Been Wham free for a few days now. However, I can't expect Radio 1 to stay clean for the month.

I was listening earlier, Greg James was debating with Chris Smith about whether to play another Christmas song. They had played one already (before I started driving), but should they play another? It was one they had played a couple of years before but still they did not say which one.

Now, normally I would have smashed the radio to pieces before I had heard this entire exchange. However being whammed already makes you do things. Risky things. I have reached the russian roulette stage.

I survived the radio.

I got whammed watching TV when I got home.

Twice.

Watching recorded shows.

My friend was complaining to me about the Christmas music at his work, and mentioned "that one annoying song that goes 'Last Christmas..'"

Well, I'm never gonna swing by the store where he works again for the rest of the year.

WORLD MUSIC MASTER RACE. All hail Gilles Peterson!

...but yeah, it's infinitely better for music.

I also got whammed again on YT. Dammit, Keith...

Yeah the hosts are crap but the music is really great. Except maybe Lauren Laverne.

Well I may have been out for a month, but I haven't been Whammed! since. I'm gonna try to do my best to stay Wham!-free for all of December. It's gonna be difficult, but I'm up for it.

Naveek Darkroom almost got me. Almost. Thank God for YouTube ads...

I fear death by Wham is inevitable for me as I'm being put through to Aberdeen again this weekend for another impromptu vacation.

I was given a frightening reminder from Taylor Swift at work.

It's December.

I'm expecting to get cover Whammed again this year. Whether it's Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift or whoever. I don't care as long as it's a cover.

I've been covered whammed already. But not officially whamed! But things are looking bad for me. I'm under constant threat now from my Art Teacher, Bus Driver, local Walmart, even church! I didn't think it would be this hard!:scared:

My poor earbuds blasting BlackGryp0n all the time.

You know.... You don't have to tell people you play this right?

Finally got cover Whammed by Taylor Swift for the first time ever. Scott Mills spared me the full version.

Whose cover was it?

I think the advice not to tell anyone is very wise.

However,
I'm not going to make it, there'll no doubt be TV on during breaks at work & I can't possibly avoid all the pubs.
We took a break at 1800 tonight & I've always got a few people trained that we should always have The Simpsons on the TV whenever possible. As such, Channel 4 was duly tuned in.

Having seen the Carphone Warehouse advert during The Simpsons last week (muted), I've taken a gamble & opened my mouth. I said we should mute the adverts & couldn't really avoid saying why.

The added risk of letting people know about this thing of ours is probably offset by the reduction in risk that comes with having some mute button action.

If my colleagues team up to avoid Wham! together & don't attack me with it then it could work out in my favour.
There's such a variety of mischievous people here though that I can't trust many of them with the knowledge.
Some of them are bound to be watching plenty of TV in the next few weeks too so I won't manage to get all of the adverts muted & I'm probably already doomed.

I went out to the shop anyway & missed most of the episode.

When they heard about this game, everyone also lost "the game".

Dodged a bullet on television just a moment ago. "Here to perform her rendition of the Wham! Classic, here's Carly Rae Jepsen."

Glad Wham! didn't reunite and perform the real thing.

More 'Christmas Music' at work, but nothing close to cover (yet), though I am hopeful to hear 'Blue Christmas' by Elvis Presley once again. :D

Since I got my Learners permit, every time my Ma wants to go to Walmart, I have to drive her. And since she doesn't like me waiting in the car by myself, I'm forced to come in with her. Thank the Walmart Gods that their radio wasn't on.

Oh, and by the way...

I've heard in this thread that for some reason, the original version of Last Christmas doesn't play in Walmarts. So you might be safe.

If I recall, it was due to a dispute (Can't recall if it was Wal-Mart vs the group themselves or the company that produced the song) that ended up causing that.
