Here we go my submission, surprised that i qualified. :)
If anyone can check that i uploaded it correctly that would be much appreciated. Compressing (ie zipping file i have no problem with), just not sure if i am attaching file correctly to send here.
As you may note my GTP id does not show on replay, i've PM'd SPHINX and asked him about this and he has said it is ok.
Thanks to all who have put their time into making this event happen.👍
Cheers gundalini.....GTP_RB26DETT

I just want to stress that I will only allow non GTP_Tagged replays for this event. This rule will be strictly adhered to in all future events. 👍

I don't think you did it correct, when I extract it it just gives me a single 202kb file

OK thanks i will try again although i was sure i had done it correctly..Grrrr i use computers everyday at work, but to be honest i had never been on the internet until GTP5....

@ Sphinx thanks for a bit of benefit of doubt 👍

I wanted to check the replay from "GTP_xTaggerx", but when in copied it to my ps3 it keeps saying that there's no replay data found ...

I assume that the replay from "GTP_joeninety" is dirty, 4 wheels off track:

Sorry guys! Did not mean to post a dirty time. Will pay closer attention to the replays next time - damn it.
As a long shot - what if I busted a good time in the spec III run? could I get back in
or once your out - your out!?
Was really starting to like this event - good luck to all the other qualifiers

I'm sure I read that even if you fail to qualify or get disqualified in spec 2 that you can try again in spec 3 :)

After re-attaching the zip file, I back-checked my attachment and the replay showed up fine on my ps3. I did something wrong the first time with the zip file. It should be ok now.

Hard luck there Joe.

You still have spec III to go at. Just make sure your runs are cleans. Your doing alright on spec III leaderboard so keep on going with the good times. 👍

Ok another try to submit my replay.

It works fine, but it appears to be a Spec III replay

Edit;

My mistake, it's SpecII. I'll verify it now.

Here is my lap time. I deleted the icon0.png file to shrink it down so if anyone copies this back to the ps3 to view it please add the icon0.png file from another replay. If it still doesnt work I will upload the replay with the png file included

Cheers
John

Kindly Verified as clean by Manuelos.

gundalini,
Your run clearly shows an AI touch just before T1 on lap two. I have given your run a red flag and has therefore been DQ'd (disqualified).

Edit: Also DQ'd from Spec II:

Replay from "GTP_J-PaP" is clean:tup:

And I still can't view the replay from "GTP_xTaggerx"
I copy the replay to my ps3, no problem there, but when I try to view the replay in gt5p it say's "no replay data found"

Thanks for trying again Manuelos. I'll try again at lunch or tonight after work to get this right. I zipped the PS3 folder using Winrar. What's strange is that when I tried downloading other replays posted here I could not view them with my PS3. But, I could view mine when I back-checked own. Very odd.

I think you have it right. Your replay will be NTSC and won't be viewable using a PAL version. I'll check it for you tonight.

Thanks Sphinx. I've got another zip of the file on standby. I'll keep an eye on this thread and post it if the current file isn't working.

I have a question about the DQ of Joe. How is that 4 wheels off track? I thought it was to a certain extent I.E. grass and cutting too much curb. That should not be DQ'd. If that picture is why he is DQ'd.

Quote from Sphinx's thread:Where white and yellow lines are placed along the edge of the track determine the boundry of the track. There are however some areas where this is not the case, therefore, please use common sense to determine the boundary in these areas.

Where are these "not the case" lines? I really thought the only line where it's not the case is the exit of T2. I know this track incredibly well and if that's not it, then I have no clue. Please help on this. I don't see why actual races like the 24 hour race at Daytona, they rule that as in bounds. i understand where and when it's unexceptionable, like cutting corners to pick up time but, I don't think DQ'ing Joe is the right thing to do.

The line Joe has taken there can actually add to your exit speed from the tight right hander. I know these things are harsh, but rules state 2 wheels on track at all time. Sorry but he has to go. Everybody including myself have managed to keep within that particular line.

@ Joe, I am not been nasty here Joe. I am just clarifying a rule.

The exceptions are at the junction between the infield and the oval. The oval has a yellow line that runs along the bottom of the track, all the way around. There is also a gap (with no white line) between the bottom yellow line and the infield boundary white line.

Obviously, you must cross the yellow line to enter and exit the infield, and there isn't a white line specifying exactly where this is. However, you can use common sense to see where you should be. This is especially evident at the exit of the first infield section.

The picture from Joe's replay clearly shows a violation of the rules as laid out for this event, and those are the only rules that matter. There are no exceptions to the boundary and AI touching rules, and any violation will result in a DQ.

Sphinx
Where white and/or yellow lines are placed along the edge of the track determine the boundry of the track.
so 4 wheels off that line is off track ;)

Thanks GTP_L_Hamilton.
I felt real bad when I saw the run was classed as dirty (first time I have ever tried a competition like this) just was not looking at that as being classed as off the track - but rules are rules so I will take my medicine.

My main concern was every body thinking I'm a "cheat" - that's why I took on the "GTP" tag in the first place because I firmly believe in fair play not just winning.

You all seem real cool and I hope to be able make friends with like minded people.
The car handles so much better now in specIII that I can't believe I was that far off line in the first place!
So watch out people - I'm coming back at ya!

Sorry for wasting your time Sphinx.

I can't speak for the admininstrators Joe. But, I don't think you were trying to gain an advantage by being over the line with your car. It appears to be an honest misunderstanding of the rules to me. Still, rules are rules. Good luck with getting a clean Spec III run. I hope you make it into Stage 02.👍

Joe, making a mistake or missunderstanding the rules is not cheating... it's just "a mistake" :sly:

We almost all did that kind of mistake once without being called cheater don't worry mate.

Good luck for Spec III 👍

:tup:Joe,

You think your mistake was bad, get a load of this one.

The Registry qualifier that we had to do in the Ferrari, I did it with out putting a single wheel off track. I misread the rule. I chucked away laps that were faster than the one I submitted. Luckily I still made the top division. :dunce:

we all make mistakes, Don't for one minute think that you were cheating. It was a mistake. 👍

Here goes my replay. Thanks to everyone involved in running this competition (especially Sphinx of couse!). I had a lot of fun!

Yeah everyone make mistake's, including myself 👍 Also that Ferrari Qualifier Event, if you look at Division 1 Gold GTP_Delfino got red flagged for his lap, I wonder what his punishment will be.

Going to post my replay in about an hour or so.
