GTP_Synwraith vs GTP_EDK
Winner: GTP_Synwraith
Thanks for the writeup, Maz. I think you pretty well covered it from your perspective. From mine, I was lucky to only be punted severely by boldoplay in the Lotus. But he got me good on the first one, putting me into the sand at Degner 1. And the second time, he was stopped at Dunlop and swerved in front of me at the last second when I went to take evasive maneuvers.
But in the end, as I told you, the difference in our race time was my own spin in the esses. I'm not sure that would have happened if I had not been so frustrated by all the punting. But at the same time, I also know I would not have been able to lap in the low 1:04's without being in your tow on the first 6 laps.
You were faster in this one, I'll see you in 2 weeks.

Stotty: werent you on a busines trip? congrats .. bad luck Ham...
great write up mad 👍
i think i just made a great save at Degner it could be worst and as things was rolling after that i think (if you didnt crash) the winner could be decided on the last laps and could be anyone of us..
another thing i want to say is that.... This 14 years old talent is turning into a MONSTER... and he will eat everything that cruise on his way... i cant believe how its possible to drive like that so soon...
thanks for the compliments guys
GTP_Fuzzy v GTP_DukeOfPendle
Race 1
Fuzzy on pole, but I got the jump at the start and led into turn 1. The order remained the same until the host dc'd as we were rounding Spoon, still on the first lap.
Race 2
Again I got the holeshot, as my car seemed slightly quicker off the line.
It was quickly apparent to me that Fuzzy had more sailing skills than me, and was capable of a faster pace. The first 3 laps were entertaining, with me driving defensively everywhere, and Fuzzy diving this way and that, to try to forge an opening. It is a great credit to him that he managed to avoid tapping my slow ass during these first 3 laps.
On the run down to turn 1 on lap 4 Fuzzy managed to get up the inside of me, even though I had positioned mid track to make it tricky for him.
The next couple of laps were run at a faster pace, with me desperately trying to hang on to the tow.
On lap 6 the inevitable happened, with me half spinning on the exit of Degner 2. This resulted in a lead of around 10 sec for Fuzzy.
At the start of lap 7 I noticed that the 10 sec gap had now become only around 4 secs. I guessed that Fuzzy must have had a "moment" too.
I pressed on, hoping to apply some sort of pressure which would lead to another mistake.
No further errors though, and Fuzzy carried the 4 or 5 second gap all the way to the finish of the race, and emerged the worthy winner.
Congratulations on your victory Fuzzy 👍, and good luck in your forthcoming races.

mad sounds weird but its what you are turning into... im glad that i know you on this days and in the future i could say "hey guys.. i know him.. i've beaten that guy when he was 14 years old.. not anymore though"
That's quite funny. Thanks though.👍
Mainly laughing out how one of the top Division 1 Gold drivers thinks i'll beat him in the future, can't really see that happening.
A certain M3 time trial suggests it's possible.

you shouldnt tell me that.. thats an hold lap... i need to put my gloves then 👍

hey TA you're very calm.. you only said "****" during the crash... i dont think i could hang that much my words bad luck... although i think that on the 1st race you're running on the Stijn slipstream... lucky you on that time...

Yea I tried to keep my foul words to a minimum after spinning out ...I didn't want to have do a bunch of language editing afterwords
In the first race it took me a few laps to really get into a rhythm during the race, being that it was only 7 a.m. for me and I had only done 3 warm up laps I was sitting comfortably behind Stinj for pretty much the entire race, watching and waiting for him to possibly make a mistake. In the first race my goal was to sit behind him for most, if not all of the race and then make my move on the last lap exiting 130R, when it counts 👍 I'd noticed throughout the week that this car seems to be a bit hard to handle in a slipstream, so I tried to keep my distance in the corners and then use his slip to catch back up on the straight portions...which seemed to work just fine and was safer than pushing all out through the corners just so I could make a unnecessary pass on the straight. In the end I still think Stijn's pace was probably 2 tenths quicker than me on average in clean air, mostly due to how aggressive and consistant he was entering T1. Mad props goes out to Stijn for keeping this boat on the road as well as he did without any prior race practices
Congratulations and well done to all the week 1 winners, and better luck in the future rounds for those less fortunate in week 1. 👍
