My PM still hasn't been answered, just checking in.

We need to wait until we are 100% satisfied with this before we make a new thread, but we can still plan it out.

You know what I mean lol

On a complete side note, have any of you noticed that this thread accounts for literally 1/5 of all the posts in this subforum?

How about we all draft up an OP, and then we choose which we like best?
Obviously making a few tweaks...

Let me get some serious sleep! Then I'll be able to get some work in.

Yeah I noticed that too... pretty cool right? Over 1300 posts...

I'll put one together over the weekend. Sorry, I've been working on the series guide too much!

It'll be more of a framework than a full fledged, and standing, OP though. It'll be the basis for it all and yes, it will have a place both in the "Racing series" sub and the "Clubs and Leagues" sub as well. The racing series OP will be mainly for the drivers to discuss ORB Heats (the official weekly RFR-giving races), different series, licenses, and ask questions. The other will be mainly for series organizers to discuss and ask questions about sanctioning and just generally discuss all ORB series themselves.

Has someone asked Jordan or any of the admins about it being stickied?

That's not something I ever intended. It's also not a realistic thing to go for either with this sort of thing.

It's not gonna bring anything to the bureau either. If GTP wants to make a sanctioning body, they would; and in their own way, and if they did, that would be stickied.

I had reservations about using GTP in our logo in the first place. It's not that I don't like GTP or anything, but the name shouldn't be just tacked on to everything just because it's hosted here.
So yeah.

The homepage for ORB will have an easy to remember bitly redirect link associated with it so it really won't be tough to point anyone in our direction.

It'll be as simple as saying, " Check out our thread @ bit.ly/orbhome

This seems like a good idea. I would like to see it all working and might sign up to it as a journalist for some of the racing series.

Having a Journalist would be awesome...Kinda like recaps of the Races which happened throughout the week...

What if we organize the thread into three sections:
The OP would be an introduction, about us, and how to become a member of the team.
The second post would be "for drivers." It would contain information about licenses, reporting dirty drivers, etc.
The third post would be for series organizers.

Sounds good to me. If there is to be a thread in the Racing Series and Clubs & Leagues sections, what's the difference between the two?

I think the one in clubs and leagues is just for the exhibition races.
Also, I'm getting nothing on this OP, writers block lol.

I like this 👍

About the Classic Sports Car series we have now, might I suggest lengthening the races a tad? If the races last at least an hour, then we're good. Not sure how long they will be.

I've been busy, school just started. :(
I'll do my best to keep working.
We'll see about the new thread.
I think that we can get it up by mid October.
Let's make that our goal, October 14th.
That's our deadline. 👍

GUYS, this is urgent. I'm sorry for it being such short notice, but ORB, that's us, really need to have an Italian Grand Prix, with Ferrari F1 cars, Sunday. Lobby will be opened at 12:00 noon, qualifying will begin at 12:30 and green flag at 1:00 pm.

Now, I've never organized and hosted an event before, so don't count on me to do everything  I need some volunteers, what I need tonight, quickly because we have less than 48 hours to turn thin air into a race, is:
-Thread, complete with a nice flashy OP with all things an OP for a big race needs, so rules, date, time.
-Someone to host the lobby, someone who has a good connection, and knows the optimal settings to set the room to to maximize the connection quality and race quality, and minimize all lag. So mics off, etc.
-People to race  That's what I'll try to do between tonight and Sunday.
-A camera car, which I hope I can also take care of as well.

This will surely be the thing that makes ORB takeoff, that is, if things go well. I will also prize the winner with a level 24 ticket for their good work.

Full race distance, with 30 minute qualifying session before, no tyre restrictions, heavy damage, penalties off, grip reduction on real, weather change activated, with NO lobby resets between the beginning of qualifying and the race. As for driving aids, only ABS will be allowed. I do this to cancel out the advantage anyone would gain from running traction control if it gets wet, as opposed to someone without it.

So, whose with me? PM me.

I don't know if Wardez is down with us directly supporting events yet, but I'll the others hand down judgement there. As it is Friday, I have time to check in.

I don't see why he wouldn't be. We've already got our first series debuting tomorrow, which seems to be going well, so this would really give us another big bump that will get us known and succesful. It could only be good.

I didn't say I had a problem with it, I just can't speak for everyone, obviously.

Tip of the Day: Things that are thrown together at the last minute in haste rarely have good results. 👍
