I use an HD-DVR for capturing. Here's a few videos in my Youtube Channel (and yes, before you ask, I have unlimited upload capabilities for being a good Youtube user. I can upload up to 10 hours of video being up to 100gb is size.)

I'm gonna be posting some questions about the exact format of the license structure when I'm back from work tonight. Questions like, " Under what percentage should you have to finish in order to get 1 RFR points for an Amateur license?" "How many players should need to finish a race in order for it to activate and be eligible for RFR redemption?"

I think that we'll add that in after we get going.
We could do that at launch, but that would delay it while we get all those details worked out.
If the majority wants to do that at launch, we can go ahead and do that.
But I think that we're all eager to get this started.

Then let's do it. :D

Okie dokie.
Should it be just an ORB approved track? Or should we rate them?

I know that the FIA simply approves tracks or doesn't.
They may make a few minor adjustments.

Rate them in stars for example? No. I say just approve or not. Maybe car suggestions for what's best for the track?

Another side note, I read in the iPhone app thread that you can only search for 4 characters or more with the search function. Therefore 'ORB' cannot be searched for. Maybe a different name will help when people need to search for it.

I don't think that's a big enough issue to constitute a name change. What about WRS? Once we have a real home/base thread it won't even be an afterthought.

ORB"space"

And we could assign approved tracks to certain groups based off what cars fit best.

Also to add, after much consideration; we're going with a similar process to the one you just mentioned in approving racing series. There will only be series that are approved and series that are in the process of being approved (through coaching), so those will be ORB series pending approval/sanctioning.

This is so we don't confuse people on what Tier ratings actually mean. There will only be one level of series, and that'll be Tier one super series which will only allow specific highly licensed entrants.

Also, difficulty ratings will be back. This will take cars driveability & raceability, level of participating drivers, lap times, series length, damage & room settings, etc.
It'll be a five star system.

So yeah.

Once I get my hands on it, I can write a "review" as well as point out a few adjustments that should be made, if possible. For example I've been able to get rumble strips to show up in corners where I needed them simply by adjusting the corner tightness, etc.

I can do that too.

👍
Are you going to need any help with that?

How are these tracks going to be submitted? By a form right? No form for it yet?
I'll summon one of my tracks for it. :)

Either a GoogleForm or a PM directly to RT. If he can manually keep a record of all the tracks, he's more than welcome to use the PM method.
If that's too much, GoogleForms will be used.

If he needs help we can get a couple people to help him.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what he thinks of my kart tracks. :D

Kart tracks for Karts, or Kart tracks for Cars?

We're looking for professional style tracks here, right?

For karts.

There's only one FIA-approved kart track in the US, but it's still FIA approved. :P

StigsHero
Where is it?
(I searched google and your post was the 4th result. Lol)

New Jersey.
The kart facility is called F1 New Jersey.
It's in the New Jersey Motorsport Park.

Cool. I live about 20 miles from one in New Castle, IN that is usually considered one of the best in the country, but not FIA approved.

Back on topic I guess, where will the thread be anyways? I'm sorry if that's a stupid question but I really have no clue.

In addition to video reviewing, I'd like to be a track tester as well. You know, test, create, develop tracks to be used.
