GTP United Sports Car Championship | Season 6 | Series Finished!Finished

I tested the Delta wings out this morning, on stage 3 turbo with both cars, and both at 361 hp. With equal power the 2012 has 704 PP while the 2013 is at 702 PP. The 2012 was around 0.5 sec per lap faster with both set on 361 hp, I couldn't determine if it was because it is lighter that the 2013 or if it had more torque due to running a greater % of power on the turbo (both stage 3 remember).

To equal them out I dont imagine it would take much of a reduction in power for the 2012, just a nudge of maybe 5 hp. I also think the 2013 is a lot more stable in general, at first I thought the two chassis were going to be identical but they are a tad bit different. Corner and straightaway speeds are all within 1 mph of each other, but the feel is definitely different.

People might want to change Delta wings for different tracks as they each have their strengths and weaknesses, so I suggest deciding on that allowance or not.

I now have over 5,000,000 credits but I still haven't brought my Deltawing yet for some reason .

Well if we look at the real United Sports car series they have the LMP2 machines and the DPs which are two different cars. I would say the two Delta wings we have are far closer in performance than anything in the real series. I mean, If I can drive for 90 minutes and get within 0.6 sec in both cars they can certainly run together.

I guess that is true but I don't think switching Deltawings should be allowed.

I just tested the 2013 Deltawing, it suffers from understeer on the Oval section and is pretty stable every where else (except for the occasional slip ups).

I've tried the Audi at 430 bhp and 1250 kg, was getting 1:49's at Daytona, although a 1:47 sounds familiar. I'm not sure what it is, but the car seems to understeer on the high speed corners when I'm on the gas.

1:47's is what I've been getting. But I'm looking at the specs and I'm thinking my bhp is slightly higher. Most of my testing is also done offline with no tire wear. So that could be the reason for the faster time.

Another snow day for me. I'll be getting on in a little bit to test for Daytona. Need to see what the tire/ fuel situation will be. I have a feeling that my setup is only good for hot lapping. :(

Edit:

We're good here. Just hit a 1:49 in practice.

Its weird though. In the dealer the SLS says 493 Max Power. But when I buy it and get into it it jumps to 570 bhp right off the bat. No oil change or anything. I hate messing with the power limiter. :(

I've been getting 1:49's with the power at 440 bhp too. I have a setup on the car that means I am still only relying on the balance of the car and not the aero. I've also fixed the high speed understeer and the movement around the Bus Stop too it seems... it was an anti-roll issue.

I noticed that when I bought the SLS GT3 too. Was like "Daf** is this?"

On my first proper lap with the Deltawing, I got a 1.44. I thinking 1.41 is the proper P time :P

Which car and on what power are you using? Were doing the 2013 car with its standard 361 hp I believe, unless polar has changed the specs?

How were the tyres for you on the testing lobby we had? My fronts were running down a bit more than the rears. I would have expected the rears to go off a bit since they had the power going to them.

I'm sure when I had a little run of the DeltaWing I did 31s. Not sure though, I know it was that or 33s.

It might be just a tad difficult to race part-time, with my mum trying her best to kick me out. Might end up missing the preseason race guys, just as well I didn't fully commit to this...

I'll give guys who haven't done a tyre wear check a little heads up though, Pretty sure the tyres would last about 2 race lengths, but not the fuel.

Also, I would've expected this, but.... Polar, WHERE is preseason race 1 being held? There's no indication of that in the OP, and I am pretty sure other lazy people (like myself) haven't checked back through the thread. Prying eyes need that info on the OP or in the title.

I think it's 33's for you. Last time I was testing, my best time was a 1:34 in arcade mode.

Daytona is this weekend???

I was running at 345 bhp :P. But I don't think that changes a whole lot :indiff:.

Has anyone tested out the "pit" bug? For those that dont know, you start out the race on whatever set of tires. Go to pit, change tires, the car will handle worse coming out of the pits with fresh tires.

This was a bug from early on. Hopefully the latest patch fixed it.

I always found it to make your car easier to control... and no, I haven't tested it.

Some cars it handles better. That bug still exists.
