Got done today in the grocery shop.

I've done so well to avoid all Christmas carols save Chuck Berrys Run Run Rudolph to. :(

Looks like I'm out as well.

To nothing less of an amateur mistake than a car radio of all things.

Pro tip: If you use someone else's car, don't assume that they're decent enough not to leave the Christmas station on resulting in an instant Whamming after you put a key in the ignition.

Just for clarification, Covers don't count, but what about the original song with the vocal track removed( Karaoke version)?

I ask because I just heard the song but no vocals from the George Michael, but from the children who sang it.

Any part of the (original) song though. The instrumental parts are part of the song.
Let @Daniel call it. I see it as it's not the original song, just the original instrumental part. Plus, instrumental karaoke versions aren't exactly the same as the originals.

scrolling down Facebook as I do often then suddenly a ghastly image appeared. Someone shared the song. Luckily all tracks are muted on my FB unless I change volume manually:sly: I'm still in it.

I told my dad about the game (hes not tech savy enough to wham me) and he says he has been got 3 times so far by the radio(to be fair he could wham me by bringing the radio... oh:censored:).

Whatever verdict @Daniel comes to regarding the karaoke version which i'll accept, it nearly didn't matter anyway as one of the teachers had a christmas playlist setup in their classroom and Wham was the 3rd song in it. :scared:

The playlist had just started as I entered the classroom to clean the tables so acting on the assumption that the Karaoke version didn't count, I blitzed the tables in record time before Wham could make damn sure I was gonna be out today. :D

Again, whatever the verdict, I'll accept it without dispute. 👍

I reckon it counts.

But it's not the original song with George on it. So technically, it shouldn't count.

The main issue here is where to draw the line between what's 'original' and what's not.

Does karaoke count if it's just the original song with the vocals taken out (i.e. Jon Sudano's video)? Does a mash-up count if it's just the original song with another played on top (Whamnam style)? Does it count if the stars align and George and Michael announce a comeback tour and play the song live?

For the sake of being lenient, I'll let the instrumental version pass. However if you hear the song out in public, use your best judgement in deciding whether you've been whammed or not. :P

If I heard a karaoke version & believed the instrumentals to be recorded by Wham! I would consider myself whammed. Obviously it's just a bit of fun though so I understand your leniency. :)

Thank you @Daniel 👍

But knowing my luck as of late, I probably used the last of it tonight and tomorrow is both the last working day for me this year and both a morning shift and a late shift. :scared:

"Once more unto the breach dear friends." :P

I would have done the same thing, but at the end of the day this is a silly game that we're playing. Not a legal binding contract. :P

I think.

Odd that you asked that my application be accompanied with a vial of blood, then. I don't have to be concerned with establishing an alibi, do I?

Or worse yet, there aren't going to be 2 of me running around, are there?

I was in Art Class today and my teacher started playing Christmas Music, I went with it but in the back of my mind I was waiting for it. Then I heard a chime that I knew, But it was a girl singing. So out of hearing it I sang it while shouting so I could have some fun but knowing it wouldn't last long and my days are coming to a close.....

Day 49. Currently no Christmas WHAM! so far. Went shopping today and no christmas music played.

Currently safe. 12 days to go.

@Daniel
Survived:
Ice skating,
Christmas shopping,
Multiple pub visits (which were playing Christmas music)
Flatmate's Christmas playlist...
Girlfriend's snapchat

Unfortunately... got cocky, tonight is my last night in London so I went with the girlfriend to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park... George was waiting for me in the "Bavarian" pub... 🤬

:grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

In a rather lackluster an anti-climatic fashion I am officially out. Making it through last year I felt that I could make it through this year. Well last year I finally opened Jordan's message in February.

I have a feeling my lovely wife called into a radio station plotting the perfect moment when she drove me to work this morning. The moment she turned on the car there it was playing on the radio... it took a moment for it to register in my mind because I have not heard this song since last February.

Totally Whammed in the kisser this morning.

Sing along everybody :

Last February, you heard the song.
For the rest of the year what could go wrong?
This day, you got Whammed anyway.
I hope it was by someone special.

I kinda feel envious for you lot who have been whammed. You don't have to spend every minute hopping into this site worried about what @Jordan might do to Wham you :(.

It's not all good. Yes I'm no longer worried about shopping trips or car radio or TV, however it does mean I have had to hear the song a number of times. The first time is the worst for realising you are out, but hearing that song is never going to be pleasant... And should I have to hear it from GTPlanet as well, it's just another chance to hate on George Michael just a little bit more!

Might have to make a music video using those new lyrics :-)

Nearly fell for a trap, barely escaping because my internet suddenly decided to stop (forcing the video to never play) and I went away relieved. I've never been happier for crappy internet.
