Only 52 submissions in total? Would be interesting to know why so many people decided not too submit. Was it too hard? Didn't like the event? Not enough time?
I for one found this a very hard one, almost had me throwing the PS3 out the window, until I decided that I was going to do it relaxed, after which I almost immediately got a clean lap. Not a fast one, but at least it was nice and clean.
Too difficult in the fact the your controlled by the randomness of the AI.
I raced again this morning with some competitive-ish times, but almost imperceptible touches from the AI cars who drift into my racing line would have me disqualified. Sure I could hang back and pass the cars when there is plenty of room, which straight away puts me 2, 3 seconds of a lap time off what I am capable of given an 'untouched' run.
I didn't mind the event, the car and course are fun to drive, I had plenty of time... I attempted this well over 100 times I would imagine. but there only so many restarts after 3 corners that i want to do.
I think the fact that so few submitted speaks volumes about the nature of this event.
And at the end of the day, why bother ? ONE driver from each medal class goes through. So you may be a D1G driver, who came second fastest in D1, but faster than everyone else, but you still lose, and a guy who who may have a time 5, 10 seconds slower than you goes through to challenge.
So the chances of advancing past this one race are minimal at best, and suddenly 90% of the drivers have no involvement in the following events.
Very well done to the drivers who did the times, and some very fast ones there too. But the logic and reasoning behind this challenge eludes me.
