I would think we can extend to 10 laps if we don't push as hard in the high speed corners where the car tends to push. If not there's always the option of four stints 8/7/8/7 although it's hard to imagine making up the thirty seconds lost that way.

Trying to pass anyone close to your speed is going to be tricky. It may make for some interesting short pitting strategies to leap frog. Barring a mistake the only real place to make a clean pass is the long front straight, but it requires a good jump on the exit which is hard in dirty air.

I was there practicing, but got the boot for the Saturday races. I managed to run about 15 laps and have to break for lunch anyway. I managed a 1'47.099 without any further setup tweaks so 1'46 is in sight. In traffic/practice races yesterday I had a hard time seeing any 1'47 unless I was in the lead -- so quali is going to be important!

I hope to get a few hours later tonight, maybe 9pm PT and on. No hope of 1:47's at the moment...an hour last night with the guys and I barely made 1:48.9 at the end, with Dion's (Small_Fryz) setup. 👍 He's almost 3sec faster with it.

You still using CSL's stable tune, Tim?

Last practise, steady run, but nowhere near those times, happy running 1.50.xxx
Have to try some different setups, as i need to do something about that tyre wear.

Jumping on shortly to "float in a most peculiar way", so as to hopefully tame the tire wear. :dopey:

Ooh, I loved this one when we ran it for the WRS... I'm in, time permitting. 👍 Nice one fellas.

Guys the maintenance scheduled for Wednesday has been extended for 12 hours according to the news section in the game, cutting into our EU race .

Are you sure Mohit?

I see it's scheduled Wed morning.

Begin: 04/04/2012 07.00 CEST (GMT +2)
End: 04/04/2012 09.00 CEST (GMT +2)

EDIT:
My last news bulletin is from 30th March.

It's over at 3AM EST, not 3 pm Guys, so we are looking good 👍

Gran-Turismo.com
The online service of Gran Turismo 5 will undergo maintenance during the following hours:

Start: 04/04/2012 01:00 EDT
Finish: 04/04/2012 03:00 EDT

It may affect the Tuesday practice session for the US west coast drivers though.

Yesterday after the races and after GVS practise me and Pekka did a 75 lap bump draft race at Daytona Speedway to break in the car.
The kilometer counter or whatever on the car says 300 km but I'm still at 555 BHP and the oil is not dirty. Anyone knows what's going on?

Did you install engine upgrade 3 Wes?

Did you install engine upgrade 3 Wes?
Yes, I did. It's the same for me and Pekka. We were talking about it after the race and he said something but I don't really remember.:P

Jon, very generous.:D

That's weird.
Sounds like you didn't get break in credit :odd:

You know the only thing that could lower the HP is the engine power limiter so I'm assuming it's at 100%.

Maybe this car doesn't like Daytona?

Smileys have been hacked

Right, I'll try another track.

I don't see you on the registration list? Hope you can make it as the EU race is shaping up to be a "barn burner". Would be fun to get 14+ on this track.

Based on the 2 player race with Wesley , I'd say the online break in - does not work..

Might need to test with fuel consumption / tyre wear on too , just to be sure.

You need fuel consumption / tire wear to break in and online race break in definitely works. That's how I broke in this car.

I'm going to have to pull out of this event. Upshift (right) paddle is malfunctioning and just won't work consistently. It started last night in the final laps of a practice race and this morning it's horrible. Ever other shift is a double shift or a skipped shift. I tried to map a button to up shift, but after 3-4 laps my wrist hurt. There's just no button in a proper position to make work without discomfort.

I'm breaking my car exclusively online, doing races at GVS with 3-4 other people, and its working.

I can't believe you started a thread about April Fools smileys

I have a feeling yourself and Wes are pulling one as well...like you two don't know how to break in a car...

From this thread.
Changed in red.

You may not like my gearing but key is to use 1 gear higher than what you think you should use. I never use 1st gear; I use 3rd gear through the first corner and the corner out of the second tunnel. It may feel slow but laptimes don't lie. And it also helps with tyres wear.
