Good to see you Lennon. :) You and I raced a few months back when I first got the game. We spent a few races on the Daytona Oval together. I've got you on my "xTaggerx" friends list from then but I'm going to send you an invite now from "GTP_xTAGGERx". Looking forward to competing with you. đź‘Ť

See ya on the track , thanks đź‘Ť

thanks for the times i'll try them tonight and see how i get on, i prefer playing in pro mode i think if u start on hardest settings you get used to it quicker thats my theory,oh and def agree with u about leaving the ego's out of division 5

My theory is that I'm a middle-aged engineer, not a race car driver. I'm never going to be a race car driver. I'll never turn laps at Suzuka or any other track. I play GT to have fun and to relax, not to challenge myself. My life is full enough of challenges. I enjoy driving with standard physics more than pro. After many hours of driving on pro I just never came to enjoy the "driving on ice" feeling of it. I honestly don't know if I'll ever drive a pro physics race again. Maybe if the full GT5 requires it.

yes i see your point but guess i just got used to it . as for never bein race driver you should go to track days ii's great fun i often go to a track with my ep3 type r at raf marham

I've thought about tracking my S2000. Maybe some day I will when I get my finances in better shape. Right now I just can't justify wearing out my tires and brakes and clutch any faster than I already do.

My feelings exactly, although I do race in pro, sometimes its more like work than fun.:dunce:

Pro events can be a little bit more rough , but the degree of punters you encounter are less , because as we are all aware of , most punters are not good racers and putting them into a pro event they usually do not fair to well against the well seasoned . They like to hang out in the intermediate and beginner events where they can act like the bullies on the block and play the role of intimidators to the newbies , which to me sends a bad message , they see this and they think that is how you survive online , by being an idiot. I have been in races with known punters and have seen them bully around the lesser experienced , after seeing incidents , I have messaged the punted one and told them to hang in there , that you will soon come to realize there are good clean racers out there , and got a kind reply of "thank you" . The thing about racing "known punters" is ,as an experienced driver you can usally out gun them by using on track smarts and experience.

I had it on Fuji 800 last night... I started to anticipate the dirty tricks of the punters... and dodge them left and right.. puts such a big smile on your face when, in the heat of a battle, you outsmart them and see them flying into the wall in your rearview mirror. On the str8s I would simply pull over to the right side of the track at my braking points, brake, let them fly by and get back on my line and if done correctly you wont lose any speed or anything like that.... I avoided many crashes like this and gave those boys a HARD time... I had a heated battle with Suolo[IT] in a GTLM as well, also a punter... tried EVERYTHING to get in front of me... but didnt work :)

I just had a race with a black EVO X at suzuka. Blocked me , punted me the first rounds. Then I had enough and just anticipate has upcoming actions.
Made it look like I was passing on the left at the straight but did it on his rightside. I won the race and thought well, maybe I can change his behaviour so PMed him. All I got back was "shut up NOB " so i kindly answered with "who's the NOB then, I won the race, you loose..."
So far no response back :)
But I got to test that tactic you use about the braking points.
It's getting better out there... nicht immer.. aber immer ofter :)

Hello,
I got my new ps3 (covered under warranty).
So i will be back in action feel free to add my psn GTP_bbcnascar2.
Looking forward to see what changes I've missed and can't wait to race you guys.

Hi all, nice to meet you all :)

Im Chris, I live in Leeds UK & 28 year old.

I set my time using the sixaxis but since bought a G25, also ive not been able to get online with my ps3 for around 7 month, that all changes tomorrow when my new wireless connection gets set up, so ill be seeing you out on the tarmac pretty soon :)

So far I find most of the PRO challenges initiatied here at GT4 too difficult and they make me enjoy Prologue less and less by the week. I wonder if that is the same for some of you Div5 guys? It could also be that I use the sixaxis and don't have the wheel making it even more difficult to keep a car between the lines.

If so we might set up some easier races for ourselves using STD physics to keep the fun in the game up?

Have you tried reducing steering angel on your tunes??? I heard NLxArosa say that before... if its to twitchy you should lower the steering angle to stop the twitchines... maybe a solution... :)

Thanks, will try that out right away in the WRS 02 combo đź‘Ť

You have to understand that to the GT faithful pro physics isn't an option. It's the religion. If you mention that you enjoy driving standard physics the reaction is immediate and predictable. One or more of the faithful will immediately try to convert you. Not only are they compelled to play pro themselves but they must assure that ALL play on pro. Some of them have even damanded that PD remove the standard option. It is an ABOMINATION! An affront to all that is holy and must not be tolerated!

GT is a game. It's supposed to be fun. I don't enjoy playing pro. I have more fun driving standard, and I'M NOT ASHAMED!!!

No one is trying to convert you... Some people have more fun in STD, some have more fun in PRO, except some people in PRO are kind of ignorant and think everyone should play it... I am not one of those that disses STD drivers... If thats what you prefer then thats your deal... and I agree that they should do some STD events for those that enjoy playing that mode... I do understand what youre getting at though with the "I ONLY PLAY PRO" reaction.... and them implying only serious and good players play STD... and I think I can be guilty of that when I first joined here, but it is never my intention to put down another person because they play STD...

I just accept that I am not as good as others in pro, but these are still fun to me. For me it is about the competition. Being in Div 5 is actually a bit refreshing for me as I can beat all my friends in GT. I knew I couldn't be that great so this has put me in my place among other die hards, and I'd rather have that be a truthful representation than make it easier for me, because at the end of the day I know that if everyone did a standard event I would likely still be in a similar ranking.

My problem with the qualifier is that I had used the car once before and I have never been good at Suzuka. I was hoping to prove myself on the first event but ran out of time due to real-life issues.

Not that I will refuse to race a standard event. I have done it on a few online events when I wanted to take my GTI online and none of teh pro events were designed tio allow a GTI to compete.

I'm more comfortable in std as I've stated, but I had to try the No Mercy match because my curiousity got the best of me.

I tried several cars and the only one I could keep on the track for 5 laps was the Evo X Tuned. It's so stable it's almost like driving std. But it's not the fastest car in the event for sure.

I'd say I did OK at best, even though I won the first race. I don't know why I won it, cause I was running 3rd out of 6 cars about 12 seconds behind at the last marker. But both of the cars in front of me stopped. I have no idea why. Maybe they felt sorry for me.

2nd race I put a guy in the gravel at Degnar so I stopped until he got out. So I was 20 seconds back in 5th. Then I put myself in the gravel and I was 30 seconds behind. I made up time on the leader the last 2 laps and was running 28 seconds back at the final marker. Just got through the chicane when time expired.

3rd race I was running 4th about 3 seconds back and the 3rd guy went offroad. Then the leader and the 2nd place guy got together and one of them went off. So I was 2nd place 8 seconds behind. I made up a second to finish 7 seconds down.

Not a bad first try at the NM race. It wasn't nearly as frustrating as trying to so S10 on pro. That one just makes me pull my hair out.

Biggest plus about the No Mercy event is that there's no RBE... I hope in the future they do no RBE events with race tires... I'm so much better on race tires :sly:
