part-time' can make use of 'Team' or 'Independent Reserves' on offer.

Race Start Procedure

Drivers have asked me why I don't do parade laps on ovals. On ovals, I like drivers to be seperated by more than a car length so we don't have lap 1 crashes but a bit of breathing space to loosen some nerves.

The Drivers' Championship was won by JoeOfTheFire (Juan Pablo Montoya).

The Teams' Championship was won by Juan Less Jet Dryer comprising JoeOfTheFire (Juan Pablo Montoya) and RFLX_Niop (Jamie McMurray).

Independents' Championship was won by Chqr (Denny Hamlin).

And finally the Road Championship was won by JoeOfTheFire (Juan Pablo Montoya)

Here is the Season 1 Thread

Nice! I'll get to work on some better looking Driver Profiles tomorrow with hopefully a few more sign-ups.

Additionally, I'd like to remind everyone that your worst 3 results / DNS do get dropped so don't worry if you can't make a particular raceday.

The races are very short and all drivers selected for this Championship have driven for high profile Championships so incidents should be very low this season and therefore no cautions will be used.

Defending driver/team/road course champ reporting for a severe thrashing :sly:

Guess I must've been the only one who liked the Corvette and found it fine on road courses.

I'm undecided on everything (paint, rims, number, Montoya/Jet dryer based team name etc) at the moment.

EDIT: Juan Direction? ;)

Cautions Only for Lap 1 multiple car collisions or lag collisions in the first half of the race. Will be announced through chat and mic. Tire wear is on too.

Welcome! Nice to have you onboard :)

I agree with cautions but I don't agree with ruining the race because two players in last place touched each other and pressed the E-brake. Just have cautions for the first few laps only if there is a giant wreck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbmD6r0O1K4&t=0m33s). Other than that, don't ruin the quality of the racing with unnecessary cautions.

Driver Profiles up with statistics :)

Sponsors are based on car numbers so no you can't have Durex and 69.

Yeah I think me and Chqr reached an agreement, but I'd just like to clarify that I'm using #40 this season with silver/red colors.

Yup.

Final Caution Ruling:

Cautions only for lap 1 multiple car accidents or multiple car wrecks due to lag throughout race (except for final 2 laps).

There should be no lag anyway so no cautons post lap 1.

Tire wear is on so those who are not wrecked won't feel so disadvantaged.

--

If you've got any issues on your Driver Profile, feel free to post 'em here and I'll see to it.

We've got a test session planned for next Saturday so we can iron out caution procedures.

Sterling Marlin?

I'm going Independent, also the dates in the OP are wrong as all of them are a Thursday except the last race says it's on a Wednesday

I want number 18. So ill look like a bunch of m & ms. Name of the team is KB motorsports

Rightyo. I'll wait for the responses from some of the veterans like MustangRyan, Knelly and others to see if they want to bookmark their places.
