lol, I ran my WRS qualifier without practice, maybe that explain. I wanted to be allowed to race online with my GTP account very quick so i had no time for practice.

And i don't know how does work the handicap here anyway...

So I'm now in D3 but i'd like to know if its possible to level up.

You can level up by running the weekly time trials and outperforming your handicap. I feel bad for the other D3 guys when you do. It takes a while to level up as the qualifier has a higher weight, but the more you run under your handicap the faster it will move up.

It's definitely more time efficient to just invest more time in the qualifier to begin with, but too late for that now. You're stuck with the hard way... I started out D3 silver myself, but was nowhere near as fast as you are... In fact I'm still not.

Do you speak about this?

Exactly. There is a time trial each week. If you look at the results thread in that forum you'll see how drivers did versus their handicap last week.

Question: Did you run the enduro qualifier with ABS 0 tonight?

nah, i had abs at 1.

I like to drive with abs 0 sometimes on GT500 and stock street cars, stock tires (usually SH).
This is why i did it on this Jaguar tonight.
btw, my 56.7 was with abs 0 and 56.4 with abs 1. Thats close ;)

Just registered for the second support race using the Lmp car, second race works out better for us folks in new Zealand.

Still need to friend the 3d3 people and have heaps of practicing to to.

Excited, scared, excited! This should be a thrill!

Welcome!

The only thing you need to complete as a first time driver here is this.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B with subject line "3D3 Racing" from your GTP_tag ID.
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.
Once you filled in the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form an admin has to do some manual stuff and then you will apear in the table(s) found in the OP's.

Got some times now. Not a perfect lap by any measure but actually more concerned about consistency. Finding that the course has lots of bends to wipe out on easily and the Lmp car isn't exactly forgiving ;)

Good time for just starting practice mef. Welcome aboard, glad you could join in on the wonderful world of WRS this way as well.

Judging by the cut of your jib there, I'd say you're a D2 Gold at least.

Well, thanks! I qualified D3 gold and I did put the practice in at the time. But I don't care much what division I'm in. Just don't want to screw up my own race or somebody else's on the day. I bet consitency wins over being a faster in quali.. Hope it will be a fun event with minimum of incidents.

Do you have any recommendations about practicing enduro? I have never done 50 laps in one go, let alone with real people. I am hoping that the 3d3 lobbies will allow this sort of practice once I am on the friend list. Correct?

Oh lol. GT5 just gave me a Mitsubishi Mirage '78 (77 hp) as a present for my bday.
Slight step down from the 787b. Thanks Gt5 ;)

Welcome

From tomorrow the 3D3 lounge will be dedicated to practicing for the enduro. We run practice laps and sometimes even short races so you get used to a race situation with multi-class cars on track.

Personal recommendations? Practice practice practice. After qualifying is over find a good tune for the race so you're not fighting the car for 2.4 hours. See what tire wear is like and come up with a pit strategy. And get some more practice :)

Thanks speedy, I have done both now

👍 Added you with the manual stuff. You should show up in the next picture update of the Registration table.
Just one question out of curiosity. Are you German living in New Zealand?
You filled in Germany in the 3D3 registration Database form but your country beneath your avatar says New Zealand.
You'll be racing under the German flag. Of course, it could be that's what you want. :)

We have some other races on wednesday and some unofficial races on Saturdays. All to be found here in the WRS-Online Events Sub Forum.

Note:
The Saturday unofficials drop out on the weekend of the 2.4 endurance to make place for the Support races, where you registered for the second one.

Other than that, if you go into one of the respective lounges for practice, you can post it in here so maybe some more people may join you.

Welcome mef.

I think what Speedy was trying to say above is that you have not yet registered for the 2.4 hour enduro on Sunday. You've only registered for the Saturday support races which are about an hour in length. There are two separate registrations to fill out. You are not required to register for the enduro, of course, just pointing that out in case you missed it.

Note that you are encouraged to post your practice time and any splits/notes to our Practice Leaderboard shown on page 1 (post 5) of this thread. Click on the "Submit Here" button under the leaderboard on that post to submit your time. You can resubmit as you set new fast laps each day and/or session.

Note that some drivers have asked to view the splits and other data requested (but optional) from the practice log form. You can view the entire google document using this link: 3D3 Racing Laguna Enduro Practice Log

No I wasn't Tim. :D :P

Sorry Speedy, didn't mean to put words in your mouth (or in your post)... I just didn't understand your post. :dunce:

Thing is mef asked about how to prepare for the enduro, but he's not registered for it so wanted to make sure it was clear what he signed up for.

No harm done Tim. :)
This thread has become hard to keep up with lately. :D:tup:

After another 2hr stint I finnaly got into the 1,16s, and ran steady 1,17s for a good few laps so hopefully found my rhythem.

I would like to join but I dont know if i will be avalible at the time of the race. I also am confused by how to sign up and in what order.

This post should explain it. It lays it out step by step. Start at the bold "if you have not submitted the registry qualifier" part.

The weekly races are over and the main lounge is setup for Laguna and some of the guys stuck around to continue driving.

👍 Are you German living in New Zealand?

That's exactly what I am :)

Wow, I am so impressed with how much support you guys put into this event. Thanks so much.

I did not register for the Enduro event on purpose. I think it's Monday 8am New Zealand time, so I'm at work.

I was referring to the 1hr support race when I said 'enduro'. Sorry guys, 1 hour is super long for me :)

My 3d3 friends are offline. These are hosting the practice lounges, am I right? What gmt time are these open usually?

The practice lounges are dummy accounts made by 3D3 admins and are "open" all the time.

Don't have those added?

Just took a look at the practice board times, seems I need a lot more practice.:nervous:

This is going to be a busy week for me in sim racing. It's the final week of the twelve week season in iRacing. I'm competing in four different time trial events with four different cars. I'll probably jinx myself for mentioning this but I'm leading all four of them in my division with just a few days to go.:nervous:

I contribute most of this from racing you guys here at the planet in the WRS events. Competing against all of you has really improved my driving skills over the last year.

Wish me luck guys (I'll need some).

Next week I'll get back to practicing for the Enduro and join in on the online practice sessions.

See you then.:)

I have but they are offline. How can I connect to their lunges if they are offline?
