^First link in signature is Wham. I opened it on Android and it showed "Wham! - Last Christmas" on the Android title bar. Closed it before it even loaded. (thank god for slow phones)

Hardcore seems pointless considering it hardly gets airplay in ANY form most of the year until the last three months of the year.

Or unless you're one of the wackjobs to listen to Christmas music during the North American summer time (I'm looking at you Christmas in July or Pandora/dedicated radio stations).

So I casually turned the radio on the TV like I do every morning and have been successfully winning this Russian roulette this whole time. Not today though. Guess what the very first song was? It's still playing as I'm typing this and I can say I'm thoroughly enjoying it. =3

@Daniel

Edit: skipped through 2 channels and George is playing again!

Just heard a Radio 1 Live Lounge cover of Last Christmas by Slaves. Alternative of what? Hearing a Kentish bloke shouting the instrumental is quite an experience.

I'll post a video when they upload it.

GTP vs Wham is the casual version of the game - avoid the song in November and December and you're good. The hardcore version is avoiding it throughout the entire year.

The standard version starts with the beginning of the advent season (the earliest date I can remember is November 27th) and ends when Christmas is over (December 24-26th, depending on the country you live in). As I said the last years, the song is called "Last Christmas" and not "Last/This Year". We play the hardcore version, because getting whammed outside the Christmas time is not really winning.

Was whammed for a 5th time at work this morning. I hate this game.

Not sure what you are talking about...

I had one hell of a near miss today.

Coming out one of the classrooms, I heard that ever so distinctive intro and I froze.

My thoughts at the time went like this:

Classrooms done, wait what's that sound?
OH DEAR GOD ITS LAST CHRISTMAS!! :scared::scared:
I was braced for the Whamming and then....

I've never been so glad to hear Taylor Swifts voice. :lol::P

I'm still in this, just 3 more school days to go, plus a funeral too ( cruel twist of fate if I get Whammed there.:nervous: ).

I'm confused, Taylor's intro sounds nothing like Wham!'s version.
Wham! has that distinctive 'funky' 80's synthesizer and Taylor has bells and a guitar and the intro isn't even the same tune.

Got re-Whammed twice at the same bar, with the same friend, listening to the same radio station and well, Hello playing again...
Deja-Wham!

I think my mistake was not listening to Wham before I signed up to remind myself what the intro sounded like. :dunce:

Plus previous near misses had me slightly on edge as well, but Taylor was definitely singing Last Christmas so I know I'm not Whammed, just cover-whammed. :)

How does one get "Re-whammed"? That would imply that you somehow restarted just to get whammed again :lol:

I'm currently at 19 on the Wham! count.

It's been a tough one this year.

🤬, just like last year whammed by some 🤬 radio commercial for some 🤬 Christmas cd, again only the "Last Christmas" part, couldn't get out of the car as I was driving 90 km/h.
In hindsight that still might have been a better option.

@Daniel

Edit: Only 2 days short of beating my "record" last year. :indiff:

So I never had a chance to make it, even if I had subscribed a bit later, right before the deadline.

Germany still is infected by the forbidden song. Dammit.
